CONGRATULATIONS HOB (Heart of Biddeford)! You deserve this honor and I can't wait to celebrate it with you!

Well-deserved award! Way to go Biddeford!

This is one of the main reasons that I love Biddeford. Great to see events held on Main St that make it a destination for people. Car and truck traffic on this corridor contributes to unhealthy air and danger to pedestrians. Next logical step for this is to permanently pedestrianize part of Main St. This is a popular move being done in cities all across the country to make places for people to connect with each other and further support local businesses which in turn will bring further investment from those who want to be part of the place making. The city could easily pilot this by closing Main St. btw. Alfred St. & Washington St. every Saturday & Sunday through the summer. Memorial Day to Labor Day. Much of Main St traffic presently turns left on Alfred. EMS vehicles go up Alfred to get out to the hospital. Cars can easily get to parking lots on Franklin from Jefferson. Using Laconia and York is another bypass and access to back side of businesses.
