Biffa! Im in need of some help here! I have the free update on my xbox and its amazing! The thing is I only have the multistory parking garage, but not the other ones... also, everything from that update doesnt render! I have an xbox series x 💪🏽 and even after refreshing the game or even restarting my xbox, it doesnt seem to render. Perhaps you coul holler at Paradox Interactive to bug fix the xbox version! And also add the othe 2 parking spaces, i would love these. Would apreciate it!

Thanks for the reply, those are the instructions I’ve followed. It’s now being reported on the paradox forums - mods not loading at game start, then they load in a disabled state, so start a new map with a mod enabled, crash to desktop. Start the game again, mod list is empty. It’s game breaking and appears to be related to a .cgs file. Thanks for the advice, though.

I was super hyped for the shopping malls but the growables didn’t wow me as much as I thought they would. I do love the unique buildings on the hand. And surprisingly love the sports arenas! It’ll be nice to add the smaller parks to my school areas and have more neighborhood sports parks. It’s finally time to put the tennis and basketball court to rest

Idk I don't mind having some more low-density building types in the game. Big extravagant buildings and skyscrapers are cool, but for little towns or suburbs these are more on point

@@Myne1001 I like that they’re lower commercial since that’s what I mainly use too but they’re very… plain I guess? King Leno is pretty known for making replicas of irl places and I suppose they didn’t want to make that for an official part of the game but some of the stores in the malls are knock offs of irl stores so… I suppose with mods you can add signs to the assets

@@MellowGirl2000 Yeah I think they're lacking in any signage, so to me they look more like offices than commercial. Which is weird, because he's done a great job with the signs in the outdoor malls.

@@MellowGirl2000 I noticed that they looked bare also, but I think when they actually grow (instead of being plopped as Biffa did to show them) they'll have signs pulled randomly from the assets the game normally uses for commercial buildings.

For a 8 year old game about to be replaced with 2.0, they are really pushing great dlc! Especially with the mall and the stadium dlcs, time to remove some workshop assets finally

True, though *most* of the latest DLCs are just asset packs... not modifications to the game engine. And I don't mean to trivialise the work of the asset creators, but adding new assets is low-risk... it's not going to create problems the way engine changes might.

I'm not sure it's going to be a real replacement, but the best modders will likely transition to 2, so it's good that they add stable assets in a wider variety for those who stay behind.

A last hurrah pretty much and honestly I wouldn't be surprised if some of these assets will be in CS2 just in higher quality. The realism of them is exciting since base game looks awful and cartoony now. So nice they're taking a far more realistic approach now.

@@Arkiasis as we all know graphics are the least important aspect of a game, and a stylized look is a quadrillion times better than realistic graphics. No game with a realistic graphic style ever looked good 8 years later. Whereas stylized games can look good 30 years down the line. Warcraft being one of the most prominent example of a masterpiece stylized graphic style.

Out of everything (most of which looks fantastic) my fav items are the ugly concrete multistorey car park which is gonna look great in British builds, and that funny little 2-space 'public parking' lot, which you'll be able to fit alongside small park side gates to give visitors somewhere to park. Both just feel like realistic additions that will help citizens get around and park where they need to.

The 4th building in the “Africa in Miniature” looks like it is based on the Alice Lane Towers in Sandton, Johannesburg. Though the back of the building is more recognisable. The “Botanical Museum“ looks like it is inspired by the “Museum of Contemporary Art“ in Cape Town, which is a converted grain silo. Can’t wait to put all these new buildings in my city!

At 16:12 is the Afrikaans Language Monument in South Africa, Afrikaans is one of 11 languages spoken in South Africa. I myself speak Afrikaans. At 17:04 is based on an 80+ year old Grain silo in Cape Town South Africa that was transformered into an art museum.

I appreciate you talking about the mods being impacted and sharing what that subreddit post says. Not many people will know about this but they should. I remember when the last major updates came to the game, I I wasn't playing for a long time, so when I came back when the updates arrived I was caught off-guard with all the mods not working. I was very surprised to hear that many of the main mod creators are no longer doing it, but it's great to see new people taking on creating and maintaining these mods for the cities skylines community.

I love the way you do these updates biffa. Laying out the assets in isolation makes them much easier to see than when they are used in a city and highlighted with a small arrow. My vision isn’t brilliant so I find your approach far more accessible. :)

The 3 lane one way with the bus lane is the airports DLC road in front of the terminals, they finally added it for regular use

Late summer for these. Then the ones we get this June will be remastered in fall. So might have few months before 2 comes out. Sucks, I was really hyped to build on a25 tile map i made. Last interest in the game completely over it tbh

That spider and snake building is the Royal Museum in Foumban, Cameroon and does exist, pretty much exactly like that :)

10/10 DLC, with all these new modern buildings I can definitely see it in Cities Skylines 2, example, the new ship docks, new metro stations, look a lot different to the ones we got years ago, the aesthetic is changing, now that Cities Skylines 2 is real, they are making better buildings concepts into Cities Skylines 1 for realism enjoyers. All theses new stuff are like small percentage of what is going to be in Cities Skylines 2. They finally added proper parking lots, now modders can do some cool stuff with it.

It’s great that trolleybus routes can now have higher capacity. My transit lines always get more ridership than i first expected so it will be extremely handy.

I'm so happy the tram hub has the metro line perpendicular to the tram road. I was worried it would be parallel which would mean the direction of lines would be redundant

About the only hub-like thing they haven’t made, which I still hope we see, is airport monorail (and Tram) stations for Airports + Mass Transit. These are two forms of airport transit that would be really nice to integrate with an airport terminal in the base game!

as a Dane, having a country with a very old story with car ferries, i do miss that in the game. Would love to see cars waitin on a kind of "parking lane" area, before driving on and off the ferry, in the harbour. Pedestrian ferries is too "American" to me, though very pretty asset

I think its a shrewd move to bring in some free updates for everyone just after the CS2 announcement. Maybe it allays some of the frustrations of "will we have to buy it all again?" when you see them continue to be committed to CS1

Of the Content Creator packs, the one that really wows me is the Stadiums and parks. I love adding all sorts of parks to my cities and as much as there are some good ones in the Workshop, these ones look super cool. The one with the 4 baseball fields looks really cool and would fit in really well in any North American themed city

To put Biffa’s mind at rest, Aussie rules football is played on cricket pitches, the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) being a classic example. Put AFL stadiums in Blighty all you like.

this is literally my dream update for console play, there are so many things I have wanted for the past 6 years on xbox in this update, asymmetrical roads i have been dreaming of, 4 lane two way highways, PARKING LOTS, more hubs. They could delay cities skylines 2 until 2024 and I would still be happy to just play this now until then, so many things i can finally do that I have wanted to do. Thank you colossal team for all the work you have put into this game,

15:59 - that monument is heavily based on the Monument in Paarl, Western Cape, near Cape Town, South Africa. Its quite literally got 3 of the same main features, those 3 domes, the water under the main spire and the spire itself. Nice research and assets from Paradox as usual.

THATS what the new fence looks like? Wow, something went really wrong with the console version of that fence. I'm the most excited for the tram/monorail streets and bus-only expressways, weirdly enough. That solves so many transit tangles for me.

That Park Monument is called the "Taal Monument" or Language Monument. It is a monument erected in Paarl, Western Cape, South Africa to celebrate the afrikaans language (Offshoot of Dutch), check out the real version. Pretty stunning.

It's easier to be negative over things that were not included rather than be positive about things that are. I'm happy to see new content, but I would have loved to have seen hockey arenas in the sports DLC. It's hard to find a large neighbourhood or small town in Canada without an arena and every small city has a number of large rinks. It's by no means a dealbreaker and I bought the three DLCs this morning. Thanks for the tour Biffa, and especially for pointing to the advice to keep our modded cities running.

the Africa pack is great! the Sahel monument is indeed a real place, and the Botanical Museum is based on the Silo Hotel and Zeitz Mocca Museum of Contemporary African Art in Cape Town

Aussie rules is played on cricket pitches which is why they are all oval - it's a winter game. In the summer the pitches are used for cricket.

Love the new sports venues - especially the park versions too - great additions to the tennis and basketball courts. As a console and vanilla player I was hoping the multi-story car park would function as a car park as opposed to a normal park asset but it already has a place in my city and does look good. The smaller open-air parking lots are not available on console though which is disappointing as I was hoping to replace some of my Green Cities growables with these. New asymmetric roads and transport hubs are also greatly received and I’m looking forward to upgrading my existing cities with them. 😊

The four lane two way highway as well as the asymetric highway roads were only available via Vanilla+ pack. It's awesome to finally have them without workshop 🤩. I use the first one as ring road in my current city which works pretty good 😌.

That really cool Silo in the Africa pack is The Silo Hotel in the VNA Waterfront in Cape Town. A really fancy hotel and super cool restoration project. I see a whole build designed around this building 🎉

I'm absolutely amazed by how all these stuffs looks realistic! I just want to re-install Cities Skyline on my computer and start a new amazing city on my own ! The developers are amazing, as much as the community. Can't wait for Cities Skyline 2 !

And see the last content pack creator (Africa) makes me remember that it's hard to create a different country style city. I always tried to create a old french rural city (where i spend my life) but it's hard to find good assets. I hope Cities Skyline 2 will make assets and countries styles easier to use. Maybe have more asian, european, african, south american or whatever culture possibilities !

Great video as always Biffa - showing just the new features by update/DLC is really informative. I have the H&T update and will be getting the Sports venues/ shopping malls shortly. The updates look great but as a console player I am a little disappointed that we don't get all of the hubs and transport stuff - particularly the "Quality of Life" stuff. Also noted that the H&T update is not applied to the PS5 remastered version.

Too many comments to scroll through to see if this has been addressed, yet, but the second pair of small buildings in the Africa collection -- the ones with the blue tiles -- remind me of an article I read recently. It involved a museum in Morocco, I believe, and an attempt to copyright a color (the blue). It's possible this is related, if not the exact building.

I hope with C:S2 that the transport hubs and stations are more modular. Almost like with the airport terminals imagine the new ferry terminal with monorail station but you can swap it out for a train or metro station. Same with the new metro hub, whilst it’s amazing having a underground, at ground and above ground right next to each other it’s probably only got a few use cases. I’d love stations you can built yourself and add platforms as you need to.

Ok so I'm guessing the two new monuments in the Africa DLC seem to function similar tp the Hadron Collider? Since they have the "Disable University Boost" option I assume its an education-related building.

The spider and snakes building is based on a real museum in Cameroon. I'm not sure what's it called, but I guess with some Google finagling it'll be pretty easy to get quite a bit more info.

I believe you missed a QOL addition: there's an "empty park" asset now (8x12) that allows you to get proper park bonuses for your DIY parks. It also functions as a "cheese" in the game when there's a stubborn building complaining about land value: you can park this asset over any other building (no pun intended) and even stack them for more effect. So if you really really put a lot of effort in your park, you can reward yourself by stacking multiple ones of this asset on your park. (there's also an "empty intersection" but I have no clue what that would be used for...) EDIT: it would appear that these two assets came with the update of last weekend, not with today's update.

I believe you missed 2 stadium stations which are variants of the one you showed, accessible through the variants button when you click on the station. They also are designed after different stadiums
