This is an amazing video! Thank you for this! I was told I have a big baby, they now scheduled me for an induction, I'm 40weeks. i'm 4'11 and hubby is 6'5. So, idk. I'm still gonna try to do it naturally. My first one was just 7.1lbs it was 9yrs ago though. I know I can do this! I will take my worries away! Update: I gave birth to a healthy baby, he's 9 lbs and 4 oz, vaginal delivery. I pushed for 40 minutes. Thank God! If you set your mind into it, you can really do it!!!

2 of my 9 were large. My 4th was 9lbs 12oz (military hospital) and my 8th was 11lbs (homebirth). I'm only 5'2" so I was huge. Surprisingly short labors, 3 and 4hrs, and no tears. Weird thing, I passed my GD tests, they were just big. Their dad is only 5'8".

My 1st child I had no idea what to expect. Was told she was measuring normal. And would be about 6lbs. I did not have gestational diabetes. She was 9lbs 6 and suffered a brachial plexus injurie due to her shoulders getting stuck. She's 14 now and still deals with the after affects of her not being c-section. Years of therapy, and 5 surgeries to try to fix her muscles and nerves afterwords. I did not fall into any on the normal categories that people think of with big babies. My 2nd child was 9.11, and 3rd was 8.6. Both of which we chose to have a c-section to avoid injuries. I'm only 5'3" normal bmi before all my pregnancies. My husband 5' 7" and not obese. Just wanted to share that not always is it that easy to judge the right corse of action. I live with the guilt of my daughters injury daily. Shoulder distoja is a real risk and you should listen to your health care provider.

@foggymorrnning9319 So your healthcare provider could not detect that your first baby was big and would be a shoulder dystocia, yet you recommend listening to your provider to prevent shoulder dystocia….

thanks for sharing ! in a similar situation! it’s important to listen to your intuition and make sure you take an informed decision. Not sure why it’s just a badge of honour to give birth naturally and put your baby at risk. I want what’s best for my baby and her future ! in the UK it’s the opposite, you need to fight for a C-section. 😢. People don’t care in general to listen to your entire story especially when you dealt with miscarriage and infertility. Wish you all the best momma! Treat yourself with kindness, you did the best you could at that time with all the knowledge you had. blessings to you and your kid! ❤

My doctor is trying to get me to induce on my due date because my baby is tracking to be 8lbs 7oz by then. No other health issues like gestational diabetes or anything like that. She wanted to induce at 39 weeks but they don’t have any appointments available. Told her I didn’t want to unless there was a medical reason and she said his size was the reason. (Even though my other doctor told me a few weeks ago that they didn’t induce just for a baby’s size!) Then said we should at least tentatively look at dates since my due date is so close to the holidays. I agreed to tentatively look at dates while I thought about the induction, but it wasn’t so tentative. She sent me straight to the surgery scheduler who already had a printed out appointment confirmation of the date and time I’d be induced. All decided without me. I go back tomorrow (at 38 weeks 6 days) and plan to tell her to cancel it unless she has an actual medical reason to induce me. Definitely feel like she pushed me into it

@@Wellroundedmomma1 Still no baby yet. I’m 41 weeks and 4 days, so they’re going to induce me tomorrow as they don’t allow patients to go past 42 weeks. Ob gyn did a sweep today without even asking or letting me know, so once this little one is born I’m never going back to them again. It’s been rough, but hoping to have a baby in my arms soon enough! :)

My son got stuck and he was 9 pound 10 ounces came out very chunky. I believe on top of that the got my due date wrong as it was the 3rd of much but then changed to the 23rd. After I hit the 3rd of March I felt so big and he had lots of reduced movements I was finally induced on the 12th and had him on the 13th I truly think if I had waited until the 23rd or even longer i dont think he would have made it and that was my gut feeling. I’m just so glad he is healthy and happy.

My 1st son was 9.5lb and 2nd son 11.11lb. Both normal births and healthy boys. I was 8.5lb before both pregnancies and am 5ft 6in tall. Their father 6ft 3in tall was an 8.5lb twin and his twin sister 8lb. His little sister 10lb. My grandkids were all over 9lb. I blame my mother in law..😊

I’m pregnant with my second and I’m actually due in 3 weeks. At 34 weeks I was measuring 6 1/2 lbs with her. My daughter wasn’t far behind in those measurements and they never deemed her big. They also said she would weigh 9 lbs and she was only 7.8. I have to rotate through 6 OBs where I’m at and the one I truly love explained the risks, but she’s totally on board with delivering her naturally. She told me I’d probably receive some pushback from other OBs and I have. They’ve already tried scaring me into a c-section. She said the ultrasounds can be way off in measurments and I know that from experience. I also did great in my first labor, I only had 2 little stitches from some minor tears. Idk. It’s just been so discouraging and making me feel like I can’t do this. I read a very in depth article on statistics and basically no matter how you cut it, it’s always “either it will happen or it won’t” and it doesn’t matter what your pregnancy looks like. At the end of the day, that’s just life. No one can predict an outcome lol.

My 1st was my smallest baby and she got stuck. But she was still higher 8lbs, my son was higher than her in the 8lbs almost 9lbs but he was fine. Now with #3 baby is 37w in the 93rd percentile. And on track to be 9lbs by 39th week. Im only 5'1 and my dr doesn't seem too worried about me delivering vaginally, but my mil is alittle concerned about me and seems to kinda push for planned c.

This is my first pregnancy and my son is measuring 9 days ahead (97th percentile). My partner is 5'7 even though he was born at around 10lbs, he had some sort of calcium deficiency when he was a child which may have caused him to not be as tall as his older brother and sister. Also his 18yr old son weighed over 10lbs and is indeed taller than his dad and skinny. I'm getting a glucose tolerance test on Monday to rule out gestational diabetes but I'm fairly confident that my boy is just big due to genetics.

I hope your baby is healthy. My man is 6'2 and both my boys were 9 pounds and I had no problems and both are very healthy. I think genetics definitely can play a part in having a bigger baby. I myself am 5'4 so I'm not tall.

My babies were bigger. Lexi was 9lb7 at 40+2 and Hallie was 9lb15 at 39+2. I was scared into getting an induction with my youngest due to the fact my baby was going to be a bigger baby. I pushed out my eldest with no issues, I only needed an episiotomy. Would I be fine telling my midwives I want no medical interventions and to let my body do what it's meant to do next time?
