My prayer is that these bible journaling ideas and hacks will inspire you to go dive into God's Word and taste and see that God is SO GOOD. I really wanted to show how I bible journal because I know everyone does it differently and my bible journaling is very focused on the notes aspect and less on the aesthetics of it all. And, you'll see, as I kind of do a mini bible journaling flip through, that my bible journal is NOT perfect at all. That my process isn't complicated or nice and neat, but that I like easy bible journaling ideas, that are fast and simple. I just wanted to show ways to bible journal that aren't the sit-down-and-paint way! So maybe you're wanting to learn how to start bible journaling or wanting to learn bible journaling basics and easy bible journaling ideas, I pray this video motivates and inspires you to dive in, it will never be perfect but you'll never regret starting!

@@HowtoFaithALifeSo fun fact you know how when you mention that you like to write about the background and purpose of the message and the message of the book that you're reading My Bible actually has that at the beginning of each book it has a whole page dedicated to the timeline the message and purpose basically what this book's about and a reason to give thanks to God for this book throughout my Bible it has maps and timelines explaining and helping you understand the geography and the geological places and regions that take place in the Bible like for example in John it had a whole timeline showing every hour before Jesus died on the cross like that's so cool that my Bible has that I love my Bible but I have a question how do you actually have time to make your Bible look super fancy like that cuz I want to do that but I don't really have the time I usually just highlight and make little small notes and then do a Bible journal on the side of that where I pick a verse that speaks to me I interpret it in my own words I applied it to my life and then pray about it

I HAVE run out of space in some of my Bibles. I write my notes with my unbelieving children in mind. My prayer is that one day one of my Bibles will end up in their hands as a testimony of God's love for them.

I have a couple for you. Use transparent sticky notes. Post its makes them and they are great. You can write a note and put it over the scripture it is about. And still read the actual scripture underneath. The second is to make your own topical guide at the front of your bible of verses of different subjects that spoke to you. This way you ever want to look up any subject that you want to read about. You know exactly where to find the ones that mean something specifically to you. You can also do this for your entire bible in a separate notebook as a scripture study tool of every noted scripture you have and where each is located by book of the bible. You can make a list of the way you did as well. Like underlined ones for example. So you're making a personal reference guide for yourself of just your own scriptures. Latestly, if you have anymore space. 😁Tabs for different topics by letter. Like c for Christmas, b for birth of Christ. Put them in so you know in which books they are talked about. Make go to rectangle cards with them listed as a go to as well. You have a blessed day. Take care.

Great! It just occurred to me that you could add QR codes. One application is if you make a private vlog entry to supplement your written notes.

Ummmm this is BRILLIANT!! I do a lot of online commentaries, etc, and to be able to “link” those resources would be amazing!!! (For anyone who doesn’t know, you can create QR codes for free via google, and I’m sure there are other free options too. Just google “google QR code generator, paste in the link, and voila! Print and cut to size and tape in. Can you tell how excited I am about this hack?!?!?!?)

My first bible was a pink bible. It seemed like a fun bible... Like, not serious. The first time I put watercolour on my bible and underlined passages was the first time the bible really came alive for me. I could flip through it and visually find passages that I connected with. I think this is VERY important during prayer meetings when you're trying to find a word for the moment, God can use the work- or fun, really- that you'd done before to draw you to passages. As you read over them they can just hit you. It's awesome. So I wanted to move to a bigger bible with more space in the margins, NASB for a more literal translation for when I'm studying scriptures. And I found one I really liked, and my lovely family decided to get it for me for my birthday. Now, it's a serious looking bible. I've had it for 2 years and haven't had the guts to mark it up because it was a gift. But. Your process is making me remember how much it works for me; it makes remember how much I used to love hanging out in my bible. I think I'm going to start making some tabs. That feels like. Good first step to start back into it again. Thank you.

That is a super cute idea. And I have tons of washi and scrap paper. I carry my Bible around in a really nice Bible cover. Bit I think I want to trick it out a bit!! And I have another Bible I love for painting in the journal margins.

I'm SO worried about writing something that I may want to get rid of later or something...your tip in another video that says " take timeless notes" has reeaally helped me figure out what i can write without the extra anxiety. I always worry about running out of space

I've not noticed yet about the interleaves. I'm so jeaulous!!!🤩 Assisting your video I decided I'm going to add pages to my study bible. I came across your channel because I bought an one column bible to start drawing bible journaling, and on that new bible I won't do any more than that. But I have my beloved study bible, full of notes and information, and on that bible I will add the extra pages, the tabs and all the other great ideas you are sharing with us! I also worry about getting out of space on my bible and already did. So I decided to take notes on a note book to go along with the bible but it's not the same! It doesn't feel the same if you know what I mean.🥰😁

I highlight my bible based on categories. For example the priesthood or kingship, anything higher in authority within the hierarchy is in Purple. Gods creation in Bible in pink, the resurrection in a different shade of blue, the Day of the Lord and consumation of the ages is in Red, disembodied spirits or demons in orange, prophecies in green, Gods eternal instructions for mankind in Yellow. It has greafly helped me find verses when i can flip through and find the colors in the book i know it is in.

My mom has always dated passages from sermons... if she was at church, she marked the dates and who the preacher was by the passage he preached on.

Our pastor of 25 years retired two years ago. While seeking the new pastor God has chosen for our church, we are being taught on Sundays by our elders, missionaries on furlough, and professors from the nearby Master's University. So on Sunday mornings, I record who is teaching and the date so that I can remember who said what when!

Wal-Mart sells a scrap pack of various size cut pieces of scrapbook paper/cardstock. I have been using those to write special thoughts or scriptures to focus on. I didnt think to washi tape them in. Great idea. Love this (all) your videos

You mentioned a page where you had retaken your notes of and put it overtop of the other... I was just thinking about how fun it would be to turn those type of pages into a pull-out tab kinda page. I'm sure there are "how to" videos on creating a pop up or pull tab books that you could use and it would just be fun to make use of that kind of thing with the free real estate of two pages washi taped together. Meh. Musings.❤

I’ve only mentioned it a few times, some people call this “bible study journals” I think, which is totally a great idea! I wish I had done this MORE when I didn’t have a bible journal, I’d do it in my prayer journal, but that’s about it

I love love love Bible journaling so much because it helps me memorize and is super cute... And I do this to an extent myself but, although I love the cute overstuffed Bibles with stickers and decorations and scrapbook papers like yours, it does seem like it gets to the point where you CAN'T properly read the words because they are so covered up. Is this the case when it's your Bible in person? I hope the question makes sense ☺️

Hi Faith. I have a question. I'm not good at taking notes at all and I tend to just write down the scripture verse that my pastor gives us, but then not really sure how to write down all that the verse has for me. How do I figure out what the key words are and how to start journaling? This is also true when I'm reading my Bible on my own. How do you know where to start? Okay...that's more than one question, but oh well. Lol

I know you asked this a couple months ago, but maybe this will help if you haven't found a system yet. I use the KJV Bible, and I also have an old Webster ' s dictionary from the 1950's. (I use an old dictionary because it has more definitions, and some that are less used today). I write down the key words in the scripture, then look up the definition of the words and write down the definitions. I then read the definitions and see which ones apply to what is being said in the scripture. Sometimes the older use of a word opens the scripture deeper...remember, we're reading a translation of the Bible to English from the late 1500's. Hope this helps!

Every time I order washi tape, I get this really thin roll…

I have to just except misspelled words or messy hand writing. I cant spell at all. (dyslexia). Seriously I still write how when I mean who. You would think have doing that hundreds of times my brain would finly get it.🤔 Nope it doesn't. I used to not write in my bible because I thought years latter someone in my family will read it and think wow she can't spell or she doesn't know simple English. But finly got over that. Realizing that my kids would be the ones who read it. And it wouldn't be me if there was not misspelled words or that my hand writing is messy. I looked at my grandmother's hand writing in my bible and I cherish it. My grandmother is no longer living. What matters is studying Gods word and being a good example to my family. I have only made one regret in journaling. I painted over the bible texted. Before I realized I dont like doing all the artsy stuff in my bible. I prefer note taking and creative note taking. But now that I have learn how to add a page in my bible. I can just add that text back in. So I guess I dont really regret that page anymore. Now my only thought is, I hope they can at lest read it and understand what I wrote. 😄
