A Presidential Teleprompter is an electronic device used by politicians and public speakers to deliver speeches while mantaining eye contact with their audience without having to memorize their script. January 4, 1954, Dwight Eisenhower was the first President to use a teleprompter for a State of the Union address. The first personal computer-based teleprompter, CompuPrompt appeared in 1982. @@igorwanderer4020We were never part of the nazi army. I hear things like this often and I think it's important to clarify context of Finland's situation during World War II. We were in a very difficult situation as Russia threatened our sovereignty and we basically had no choice but to fight for our survival. Our alliance with Germany was born out of necessity, not ideology. Also, at the time, the full extent of the Nazi regime's atrocities, such as the Holocaust, was not widely known. Finland was forced to choose between a bad and a terrible option. Either align with Germany to resist the Russian invasion or face an occupation and potential loss of sovereignty. It was an existential decision made under dire circumstances, and not an endorsement of Nazi policies or actions. In fact, Finland maintained its own government and military command and was not integrated into the Nazi regime at any point. It's also worth noting that misrepresenting Finland's role in WWII and using the "nazi card" is a common tactic used by Russian propagandist / trolls so beware of those.

WW1 spiraled out of control mostly because of the complex and conflicting treaties and alliances that European countries had with one another. Including a rather consequential secret treaty between the German Empire and the Russian Empire. These treaties were often negotiated asymmetrically and if one party was busy with a war it was more difficult to enforce. NATO simplifies the alliance and makes it public and places members on equal footing in most terms, with the exception of military spending. And enforcement of the treaty can be handled by all members, and there are ways to pressure each other that doesn't immediately jump to an invasion of a non-compliant member. It's just a better system, even if it is not a perfect one.

@@jasunmark4281Depends on if you're an American or not. If you are, then you should be worried we have a President that forgot how to read a teleprompter suddenly after using them for 40 years. But that's the least of our worries, the thing that worries me the most is when his own staff admitted he is very reliable and attentive between the hours of 10am and 4pm. Who is President between 5pm and 9am? Whoever it is I doubt anyone voted for them to make decisions for us.

Representatives of NATO Partners, Ukraine, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, the Republic of Korea and the European Union, are participating; NATO is a military defense alliance, having nothing to do with economy. BRICS is an economical collaboration of countries having nothing to do military defense. ..

Why were the USA so successful in the Cold War? They implemented the Marshall Plan to economically strengthen their partners in Europe. The USA was the largest economy and opened its market to the products of its allies. The USA offered its allies a security umbrella with nuclear deterrence through NATO. This enabled America to push back the influence of the Soviet Union on Europe and ultimately win the Cold War. The alliance between Western Europe and the USA is difficult today. Germany, for example, follows a mercantilist economic model and is therefore dependent on cheap energy and large growth markets. Russia and China can offer both to Western Europe like no other country. The USA, on the other hand, is becoming increasingly less important as an economic partner. And since the collapse of the Soviet Union, Western Europe no longer faces a serious military threat from Russia. Nevertheless, tens of thousands of American soldiers are still stationed in hundreds of US military bases and US nuclear weapons are on German soil. If you look at the situation objectively from the US perspective, America is protecting Europe from the countries with which it has close trade relations. However, Europe's core interest is to further develop its economic relations with the US's biggest competitors. Do not be blinded by the rhetoric of politicians. Feelings, shared history, values, culture and traditions play no role at all in whether alliances really work. What matters is whether interests coincide. And it turns out that today the interests of Europe and the US are no longer compatible and this partnership will soon end.
