This is incident of 1975 when I was studying in Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapith, Deogha, Jharkhand. One Mig-25 flew over Iran with such a high speed that one Iranian Airforce Aircraft in routine cross country flying, followed that Mig-25 which disappeared from RADAR of Iranian Aircraft within 3 minutes. Then later this Aircraft appeared in Japan telling that they have finished fuel and wants permission to land. Japan did not give permission but prepared runway for landing and immediately barred entry exit from Japan. This Aircraft was Mig-25 hijacked by Russian Pilot himself. Immediately USSR announced that if a single seal of any component of Aircraft is broken, then Japan is calling for 3rd World War. Americans were allowed to come to Japan and they lnspected the Mig-25 and photographed without breaking seals. The Russian Pilot was flown to America and given citizenship and Mig-25 was returned to USSR. This was the fastest fighter aircraft in the world in 1975 and the RADAR of this Aircraft was of 625MWatt.

The main mission of this aircraft was surveillance. India is currently using satellites and drones for this purpose. Because our enemies today are using technologically advanced air defense systems. They can easily find the MiG25.

Mig 25 is not superior any longer after the coming of sophisticated air defence system like S400 of China etc and surveillance can easily be done using satellite and drone
