No cons at all.....I like bichons

Anyone wanting a bichon frise must make sure it's from a really good breeder. I recently lost my bichon after 10 years, I rescued her from a very bad breeder. She had many heath issues because of poor breeding. I miss her terribly but she was looked after and I would take her to work with me (builder). She had a good life for the 10years she was with us. Toilet training tip. I put a baby gate in the kitchen entrance. Put some newspaper down in case of accidents. Now every time you feed your bichon take him/her outside for a good 30mins. Once they take a shit, give em a treat. I've used this method on a few dog and it seems to work. Final point, great little dog for letting you know someone is around. Mine would yap like crazy before somebody knocked the door haha. I'm planning to get another bichon. I absolutely love this dog breed. So much character and wonderful around kids. Mine would lay down with the pet rabbits and look after them in the garden.

I've owned bichons my entire life. They're the most perfect breed, ever. SO loving, SO devoted, SO sweet, SO happy, SO perfect! Our first, Sprite lived to the age of 17 1/2 years. Jake lived to 13. Jack, unfortunately only made it to the age of 6 years (had a kidney disorder) and our most recent, Mac, went to the Rainbow Bridge unexpectedly 2 weeks ago. He developed a tumor between his pancreas and liver that was resting on a blood vessel. Thankfully, he never had a chance to be in pain or be sick from it other than some stomach issues that weren't major but prompted us to take him to the vet where the tumor was eventually diagnosed. If you're looking for a dog, I cannot recommend a bichon enough. Such sweet, happy, devoted dogs. No shedding though grooming them is a must. I don't mean you have to pouf them out like they do in dog shows but regular hair cuts and brushing help prevent tangles which can form quickly. (Mac always hated to be brushed until I tried a boar bristle. He then used to BEG to be brushed! lol) We had no issue potty training any of the 4. They all took quickly to it. All 4 were great with other people, kids and cats. All 4 played a lot and loved to snuggle, especially Mac. He always slept right against me every night. The house is so empty and quiet without him. We're going to see a bichon puppy on Monday. Fingers crossed all works out. Get a bichon. You won't be disappointed.

I Got my best friend as a rescue from an abusive home and he has changed my life and best of all, he has changed my Heart. I've had many other breeds of dogs in my 62 years but Bichons are simply the best of the best. You never had any better lifelong puppy loving, whether a puppy or old ager, they don't hold back on the sugar.

Visiting one at a rescue today he seems perfect for my family 🥰 hopefully all will go well Edit: he's been home four days and despite a couple of hiccups doing well 😄 Edit: 8 months down the line and I can't imagine love without him 🥰 I love him so much He had a few small issues but I've already worked on one which I'm super proud of

I had to have my little boy put to sleep 5/2/2024 oggy was twelve years old and I am heartbroken he went everywhere with me ,he was a very special boy. Bichon are very special little dogs

House training can be difficult but we did a potty boot camp and it worked for my client. Also they are SO TREAT motivated every time my client pitties outside she’s rewarded. Super smart and playful but mellow af. Had separation anxiety but since she’s so good motivated we worked it out and now she’s a perfect pup. Really love working with her.

My bichon is very loving and sweet towards people. She follows me to every room and knows her place is on my lap. She sleeps with me on my bunk bed every night.she doesn’t she’s much. She was free from my aunt who got her for free off Facebook. She does tilt her head at me when I talk to her and she listens to me. She knows when people are about to leave or when she is going to eat. She is extremely smart and follows me everywhere. She is a perfect dog I’ve had. The only con about her is that she is aggressive towards other dogs. She knows how to sit, lay down and shake. When she is in trouble or knows it’s her bathtime she will come to me when I call her but tucks her tail her legs. She will never run from me.or when I tell her to go to her kennel.she goes.she loves walks.she loves chewing too. She was extremely easy to potty train.people think she is a poodle. Bichon’s are mistaken often for multiPoohs when they are not groomed. I do not take My to the groomer. I just brush her. Tear stains are not hard to clean. My bichon doesn’t like to be alone.she comes with me everywhere.I even take her to school sometimes.she comes to the store with me. She has only gotten sick once and she almost died. But is all better now. I prefer a Bichon if you want one. My dog is actually having puppies soon. Ever since we got more dogs. She has learned to bark and play and to get along with them. Bichon s are awesome breeds if you want a dog to go on the road with you or stores!!!! my baby is even going on the plane with me next month

I got a Bichon Frise by accident. Adopted a dog that thought to be a poodle mix. The foster parent found him living on the street. When he was rescued, the foster parent shaved most of his hair, and since I don't like fluffy hair dogs, I kept it short. After 3 months, I presumed also due to good nutrition and daily intake of fish oil, his hair is now really thick. The groomer is the one who mention it to me. He said the hair texture is like that of a Bichon. And he was right! I then read about Bichon Frise breed, the breed that I didn't like particularly because of the stupid haircuts. The characteristics matched my dog to a T: the separation anxiety, likes to sleep, the head tilt [I love that very much], and the tug-o-war play. Whatever breed he is, I love my dog.

I love this breed! Sadly, I can’t have one due to my schedule and apartment, but growing up, I had the most wonderful bichon named Buddy. He was so snuggly, loving, and just one big puddle of fluff. He could be dead asleep and if you left to go to another room, he would wake up and follow you. Sadly, he has gone over the rainbow bridge, but he truly was the sweetest boy!

this dog is perfect for me because we have a dig with most traits. our dog is a coton de tulear. so I know how to handle one LOL. give it love and care health wise a affection wise. :)

You have to speak Bichon and they will listen. My three bestest baby Bichons have never had an accident when going leelees and looloos. Ask them if they need to go, direct them to the door and they will follow and then tell them to go leelees or looloos. If you speak Bichon they will understand you.

I have a Shih Tzu Bichion puppy. He does require a good amount of exercise otherwise he is always barking and biting. He’s pretty much house broken, taking him out very often is key. He does wake me up barking at 5am though. I wish he’d sleep later, he gets lonely & demands I get out of bed. Ugh lol

I have a 2 year old Bichon. Got her when she was 8 weeks old. She learned potty training really fast. I kept her on a schedule. She does suffer from separation anxiety.

My dog is worth all the cons though i think he might have a bit of social anxiety because he doesn't play with other dogs or interact with them that often

I had one as a kid...we have one now for our daughter. Like any other pet there are pros and cons to everything. Oddly enough the male I had as a kid was potty trained in a few months. The girl we have now is taking a lot longer.

I don’t understand why they always said Bichon is difficulty to train for house breaking. I have 2 bichons and both of them are easily to train for house breaking. I think the most importantly is the owner who own them and train them in the right way. I trained my bichon to learn house breaking rule for 2 weeks. Then they learn it quick and always go to the right area for their business. So, the most importantly it’s the owner and the way you trained them.

It's been a decade since I was last without a dog in the house. My little boy recently passed away and I miss him with my whole soul. He was a little King Charles - quite mischievous and crazy, but we loved him for it. I'm thinking this breed would be good for our next dog and I'm thinking a girl would be best, but it's incredibly hard to feel like it's not a replacement and to feel guilt over loving a new dog. Does anyone have any ideas that might help me? I suffer PTSD, anxiety, depression and EUPD so a lot of what I'm feeling is amplified. I'd just like to have a little new puppy to love me and that I can love. I don't want all this sadness to keep me down and alone..

I got a bichon as my first dog a month ago as a graduation gift. I wanted a golden retriever or a cocker spaniel but since me and my folks were being offered a dog from somebody that we know and not as expensive, my folks wanted to do that idea instead. Anyway, so Max yipped a lot his first time with us and overtime stopped peeing and pooping in the house and more outside. I’m still getting him to stop biting and settle down. I looked up that Bichons are generally healthy dogs but that depends of how the breeding went cause sometimes crossbreeding can cause health issues.

I really want a dog but I have school so I would have to leave it alone at home for at least 6 hours. Is there a way to keep them entertained alone or what can I do?
