It's true ... people fainted at the sight of this man... off stage , even. And 'onstage', hundreds fainted ; grown men cried. MJ was something special God put on this earth; see, it's mind boggling to me that 5 years olds loved him and 85 year olds did too. If you weren't here during the 80s , you won't get it; indescribable.

Anyone that compares Michael Jackson’s fame to anyone now was just not alive to witness it. He may have been one the most famous human beings in history. Sure artists will come along in the streaming and social media era and break his records eventually, but in the era of traditional media his fame was mind boggling. There are people in remote villages that know of Michael Jackson. I don’t think anyone will ever reach even close to that level again, and frankly given how it turned out for him, I hope no one else does.

Theres people still to these days that still think mj was just 'famous'... He was more than that. The biggest celebs of their day were wanting autographs from him. Heads of states, Prime minister, Presidents, journalists, police etc all wanted his autograph and to get near to him. If you put Beyonce, Taylor, Drake, and everyone else together theyd still only have have the fame and impact he had. If he announced a concert tomo at same time as these other artists he'd outsell them quicker and on a scale that would shock even them. Dont wcer underestimate his impact it was huge over all generations, classes, colours and ages.

To compare anyone to MJ is just ridiculous. Either you like him or not but we all can't deny his monstrous talent and monstrous fame. He does not have an equal and just like big boy said, I lived it also. I m 36 now but I remember when he came to my country ( Czech Republic - Prague) I have never seen something like that, not just the capital city but the whole country was upside down...you could feel his presence anywhere in that land. When he left the city looked like after world War. When the president of Czech Republic shook Michaels hand the president shit pants.

@@Kamkammmmm so much to say about Janet. Think about how hard it is to follow in his footsteps. So many things not in her favor despite thinking “oh she Michael Jackson sister she had it easy”. Far from the truth. Look at Latoya. She’s proof that being in that family as a woman was terrible. Look at MJ and the damage Joe did to him. Take the other members of the Jackson 5. None of them went solo successfully. Michael clearly carried them. This didn’t benefit Janet the odds of being successful was low bc you’re getting compared to MJ. Its impossible. She made her own way based off talent. Nothing was given to her. She was a star in her own right. No one has ever referred to Janet Jackson as Michael Jackson sister and (im glazing her a bit) thats noteworthy being as he is the king of pop. MJ is the undisputed top entertainer and I don’t whoever you put at second is even close. So yeah Janet was big talent. Also let’s not forget about Whitney and Mariah. Mariah wrote all her songs herself. That’s insane when you think how many #1 hits and weeks at #1 she spent. No doubt Janet helped create that market for female artist. Idk Beyoncé just isn’t it for me.

As huge as Beyoncé is (yes she has an effect) but it still doesn’t match MJ. I remember seeing a clip of MJ just standing on his hotel balcony and a sea of people had gathered in the street to see him wave. Just WAVE. They spent the night in the street chanting his name all night. I’ve also never seen another artist have people fainting at their concerts the way Michael did. GROWN MEN at that!

Please don't get me wrong, but when someone thinks that anyone is on MJ's level and that be it Beyonce or anyone will get that same crazy reception anywhere they go - I can tell that this is a very American opinion 😂. I don't even know if this is true in America, but as an Eastern European I can *definitely* say that this is not true outside of it. These modern western artists are simply not as famous as they used to be anymore, nowadays even Kpop acts generate more hype and enthusiasm on fandom level, while beyond that and among general public they're all pretty much irrelevant, and I mean all of them. Especially TS. People are in awe of her fame now cause her fandom moves a *bit* like a Kpop fandom and they haven't seen this in a while lol, but she's not it among gp. Meanwhile Michael was - AND STILL IS - a household name among everyone of all age. Someone just needs to wear certain type of socks for people to bring him up lol

Diana Ross and Berry Gordy, Motown's CEO had an affair that time when Jackson 5 signed a contract with Motown... his brothers performed for the people there during an event where they first saw Diana Ross, who at that time was Motown's muse
