Join us in this episode for a trip way down south to Big Bend National Park, a place so remote that "most Texans don't even visit." This is a beautiful park that we explored on a scenic drive, a stroll through the canyon overlooking the Rio Grande and a hike to the top of a beautiful peak. Check out the views from the Ross Maxwell Scenic drive, the Santa Elena Canyon Trail and the Lost Mine Trail. Plus join us as we "try a little bite" at an amazing food truck (Tri La Bite) you'll want to visit if you're in the area. As always, stick around for our usual JUST FOR FUN bloopers and silliness at the end. Let's go!
We welcome your positive, encouraging comments and appreciate you liking and sharing our videos, which helps us grow our channel. Thank you in advance for your support in what we are doing!

I just came back, unfortunately I didn’t get to do these hike. But my son, granddaughter, and two of my best friends did enjoy Black Gap Pass (Jeep Badge of Honor Trail), Hot Spring, the Dinosaur Exhibit, and Balancing Rock. I can’t wait to go back!

I finally got out to Big Bend in 2022, as a southern hiker from TN. My GSMNP gets more visitors in like 2-3 weeks than Big Bend NP does all year. Amazing how remote it is out there.

Thanks for watching our video. We hope you enjoyed your time at Big Bend. We loved it. You are right. It is remote, but so worth the effort to get there. We are originally from Arkansas, and we have visited the Smokies many times. What a beautiful place you have there to play in. What are some of your favorite hikes in the GSMNP?

I loved this episopde ! I lived in Texas for over 10 years and I never heard of Big Bend. Guess I was just a city boy. Mountains in Texas ! Who would have thought. "You see that mountain over there? Yeah? Well, one of these days I'm going to climb that mountain".

People told us it was a well-kept secret, and that most Texans had never visited there. It looks like they were right. So glad you are following along and enjoying the videos.

You discover the most beautiful places! Big Bend did not disappoint. My top 5: 1. Scenic drive was beautiful. 2. Canyon and water views on the Santa Elena trail. 3. That Prada store - so unusual and strange. 4. The spectacular views on the Lost Mine trail. 5. Food truck meal- all the food looked delicious.

Thanks for following our journey, Matt. Big Bend was just an amazing place. It was huge, as you would expect a park in Texas to be. We are so glad we got off the beaten path to visit this park. It was well worth the drive to get there.

Yeah, we were so surprised by this park. We didn't know the Texas border with Mexico had an area that looked like this. So glad to be able to visit this park.

Great job! The canyon was dry as a bone when we were there so it's good to see it flowing! Good stuff. Keep on sharing!

Thanks! Oh, wow! We can't even imagine it being dry. Does that happen regularly? It was certainly pretty when we were there.

@Mission: America I would think that rarely happens. It was unusually hot and dry last year. We were able to walk quite a ways up the canyon. It's definitely a unique experience. Big Bend has a lot to offer. Happy Travels!

Hi Jimmy and Paula. Great Video. I see you're in a camper/RV. Will the parking at Santa Elena Canyon Trail accomodate a 32 ft RV?
@MissionAmerica
@MissionAmerica 9 ай бұрын
Thanks! We are not sure about the parking. If we remember correctly, it was a smaller parking lot, and we are not sure that your camper would fit. Sorry that we can't be more helpful.

We loved finding ya'lls channel and Big Bend since we want to try and visit late winter. Would 3 days do justice to the park? We love to hike modest trails and wildlife photography and wondered how much wildlife you encountered? It looks great for landscape shots. What camera equipment do you use, it looks fantastic. Thanks

Thank you so much! We loved Big Bend NP! It is a beautiful park, and it is huge. I think three days is plenty of time in the park. You can do a lot if you hustle. The only wildlife I remember seeing were the wild horses, and that was such a treat. We may have seen a coyote as well. For our videos, we used the GoPro Hero 10 and the iPhone 14. Be prepared for the weather. One of our days in the park was really cold, and we were not expecting that this far south. Have a great time exploring this amazing park!

You definitely have to go to Big Bend. It is an amazing park. We did camp in the park at the Rio Grande Village RV Campground. It was just a paved parking lot with electric hookups. The other campground is much nicer, but it doesn't have electricity.
