Bharat Stage 6 (BS6) is becoming obsolete as India prepares to transition to Bharat Stage 7 (BS7), following an announcement from Transport Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari. This move comes shortly after the European Commission revealed its plan to enforce EURO 7 emission standards for new cars and vans by July 2025, with the same standards extending to new trucks and buses in 2027.
Similar to how BS6 drew from EURO 6 standards, BS7 will be modelled after EURO 7. With the EURO 7 implementation set for July 2025, India is expected to adopt BS7 in the near future.

If the petrol and diesel emmision limit is set at 60 then shouldn't t the 10 year lifeline be removed from diesel and make equivalent to 15 as petrol in NCR for bs7.

then how will modi make you buy new cars that last only 2-3 years ??? They want you to buy houses, cars, food, clothes so they can tax it all. But they wont make good roads or public transport. They dont want to make you more comfortable just want you to spend more and take more loans. The loans are given tax rebates etc ... you'r eall rats. Even if you want to live off the grid quietly they wont let you

The limit is not because of pollution. It is mostly to benefit car makers and government ( more tax ). Because if BS7 is implemented, PUC should also be removed because you have a sensor in Car already. Also the 10 yr limit should be removed if car is good in PUC but it is not the case. Gov. Cares much more about tax collection than pollution. I hope government comes to it's senses ( which i know won't happen ).

Aisa hm sochte h lekin hota uska opposite h. Agr sach m logo ko akal ajaye n gaadi purchase karna bandh krde to ye aise faltu k norms lana bandh krdenge. Aur ye companies apni car k price firse kam krna start krdenge ar shyd 2015-18 wale rate m sell hona start ho jaye. Iska live example China m iPhone ki sales ko dekh kr ptta chala. Wha logo ne iPhone buy krna bht he kaam kr diya aur iPhone m Apple ne bht bhari discount diya even in 15 pro max taki sales increase ho jaye. So solution is simple if the price is high for a product stop buying it completely.

Kyuki logo ko naya stock chahiye hota hai or time to time me sell nahi kar paya or stock purana ho jaye to koi phir nahi leta hai. Jab me ford me kaam karta tha humre stockyard me 1.5yr purani Ecosport tha & previous varient tha jo new Ecosport se 2-3 feature Kam tha or same price tha. To koi nahi le raha tha to humne price 1.5 lakhs rupees Kam karke sell kiya tha uske original price se. Agar nahi kiya hota to woh gaadi koi nahi kardta or company ka lose hota hai. Isliye Jab bhi ek gaadi ki value kaam ho dusre gaadi se saamj lena wo purani wali stock gaadi de rahe hai. Saamne se koi bhi nahi botla hai aapko jo gaadi bech raha hai wo purani wali hai. Ese hamesa nahi hota hai magar Jab hota hai karna parta hai company ko ek stock ho ya kuch stock. Nahi to naya stock aane me dikat hoti hai or stockyard me space nahi rehta to naya stock order karna muskil ho jata hai. Naya stock aayega to bulk me hi ayaega. Ese karke company wale mange karte hai.

Planting more trees 😂😂😂 Well the pollution with comes out of car, bikes or trucks and busses is not just CO2, in fact other harmful particulate matter, nitrogen dioxide, ozone, and other volatile organic compounds can’t be fully stopped by planting trees. I think world asap needs Hydrogen based, bikes, cars, buses and trucks

Most people might be upset with these stringent emission norms. But I have a slightly different take on this. Having lived in Gurgaon for more than 7 years, I never remember having seen the city without dusty air. Basically if I'm stepping out, I'd have to inhale all the dust in the air. Even as a fresher with an average salary, I had to skip my plans of buying a bike and had to buy a car just to safeguard myself from the dusty air. Needless to say, I never saw any birds in the city's harsh air condition. (Save for the pigeons which are basically crap machines) Come to 2020 when Covid started and the whole country went into lockdown. The whole city became a barren land and people restricted themselves to indoors. During the 3 weeks of lockdown, I vividly remember that gradually I started hearing the chirping of birds. After 3 weeks, I took the courage of stepping out and took my car for a spin. For the first time in my life, I saw a very different Gurgaon with clean air and no dust in the air. I understood that needless of what people say, vehicular pollution in addition to the loose dust in the city played a crucial role in Gurgaon's poor air condition. Let's also not forget how the heat is increasing each year. We need to do all that we can to save our environment.

Correlation doesn't mean causation. Most of the pollution you see in India is to be attributed to construction and industry. The dusty air you are talking about is caused because of carrying sand in open containers, that deposits in lots of fine particles in the cities. Second is the industrial waste which comes not only from exhaust gases, but in the manufacturing process itself that releases lots of fine fabric and microplastics in the air that never settles on the ground. Cars and motorcycles cause the least amount of pollution. If vehicular emissions were this bad, other cities with more vehicle concentration in US would be multiple times more polluted than cities of Bharat, where people drive much older cars - with average age of cars in US being 12.5 years, while 4 years in Bharat. Let's compare ownership of car in NCR with Mumbai. Mumbai has more cars than NCR. In fact, Mumbai has far more old cars compared to Delhi, that has the idiotic NGT rule. And yet, AQI of Mumbai is half that of Delhi, despite having more diesel cars, more old cars and more cars in general. The government punishing car drivers for pollution from construction and industry is misguided and blames a group of people who are not even causing the so called pollution. Just like Hindu Deepawali crackers getting the flak for poor AQI, while studies after studies have shown that they are not why cities are polluted. Since Parit is talking about leaving a better future for our children, how about we persuade the government and the scam of organisation that is NGT to look at the actual causes.

I made a big big mistake by buying a new bike in 2020 (Bajaj CT110X). Hating it every time I ride it. The bike feels dead across the rev range and the mileage is nowhere close to what it should be in the real world. I have spent (wasted) enough time and money on this bike, so I'm planning to get rid of it, say goodbye to vehicles altogether and get myself a bicycle. To hell with emission norms!!!

Get the exhaust changed, a bigger chain wheel (engine side) , have fuel injector replaced with one from splendor, it will work magic.

@@vikramwadhwani6174 not the exhaust actually, Just get rid of catalytic convertor type appearing section from the exhaust. Remember, the more free flowing exhaust, more power you will get. Mileage will improve automatically, else try a different (after market, same rating injector)

Also, ensure that there is no sensor plugged in the catalytic thing, else bike will not start. Get help from a good mechanic. Lastly, not to mention- this will increase the pollution output, hopefully you are aware it.

Introducing newer and stricter norms works only at the manufacturing level. On every Indian road we still see more than 20 years old vehicles emitting black smoke including tractors and government vehicles. On some highways we can see old Maruti Van PUC issuing vehicles which do not conform to the emission norms themselves. Given that in India nobody wants to scrap his vehicle no emission norms will actually work at the ground level as long as 20-30 years old vehicles continue to ply on the roads.

BS6 scooters, 5 liter fuel tank, fuel drops below 1.5 and they don't move. Fuel pump and fuel injectors have problems. We've sent robots to the moon but can't figure out how to use 30% of the fuel remaining? Jeez give me a carb any day.

the problem is 50% or more taxation on vehicles suppose a manufacturer is required add 20k worth of parts to be added in car to comply with norms but that in turn will make them hike the prices by 40k which is unreasonable just reduce the taxes on vehicles too while implementing better emission norms to counter act the price hikes

Don't worry...A New Scrap Policy will be issued alongside Also, emissions are handled not just by engine but also the exhaust system, catalytic convertor, etc.. So just engine swap won't do a thing. So it will be better to scrap the old vehicle, buy a new BS7 vehicle, pay Road Tax, TCS, Insurance again and then keep paying toll taxes.🥳
