1:40:50 when questioning the unleavened bread. As a Baptist 🤷🏼‍♀️☺️I was always taught we now observe Passover by giving up unleavened for the week. The leavened is representing sin and as a reflection on yourself for that week, you taking notice of how hard it is to get and keep sin out of your life, like trying to keep leavened out of your kitchen. It’s in everything.

As for the hardening of the heart of Pharaoh... None of what you guys just said makes any sense. It should be understood that Pharaoh was Human and as such already had free will. So you can't claim this lesson to be about that. Why would God give this man strength, extra strength when God knew there was a whole bunch of plauges to be released. This man had to watch his entire life die in front of him systematically. We need a better explanation than free will when he was obviously tampered with unnaturally by God, what happens to Pharaoh? He drowns in the end. Why wouldn't God just let the man humble himself when he had enough? If Pharaoh had been allowed to be layed low, would all those people have needed to die?

I wonder if there was a bigger point to be made than that. It wasn't like 10 days 10 plagues 4 characters in this story. This was a super condensed version of what really happened. I want to believe that God knew the end and what was best for all the people of Egypt was for the leader of Egypt to be punished by the hand of God . Not Moses or Israel. He wanted all the people to see the wrath not just the king. All needed to see and all needed to make a choice of following or not . He was just the evil character that was going down no matter what. Just my take....I could be wrong too)

@@wo0dy62 I'd like to believe that too but this story, the fall of Jericho and some others like Job man poor Job... It's just that it doesn't seem like free will if it's his will. I've never been able to reconcile those two things in my head. I want to be happy to be free to make mistakes but I also innately want to please God. The two don't mix real well and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Thank you for talking with me. Have a safe journey

@@jennifferjude3156 I understand your struggle with this and feel you are not alone. Conversations between scholars, like we are watching, helps sometimes as he keeps saying "separate the wheat from the chaft" The next couple of episodes do dive deeper in this and helps out. I do believe ultimately we have the free will to do whatever we want. I try to keep in mind that these stories of the Bible are short clips and don't tell the entire store of the others involved. Could some of the troops of Egypt not followed into the sea? Yes. Is there a bigger meaning to our life than what we can see. Yes. That is why we can repent while angles can not. We can see the entire picture and all the background works. Don't be hard on yourself. Keep believing and pray. God will answer. )
