I think as long as they are relevant to your viewers, decent clothes, decent craft tools, equipment & suppliers, or anything keeping old crafts / smaller business alive then go for it. I appreciate the time & effort and enthusiasm that goes into all your work, and everyone needs to get paid or cover bills so as long as you keep away from diet supplements, VPNs or Computer games, I'm in 😀.

Love your channel Dom. If you need sponsorship, go for it! Folks can't expect to get entertainment for free. If endorsements help the channel live and thrive, then that has to be the way to go. Looking forward to future content. 👍😉

I’m impressed that you asked for your viewers thoughts on advertising. Most people just jump straight on the bandwagon. I say go for it if you’d genuinely recommend the product . At least we’d get more to watch that way. 👍

Hey Dom, I think some adverts would be perfectly fine if we get more of this great content. You hit the nail on the head, so long as they're relevant and you feel comfortable with them go for it! This channel feels like a real force for good, more of that cant be a bad thing.

There’s no way that I’m going to stop watching your videos because you are trying to make the process somewhat financially viable. I love to see you doing what you’re doing and if you also show a product that’s useful and you believe in then that can only be a bonus. Go for it. Loved this episode. Great to see and hear about all the exciting projects you have on the go or are thinking about. This channel is a breath of fresh air. I tip my hat to you, buddy.

Just do it Dom, everyone else does it, it's the nature of the beast! Have a look at any classic car magazine, no change from a fiver and it's half full of adverts. I enjoy your videos so an advert isn't going to bother me too much

Edd China has his own 'workshop diaries' channel that is sponsored. It is really good and the sponsorship doesn't get in the way of his content at all. People watch because they like what you do, so get some sponsors and keep giving us the good stuff Dom!

If you don't want to do ads Dom consider patreon, the supporters over on the time team channel have now funded 2 new episodes to be made!! I'm sure many of your viewers would be happy to pay the price of a coffee a month (or more) for you to continue making these videos.

Happy for you to include relevant ads, especially if they are also supplying goods or services that you are benefitting from to keep the channel going. My advice would just be to try to make it as humorous as you can.

Don't even worry about it, we all have to eat etc etc. If people don't like the ads they don't have to watch it's a choice, I'd rather keep watching your interesting videos than worry about the odd advert that's is allowing you to continue creating content, go for it 👍

Go for it Don! Everyone wants to see more of the content in your channel and I’m sure no one wants to see you out-of-pocket even though you love doing it. I think moderate advertising does no harm, viewers and always bypass that section if they wish. Many of the channels I watch start off with, “this channel is sponsored by”, no problem! Keep up the good work.

As long as you can recommend products with integrity I don't see why that is a problem. Given that proviso, I don't see why you shouldn't use sponsorship - especially if it gives us more opportunity to see what you are up to. Great channel. Thank you.

Dom. I love the way you ask us what we think. You are such a good bloke you are concerned about it. So here is my sage advice from years of being in business. Of course, take relevant adverts. But most of all it is called support. We want you to do well and do more, so get all the support you need. It is great to see you out and about. My top tip for a busy person is to make time for yourself, it keeps you sharp. Also, every few weeks minimum, take a couple of hours off-site, off-set or whatever, to review your business or your plans. It keeps you focussed and helps you work smarter, not harder. What about an apprentice? I think there is government funding but equally, you may have issues with admin, solo working etc Finally, keep smart on the support. Don't give it away. I think a mention from you was worth at least 3 jumpers! (he said sheepishly, groan!) Keep being yourself, you make us all feel like we are one of your mates. Thank you for that.

As your fans have shared...it is your channel...if you need sponsorships to help you out do it! I would not stop watching because of the ads. I throughly enjoy watching your videos as well as the Repair Shop. Your honesty and love of what you are creating keeps me coming back. Great videos!! And I have learned a great deal.

Hi Dom, thoroughly enjoy your vlogs, after spending my working life as an instrument maker my passion for things "engineering" has not dulled, even at nearly 73yrs of age. If you believe in the product and it is something you may use then I don't think it would trouble you to advertise it, and as always the sponsorship would come in handy. Love your stuff with the Repair Shop people too. Keep it up, variety is the spice of life !!!!

Hey Dom! This is effectively a business! If you want to advertise, that’s absolutely fine. If you tell us how amazing you think think something is, and you DON’T, we will see straight through it (like every other “influencer” on KZfaq) Do what ya gotta Dom, we will still watch. By the way, your spreading yourself too thinly on everything mate, but if that’s what you want to do, that’s ok too. Just keep being a nice guy!

Your freedom to control your content is a really valuable thing. Have you considered Patreon or Members as options. I think that many people would contribute and it would allow you to remain in control of your content.

You can always add timestamps for people to skip the ads, loads of others do it. I personally don't really care if the ads are relevant or not. The more money you have the more fun projects you can do, so I'm all for it.

Do it Dom. I can stand two minutes of funeral plans, washing powder or whatever it is, knowing another excellent video will be behind it. Today's for example, different but still brilliant. I like how they are varied, aero engines this week, bees last week. Looking forward to the next porsche instalment though. Keep it up Dom, superb.

Dom , please do whatever you feel necessary to keep the channel alive. ts well worth it and helps and entertains us all in the long run so I really don't think anybody would expect you to carry on as you are. So get advertising and crack on with the important stuff, cheers

Do what you need to do to support the channel and move your projects forward. I know that we would all like to have advertisement free videos, but it's just not practical. The time and effort involved with creating videos to go with the actual project is huge. Well done for having a channel that advertisers would like to advertise on. Hopefully my channel will reach that level of success.

Dom, absolutely, go for sponsorship. As you say, you would only endorse stuff you actually use or like, ie think are any good. I guess that will do for the bulk of your followers and, in itself, is very valuable - potential sponsors please note. Plus others do it.

Dom.. Your videos are great, your passion and enthusiasm will not be lost if you decide to go down the sponsored route. I'm positive you will make the right decisions when advertising, and if it leads to more wonderful hints and tips around the workshop then so be it... A certain Mr Edd China is doing just fine with advertising on his channel [which I also enjoy very]. Who knows what it could lead to Dom... Go for it fella! 👍

As long as you agree with the company's messages and believe in their products / services, then by all means accept the sponsorship. In the end, if it helps you to do what you enjoy (and what we all enjoy watching!), and is relevant to you / the channel, then it's got to be a good thing!

Hi Dom, I am really enjoying your channel and have watched all episodes to date and cannot wait for all of your new ones. In terms of adverts / sponsors, I would say go for it as long as they are relative to your channel and you can honestly say you enjoy or would enjoy using the products yourself. Edd China has done the same on his channel and the product placement just fits in with the show with ease as it's all relative. Whatever you decide I wish you luck, we all have to make a living so do what you need to to keep the channel going buddy 👍

I wouldn't have a problem with relevant ads Dom, it's your channel after all, and I love it. My Mum and Dad both worked at Alvis in Coventry, before I was born, just over the road was the black cab company, if I remember correctly.

Adverts - I would see no problem about ads/sponsors as long as they don't overwhelm your content and are appropriate. Have a look at Peter Millard's 10 Minute Workshop and Keith Brown's Rag 'n'Bone Brown YT channels - they both have sponsors/suppliers albeit for woodwork stuff. I'm waiting for a cup of coffee from the Land Rover!

this is a cracking channel to watch if you need to bring sponsors along for the ride so be it I just love a young guy like you takes the time to give older chaps a bit of what we saw as younger men and I wish I had followed through a bit more see if you can get screw fix, tool station or even Machine mart to sponsor you that would be great Good luck looking forward to the next video

I’m a new-ish subscriber and watching your vlog’s and videos in an attempt to get caught up although I did cheat some and jumped ahead. I’ve got to say that I’m extremely jealous to watch you wandering about cool venues where I would absolutely lose my mind. I’m in the process of bringing back a ‘71 MGBGT that sat in a garage for 34 years and seeing that one up on the lift brought a smile to my face. Rummaging around through all the old parts, gauges, carburetors, etc. is something that I’ve loved to do over the years but Covid has put the damper on that stuff lately so no swap meets for awhile. Hopefully soon and hopefully driving to them in my freshened up GT. Keep up the good work Dom. Cheers!

Dom, love the channel and the breadth of content. As to sponsors, if it’s relevant and it helps fund more content then go for it. One of my favourite KZfaq restoration channels - Old Shovel - has amassed a few key sponsors and I don’t find the way he uses / promotes them at all intrusive. Just means he can do more, even better quality content. Win Win!

Dom sponsorship isn't a turn off if its products or services you believe in personally, and are relevant to your work or interests. Diet or financial products no - engineering or creative and artistic yes even tv, video or streaming services might work. Good luck with your projects we love to watch your content.

Howdy Dom! Great work, mate. I've found your channel quite by accident but know of your work through The Repair Shop. Love all of your content, your communication style, camera work etc...very grass roots, approachable, charismatic, entertaining and above all, informative. If sponsorship is what it takes to help make your content, go for it! We'll all still be here supporting your channel no matter what. The only point I'd make, along with many others, is relevancy.
