Bhai Saab, with all due respect, I believe you should really listen to recordings from prepartition. Raagis like Bhai Samund Singh, Bhai Balbir Singh, Bhai Avtar Singh as well as raagis from the namdhari samparda are all torchbearers of darbar sahib's original kirtan. Since most raagis are not interested in learning raag in modern days, we cannot ignore the fact that this here is what kirtan was like 100, 200, 300 and 400 years ago. Just a humble opinion, bhool chuk maaf karna ji.

@@gurveersingh7461 Veer jio I listen to the traditional Raagis and NOT the Srinagarwale variety. He is singing in Hindostani tradition and NOT the Gurmat tradition. Bhai Samund Singh, Bhai Avtar Singh-Gurcharan Singh, Bhai Dharam Singh-Shamsher Singh Zakhmi, Bhai Bakshish Singh they all kept the Gurmat Sangeet tradition alive - Manbir Singh has commitment, there is no doubt about it. But he should also be careful about maintaining the purity of the tradition that is Gurmat Sangeet. The same way we maintain the purity of the Gurbani text (not a bindi is allowed to be moved from here to there) - we also need to maintain the purity of the Raag structure that is unique to Gurmat Sangeet.
