I personally came to germany in the year 2019 and did my Masters from Paderborn University. I can definitely say I have never faced any sort of racism here in Germany. I got part time job in my field within 9 months of coming to Germany. Also got my full time job before finishing my Masters. Same goes for my wife who came to Germany in the year 2020, finished Masters from FH Dortmund and also got internship and full time job soon after. There are ample english speaking jobs in Germany both for IT and non-IT fields. Yes learning German language is a great help but you can learn it easily too by taking classes in the university also sometimes company enrolls you to a german language class as well. Germany Is definitely a great place for expats.

The majority of the German population are helpful and friendly people. However, one is ultimately here in this country for a purpose. As a responsible or goal-oriented person one should be primarily concerned with the own goals. Born here and experienced various phases & mind-sets, I can also confirm that there are groups here in DE that have something against strangers for various reasons. But mostly the Desi community (with long-term-aims) notices this after 10 to 15 years. However don't stress, just be careful and you'll be fine. Ultimately, it's all about give and take of good values.

I live in Germany, did my masters, I speak conversational German but German companies need fluent German. It is very important that u should know German very well because everything in workplace in German ,for example presentation , meetings, everything. If u don't do well then withing 6 months u will be laid off. Then again it is very difficult to find a job again because German system is very slow in giving u job.

1) I am INDIAN fresher. My classmate is a EUROPEAN fresher. I never got an internship or job. She was trained for 1 year and then got a job without any hassles. This is clearly racism. INDIAN RESERVATION SYSTEM is far better compared to that. At least students get a job based on merit. 2) Make a CV with INDIAN NAME AND PHOTO. Make another CV with EUROPEAN NAME and PHOTO. Let's see how many interviews calls an INDIAN can get as compared to EUROPEAN. 3) Language part I disagree as even EUROPEANS with no GERMAN skills are getting jobs in Multinational Firms. IT work will be in ENGLISH. I have B2 Skills which most companies won't consider. Even INDIANS with C1 and above skills struggle. 4) I am from TU and only 2 out of 13 INDIANS got a job. Data Science. The rest are all planning to move back after spending 10 months here. All EUROPEANS got a job. 5) IIT/NIT/ BITS and even Tier 2,3 universities have 100% placement in INDIA. Here even if you are from a top 10 university there is no job guarantee. It's a waste of money. Education standard is also not that great tbh. Similar to INDIAN system. I wonder why people still come to EUROPE to study. 6) There is no SKILL SHORTAGE. All private companies can easily outsource their projects to INDIAN SERVICE BASED COMPANIES. Only INDIANS with exceptional skills are hired here.

I believe everyone have their own journey, experiences, and battles. One can not generalise the things based on 'mujhe in cheezo ka zyada pata hai'. Mere sath racism nahi hua it doesn't mean ki racism exist nahi krta. Par ye sahi baat kahi ki negative thoughts ko apne upar hawi na hone do. People have different experiences and they made their mind based on their experiences. Many of us are introverts and can not share our feeling to our colleagues as you did. So, personality also plays a pivotal role. So, I am not okay when people generalise the situtation based on their experience. I have been in different countries of Europe and based on my experience I can say Sweden is best among all. But again this is my personal experience. I can't expect everyone feel the same and If someone disagree, I don't have any right to call 'wahiyat soch' . Personally, I am not enjoying Germany as I was expecting. And people around me (from different nations) also feel the same. So, its good that you feel like home in Germany par agar dusre nahi krte aur wo wapas INDIA jakar kheti krna chahte hai, that's their choice, no need to be mean.

I was directly recruited from India by a company in Germany. I never faced visa issues. In fact compared to USA, getting a visa for Germany is far simpler (if you have all the relevant documents). Bro this guy’s comments are so childish. Bharat bhai you are absolutely right. First of all if you have never worked in your life to earn money for your family, you will never understand the value of money and hardwork. So no job is small, and you can always network even if you are working in a cafe. You might find someone who is a student and you can build your network. Bhai india mai bhi agr hindi na bolega to log accept thode krenge tuje same chez Germany mai bhi hai if you want to blend with locals then you have to learn the language which will ultimately help you. And I don’t believe you will not get a job in Germany or any other country if you have the knowledge and skills to get the job done, employers will hire you. This is bullshit that you won’t get a job. If you never try you will never know. Always gotta stay positive ab agar india se he ye mentality leke jaoge ki vha jake nhi hoga to mai kya krunga then it will not happen for you. You should keep positive attitude and mind bana lo ki you will make it happen. Whether then you have to sacrifice your sleep or fun activities or anything, one thing I have learned in my life so far is if you really want it bad enough and you are willing to do the work, there is no way you’ll fail.

Thanks for addressing these benial comments with rational and your personal experiences. As far as racism is concerned, although I didn't face it, I won't deny its existence since some acquaintances faced racist comments in public setting, however I completely agree with your objective perpective towards it, frankly I don't give a f*** to racists' non sensical opinions towards me, I got better things to focus on. I asked myself, okay, what can "I" do? After overcoming the big pile of own insecurities and inferiority complex, I started to consider myself just as any another person living in Germany. Understanding, speaking the language and more importantly the culture was the key to feel like I am on the same playing field. I met many friendly, very inclusive people who eventually became friends and since german became the default language of conversation, the ties became simply stronger, my friends feel more free when they speak their mothertounge and I am more comfortable since they are speaking barrier free. I study sports science and it being a kind of a niche field, I realised with time that I need to put in more efforts as an immigrant, which I accepted and now just carrying on with the mindset that I get to do more, learn more, it really has built my character and given me more clarity in life. Trying newer pathway feels safer in Germany than in India. It wasn't easy, but I am glad that I am today in a place that I am able to manage all of my living expenses with part time work, do well in university and I recently finished the basic german taught trainer license course and looking forward to next levels soon. Its been an adventure being in Germany and obstacles are there to be tackled with the courage and very importantly the support of the people who love you and care about you. Really appreciate your work, Bharat, Thanks a lot! 😇

I completely agree with you Bharat bhaiya but the problem nowadays are coming from Germany embassy and visa itself I don’t know what’s happening all of a sudden things are becoming so terrible people are literally crying for there aps certifications and the aps helplines won’t even respond and even if you get the aps fortunately then vfs is creating next barrier they are not functioning properly at all I had been preparing to study in Germany for last one year since I’ll be completing 12th standard next year its really concerning and the problem is they aren’t even taking action against these problems even though students are trying there best to reach them If you could cover up these topics too I’ll be great

I believe that people who are criticising Europe or America, are people who watch 9pm news channels in India and who listen to any particular IT cell’s news.

Germans are really helpful in nature. When you make the effort of talking to them in German, they indeed really appreciate that. N number of Germans told that I speak very good German, this is absolutely wrong, I don't speak that fluently but they motivate me telling this. But I must say that they are introverted in nature.. you need to literally mix with them, like share hobbies to be friends. I don't know if there is racism in workplace or not, but I haven't heard of it. There is a beautiful relationship between India and Germany and I enjoy every bit of it. But I feel sad when some school kids asks me if India is a poor country, as they are taught in schools that India is a poor country. I felt bad, otherwise the overall experience here has been pleasant.

I personally think that german kids are right about india. It's a poor third world country in reality no offense in that. India is very poor compared to Germany 🇩🇪

I was in Germany 2004-05. You will get a job only if you are skilled as per their standards and requirements. Unlike Americans, Germans are hardcore perfectionists. Only qualifications don't help. Plus most important knowledge of German langauge is a must.
