There's only one referee in a crew, and he's the one wearing a white hat. If you see on the official's back there was a U, that stands for umpire in the crew, and he was also wearing a black hat, not a white one. The referee has an R on his back.

You don't know how much time and work major (and minor) college officials put into the game. From getting to the city the night before, the meetings that evening, to game day and the meeting before and after the game. They do a great job nd if you think you can do better then start (like we all did) in Jr High and proceed up. Most of the college officials have at least one state final came under their belts before they are even considered for college. So unless you are in your early 20's - forget it.

@@davidcurtis5398 Hockey for a decade, youth up to college. Now I’m in my first year of football officiating doing line judge and linesman for JV games. It’s a great learning experience.

That's not our job, though. That's THEIR job. Just because we aren't officials doesn't mean they're any less subject to criticism. And yea, they suck ass.

Yes he’s the alternate. So if any official gets hurt and can’t continue, he would take his spot on the field. You always have one extra man than needed just in case

You call it as it happens no matter when and where,you don't play favorites call what is and not what is not. Don't receive special favors and dinners stay unbiased and unconnected to anyone. This is where favoritism starts and corruption......

Is this a parody? Big12 officiating is horrible. "We just need to focus on getting the little things right", are you f'ing kidding!? They've made huge mistakes that have had an effect on the outcome of games. THEY BETTER FOCUS ON GETTING THOSE THINGS RIGHT!!!
