-16 Sec WNW Swell with strong east wind and low-tide at 6:52 am was a good call to check out the waves around Ericeira.
-All morning was working, so i filmed from low-tide to mid.
-Ocean temperature was 15.6°C / 60 Fahrenheit, Sunrise at 8:00 am.
-Few cleanup-sets (3 in 2 hours), 6 guys out max and a few epic tubes!
-Definetly the best swell of the year sofar! : )
-Few local guys tried their best, big respect for them!

That’s my biggest fear when surfing. Copping a big set like that on the head and the next one is bigger too. We are so insignificant out there. Great footage 🤘🤘

while freediving you can stay minutes underwater. to freedive you need to practice meditation and relax the heart rate and so theres no danger at all, the same goes to big surfing, just relax and be calm as in a room but rather dont risk your ass doing this masoquistic thing

What are y'all's opinions about ditching your board? I know this was an empty lineup, but i rarely ditch in anything under 15' waves. That lip's gotta be gnarly and about to destroy me. I feel like a deep duck dive is virtually the same, as far as how far inside i get pushed, if i execute properly, though it requires much more energy. But, breaking your leash on situations like this .. SUCKS, at best, and is always critical. What say ye?!

the waves were so huge and powerful today, i don't think it would be better to try anything else besides bailing, even with the chance of snapping the leash, and this is low tide rocky bottm

I would hang on to my board for dear life but would never surf that size anyway. I like a good wave as much as the next lad but 4-5 solid will do me at max. Anything bigger is just not fun for me

@@SurfRawFiles this is the new way to get the highest number of likes possible. Nor can surfers have exclusive access to clips through their private sessions and their videographers. the stupidity of showing and still promoting the place hours later is ruining everything! By the way, you must have made money and whoever took a 4 meter wave on the head won't make anything. next time introduce yourself to the beach and we explain how things work there.
