The story is based on the life of Milkha Singh, an Indian athlete who was a Commonwealth Champion and ×2 400m Asian champion and an Olympian. It stars Farhan Akhtar in the titular role with Sonam K Ahuja, Divya Dutta, Meesha Shafi, Pavan Malhotra, Yograj Singh, Art Malik and Prakash Raj in supporting roles. Sports was coordinated by the American action director Rob Miller of ReelSports.

45.73 seconds was National Record for 400 m race set by Sri Milka Singh Ji. It stood for nearly 40 years and was broken by Paramjeet Singh on 1998 when he clocked 45.21 seconds. Milka Singh Ji maybe gone but he will remain in Indian hearts forever. He is in heaven racing away with real wings now. We were blessed to witness such a great human and champion 🏆🙏🏻🇮🇳

While everyone os only talking about Milkha and Farhan, I think it's the genius direction by Rakysh Omprakash Mehra who instead of choosing the traditional way of putting in Bgm and Overdramtic pauses just allows the audience to feel the deafening silence of moment which hits hard.
