Miku is an instrument though, not a sample - so royalties definitely wouldn't be involved. Although I'm completely unaware of how the image/name licensing works so maybe that's why they chose not to include 'her' in the credits/title.

The only way someone is getting paid royalties on the sample is if it in fact is a sample. As in, there is original content out already with the exact same Miku vocals. If it is created from scratch using the instrument then no royalties.

Am I the only one who would want an entire album with this sound? I mean the hip-hop genre has always been inspired by the asian culture, from Wu-Tang to last years Ka Honor killed the Samurai. Some traditional oriental instrumentation, with some fire drum loops on top of that.

If anybody could pull that of it would be Outkast. They always had concept albums from their debut where they were pimps to ATLiens where the main theme were aliens. If they could come back with an album where they make the samurai bushido a metaphor for the rap game, now that would be awesome.

xJoBoy to some extent lyrically, but not really instrumentally. I mean RZA made 36 chambers a classic with those beats, but they weren´t exactly inspired by Asian culture, a lot of them were just American Jazz samples.
