OK. Yes, the secret service screwed the pooch by not taking that building into account. However, since it was outside of the venue there was no way that they would be screening anyone that far away. UNLESS, they had indeed considered the building and its potential. BY THE BOOK, they should have had a team on that roof from the start. Therefore, this was a bad call on the part of the secret service and other enforcement agencies. Not withstanding, the potential for someone to "guide them away" from that idea, is not beyond consideration. Since the shooter is dead the trail may well end and we will never know.
