It depends on what season I am in.If I'm struggling spirituality,or in the middle of a pity party,I go to the book of Job,this man is in deep emotional pain, physical pain and feeling abandoned by God,he doesn't understand why.If I'm decouraged an need encouragement Psalm is my book.Isaiah is my favorite go to book.Bible study tips true off all distractions,go to your quiet place where you and God meet and spend time together in His Word.Let His Word soak in and speak to you.

You two need to do more videos together! Love the knowledge, love seeing the love between you two, and this one just made me smile even more than I usually do. As an “older person” I’m a newbie at Bible reading….I started with the gospels. I keep a notebook nearby and enjoy writing the scriptures that really speak to me. I just bought a study Bible and believe that will help more! Concordance is next!

I love the book of Hosea. Do you want to know something funny? When I was first reading it, I couldn't figure out why, after Hosea went and bought Gomer back, why didn't the book talk about the story of Hosea and Gomer anymore. BUT, the more I re-read it, I finally understood that the real story wasn't about Hosea and Gomer's relationship, but it is about God's relationship with Israel! I don't know why it took me so long to figure it out, but I'm glad I did because it means so much more to me now! Sorry this is long, but I wanted to share that with you guys! ☺

That was so amazing, thank you!! You make all your subscribers feel like they know you, can relate to you. Your hearts are both so good. You truly want what's best for us all. For All of us to be able to Know God!! Thank you for that. I love when Pastor Joe said you dont have to wait to go to church until you've gotten it all together, or think you have it all figured out. Sometimes we feel like okay when I dont sin any more i can go, well unfortunately no matter how hard we try to not sin, we are not Jesus. We need it most when we dont have it all together. When we feel like we dont have Gods love or dont deserve it. That is at times the hardest time to go. Feeling unworthy!! Thanks you 2 for all your wonderful help, support and encouragement. ❤🙏

Hi Andrea. I don't know if you like to fish or not, but my pastor uses this analogy about waiting until you are clean ( not a sinner). When you catch a fish, you don't catch it already cleaned and ready to eat, right? You catch it and then have to clean it first before you can eat it Well, it's the same with people. You don't come to God already cleaned up on the inside. No, you come to God all broken up and messy and then He cleans you up and helps you to get to know Him and grow in your relationship with Him. Does that make sense?

I begin in prayer, asking the Lord to clear my mind so I can be immersed in His Word. If I begin my quiet time and my mind is still full of clutter, I stop and make lists/notes (basically, do a brain dump). Then I start over again with prayer and a few cleansing breaths. Sometimes I may have to come back a little later for my quiet time - when my mind is truly quiet.

When I was a kid, I voraciously devoured His Word Then, in my adulthood, I reached a point where I really wasn't motivated to read it. My walk with Him felt like I was going through a vast desert. I cried out to Him for help, for I remembered the sweet connection I'd had with Him when I was little. Despite all that, I made a commitment to myself (and to Him) to read at least the Bible verse that comes in a daily devotional email I get. Yeah, I know, one shouldn't read A Bible verse, but this was a baby step I could do. I got to thinking about the only two books that have made me laugh. One is the Bible (yes, there are funny verses). The other is Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. Yeah, I know. I'm weird and goofy and not always the best example. Moving on. ;) So, when I think about the Adams' book, I think about the number 42. So, I'm like, "maybe I should read every verse 42 in the entire Bible. Or, every chapter 42. Well, my favorite book of the Bible is Psalms. Maybe I should read that. Maybe so." So, I went about my day and didn't do it. The next morning, there was that commitment in my mind where I was not even going to leave the bed until I'd picked up my phone and read the verse from the daily email. Heh. There was a verse from Psalm 42. Tee hee. I was like, "Hmmm. I get the hint." So, I turned to it and read it fairly quickly. I'm like, "I can relate to that verse, but not so much those. Maybe I should endeavor to memorize it. I've never memorized scripture before." As I was memorizing, it was like my whole life up to that point flashed before me. I related to every single verse at some point in my life. The Psalm drew me in, and so did God. I started getting drawn in to other sections of the Bible. And, I left the desert and am immersed into a lush paradise that is His Word! The more I study, the more I want of Him and His Word. What I learned is that everyone seems to have times when they just aren't into reading the Bible. But, stick with it. Pray about it. Lean on Him to help. You can trust Him to draw you in and capture you with reading about Him and the stories from which He wants us to learn. He's faithful and wonderful as a Teacher and travel Companion, in all terrains.

It was already mentioned in the video but I find that if I don't get it done in the morning then it's really hard to fit in later in the day. And also like some others have commented I am really big on writing things down so that I can go back and remember it and also writing down how the Holy Spirit made me feel while I was reading that and inspiration that was given to me during that particular study time. That helps in later times of maybe not as much inspiration to look back and realize that I was given inspiration before and will be again. Also as somebody else mentioned cross-referencing that's a great tool that we have to help us and I find that learning about the words that I don't understand, like having a dictionary or a Bible that tells you what these words meant back in that time because today the same word could mean something totally different( so like the Hebrew/ Greek definition of words). By the way great video I really enjoyed it!

The question for you and me should always be WHAT BREAKS YOUR HEART. Like Nehemiah, take action on the issue and problems around you. Don't expect someone else to do it. Hello! I came across your channel and I love the message so far. A bit about me: I'm a young guy and found out I have a heart issue that's getting the better of me faster than I realized. At this point, I'm doing what I can to enjoy my life awhile I still can, but am also excited about heaven. I admit as a young guy I am torn between wanting to enjoy my life and check off my bucket list as much as possible, while realizing that I won't experience the joy of marriage, relationships with women, and all that life has to offer. But that has been minimized somewhat through prayer, allowing on me to focus on spreading the word, ministering to people at my church by spreading my story and encouraging people to live as it was their last day. On one hand my heart issue is a relief, giving me huge purpose in the time I have left, but at the same time leaving me battling feelings of envy when I see men with beautiful women, me struggling with temptation, etc. Do you have any religious words of advice for me as I prepare to wrap up my life on earth? I'm a happy new subscriber and look forward to your other videos!

My bible study tip is to have a quiet time and rest time with God firsr before you read. Calm your heart empty your mind and then ask Him to allow you to hear and see the truth in His word and the other thing read verses and slowly pronounce every word slowly, absorb the splendor and power of His word and reflect on how to use it in your life or for someone you know needs prayer or this verse and how they'd be blessed with it. I can't express how much love and gratefulness I have for our Lord Jesus Christ. He washed me clean from all my sins and loves like no one else is capable of. My time with God is precious and important. Faith I love your presence and the way you deliver God's word your sweet and wise beyond your years sweet girl, you are making our Father in Heaven proud. You both are amazing and faithful Christians I enjoy your message and teachings, oh so Faith I agree Matt is a handsome man. Blessings and prayers to your beautiful family and I pray for a hedge of protection over you all and your ministry..God bless

Can i ask you a question please. My husband was a catholic 20 years ago and when we met i got him a bible and after reading it he became a christian because his catholic life never went according to god's word . His sister ask him to become a godparent for her child as she and many of his family are catholics . My husband have tried to talk to them but its hard so we hold it to god. he has accepted to go into the catholic church to be a godparent but want to say to them and the priest that he does not agree with them . Now do you think this is right as its an catholic religion please help and god bless you both

What if you try to seek out other believers, and they don't respond to you? After 8 years and 3 different churches it it seems to be a futile effort.

Okay, so I just searched for you on Patreon and it says you are a follower, but not an active Patreon! Unfortunately there's a pay wall on Patreon, so those who sign up that way get the access to studies!

@@HowtoFaithALife I tried 3 times through PayPal. If using payPal is the issue it shouldn't be listed. And I don't want to use my bank card. I have money in the bank. Sorry you just lost a customer. I feel I shouldn't have try again using a credit card.

@@HowtoFaithALife It's totally frustrating 😑😒😤. I'm not upset with you personally. Grumbles at the patron website. I'm growing spiritually with your videos and it's frustrating when there's glitches. I'll be patient and let the lord straightened the issues.

@@kerimurphy4240 I wish I knew more! I'm trying to look into it! I've had a few Patreons complain because they were members but then their payment process changed, new bank or whatever and Patreon just kicked them off and gave them a hard time getting a new card linked. Not sure WHAT is the issue!
