Grant me, Liang, this moment to reflect and muse, On the late Emperor's vision, his life so unfairly used. In this fractured era, our empire's fate uncertain, Yet, the court and loyal soldiers, their hearts are undeterred, resolute and certain. Bound by unwavering allegiance to Your Majesty's reign, They recall the late Emperor's kindness, his benevolent domain. Now, an opportunity beckons to extend your noble rule, To honor his memory, a path forward, our solemn school. This is no time for misguided counsel, nor for deafening silence, The wise court officials of old, their decisions formed alliance. In Western Han's embrace, prosperity did bloom, While in Eastern Han's shadow, decline did loom. Once a humble farmer, amidst Nanyang's strife I'd roam, No lofty dreams did I possess, in my rustic home. Yet, the late Emperor, with grace and esteem, Sought my humble abode, and there found his gleam. Filled with gratitude, I embraced his plea, To dedicate myself to his noble decree. In his wisdom, he saw a guide in me, Entrusting his final moments, a sacred decree. Haunted by the fear of failing in my mission's task, I now journey forth, on this perilous path I'll bask. Crossing the Loo River, under the scorching sun's sway, Into the wilderness, I tread, prepared for the fray. The southern lands under our dominion, our forces stout, I propose to lead them northward, without a doubt. To expel treacherous rebels, to restore the Palace of Han's grace, In your service, Your Majesty, I seek my place. My sole yearning, permission to regain our dynasty's might, To quell the traitorous plight, to bring back the light. If I should falter, I'll bear my transgressions with grace, Reporting my deeds to the late Emperor, in that sacred space. Your Majesty, I implore you, with wisdom light your way, Consider your path, seek the wise to guide your day. Let not the late Emperor's farewell words fade, As on this arduous journey, your trust in my counsel is forever laid.
