I grew up watching Your Dad, Bill Dance and Shaw Grigsby on Saturday mornings. When I got old enough to fish I did, grew up in Green Cove Springs, Florida and fished as much as possible. Fast forward and I’m 52 now and get still out as much as I can, in fact was scheduled to be there on Okeechobee this weekend but the weather just came in and kicked my plans. From the looks of it, I should’ve still went. But come mid-February it’s game on!! Hope to see you or your family around Scott. Thank you for the time you take to give all of us pointers from your great arsenal of information. Tight lines and be safe.

Chad is an awesome guide. My wife and I enjoyed being on the lake last Saturday with him. Only two bass & one catfish each but way better than being back home in Illinois!!

I’m 48 now but when I was a kid my good buddy’s dad took the three of us fishing on Lake Okeechobee in 1990. We tried fishing by ourselves for the first couple days, and those huge bass wrecked all our gear and broke our poles. For the last day we hired a guide. His name was Tennessee. He got us on the fish and we each caught one ranging from 8-10 lbs. It was the best fishing trip ever. That lake is special and should be protected. Awesome vid!

The worst part about these is that you can’t see where they’re casting it (or where the bait itself is landing). Regardless, it’s always fun to watch these. I just watched that video of his dad teaching flipping fundamentals, that I swear was fake (I say that in jest). But, I absolutely love Roland. But, I swear, there was a pen under the brush he was fishing that had ten 10lb'ers. He just HAPPENED to pull up to a random spot of super heavy brush, and was pulling out absolutely HUGE fish one after another, complete with a broken rod. It was very "Bill Dance-esq". He wasn't even casting, just dropping the bait in, and bam "Oh, what do you know, there's a 12lb bass!" It was really funny, but incredibly fun to watch. My wife and I were rolling. But, I grew up watching Roland. His energy is absolutely infectious.....you can see it in Scott, as well. I remember when Roland first started filming on that Okeechobee scene. No one had heard of it, other than Floridians. He was doing segments on balloon fishing back then. Scott must've been younger than even I was when watching that. Oh, the memories. Still haven't gotten out on Okeechobee...but, will this winter, guaranteed....so, I'm researching where to launch, and the good spots. I'd settle for a day of 3-5lb bass, if nothing else. Scott’s energy, and positive vibes are so much like his father. It’s great to see him carrying on the legacy, and he’s just a fun to watch.

Scott, your dad was a teacher and explains his fishing videos so well. His teaching skills have certainly rubbed off on you because you explain everything on your videos like your dad. Best of luck in your 2022 Elite tournaments. 🎣🐟

Excellent video ! Scott ya`ll caught some awesome bass, Congratulation ! All my life i been told if you want to catch some big bass go to Florida or Lake Okeechobee. I was raise up in southwest Arkansas all of my life and i have caught some nice bass but not even a 4 lbs. bass, mainly more bass instead of big bass. Hey on the other hand my dad was a big bass fisherman and he has really caught some big one here. Good luck and best wishes on your next fishing trip ! I would really like to watch you win the Bassmaster Classic like your father Roland Martin did so many year ago. When i was in school back in the 70`s my best friend and i would wish we could fish the Redman Tournament Trail because that what you had to do to be able to fish the Bassmaster.

I learned a lot from your video. I'm a salt water guy seeking lots more how-to information on making the transiition to bass fishing.. The catching part was excellent but for me it would have been helpful for you to discuss in some detain at least one time for each rig used the rod/lure specifics ie. lure-weight-hook-trailer-skirt etc. and then note the configuration you are using each time your switch rods. Also I'm very interested in learning more about the specific vegetation you are fishing and when to target it.

Hey Scott, LOVE watching your videos. I have taken up bass fishing in Australia because of your videos. Australian bass seem to be a bit harder to catch. Can you do a gear video and go over rods and reels? I hear mixed things. Some say as light as possible and use 4lb and some say use 15lb +

Listening to you about your electronics I was hoping to get your honest opinion I fish the California delta only and never go to lakes and there are spots you get 20-30 foot holes but majority of the River is under 10-15 feet would you spend the money on that high-end sonar for live imaging or just a regular graph?

Scott Martin : it's a giant guys it's a giant this thing is absolutely massive look at the ripples on the water it's a freaking giant guys I just can't stress it enough this thing is bigger than the skeeter ... 2 hours later : guys I've caught a gizzard shad but that's OK it just shows how this lake filters itself and produces nuclear energy so the bass can hibernate near the Ramada Inn
