BlackBeardGoat Jr I have a similar sized motor on which I’m going to film different ways to strip the copper out. .... sometime
@rossbrumby1957 Жыл бұрын
Today I was given 2 older dead solar inverters- probably 5kw models. I stripped them out, aluminium lids, large ally heat sinks on the sides, that's ok, but the heavy gauge copper windings once cut off the steel cores netted me 15.5kg for the two inverters. Here in South Aussie that roughly equals AU$140- $150 if the price is still up. I'm working towards a 1 tonne payday so if the price is low now it wont matter to me. The newer inverters are made harder to scrap as the copper windings are set in a rubbery compound inside a cast ally case. You'd have to melt the ally off in a fire and burn away the rubbery stuff leaving the copper a lower grade.

@tinknal64495 жыл бұрын
@@hvacdoc2338 Projected need for copper far out paces production capacity by 2022. This is even if every mine and every planned mine is operating at full capacity. The reason is the push for electric cars and wind electricity generation. These things require massive amounts of copper.
@BeachsideHank5 жыл бұрын
Cut the wired butt end of the coils off like you did, leave the clean side intact. With the stator vertical, slip a rod through opposite winding loops. Locate a bit of heavy timber twice the length of the stator, now you're going to drop the stator like a pile driver onto the timber which is propped vertical. Work your way around the winding nest changing the rod location, it will all come off rather easily and neatly with not much effort. ☺
