Many Christians delay seeking help for mental illnesses, often thinking they are suffering from spiritual distress. However, spiritual health and mental health are not the same. Christians can be spiritually healthy and mentally ill, and vice versa.
Dr. Atasha Jordan is a psychiatry resident in Philadelphia, PA where she studies the intersection of Christianity and Mental Health. Dr. Jordan aims to help normalize conversations about mental health and mental illnesses within the Church.
