India has a single Time Zone but now Govt is thinking to have another time zone for the eastern side because of the earlier rise of sun in eastern side as the sun rises their first so the work and offices could function in morning as compared to the north and western part of India .

From Bangladesh to entry point in India at North-East is Douki-tamabil Border. Douki of Meghalaya is at India side and Tamabil is at Bangladesh side I have visited Meghalaya. It's a heavenly place.

India ka Northeastern part mainland se jis area se juda hai use "Siliguri Corridor" ya phir "Chicken's Neck" bola jaata hai jo ke kyunki yeh area bahut hi naazuk aur strategically important hai India ke liye. Iss corridor ka sabse kam width wala area sirf 22 km ka hai, aur yahaan India apna international boundary Bangladesh, Nepal aur Bhutan se share karta hai, aur thodi si north mein Tibet ka area bhi aa jaata hai.
