Heavy rains in North Karnataka has paralyzed normal life of people. Several villages have been inundated due to floods. NDRF team has rescued people stranded due to floods. Belagavi, Vijayapura and Raichur are the worst affected districts. Excess water has been released to river Krishna from Maharashtra's Koyna dam and Pavana Dam. Over 3 lakh cusecs if water has been released from Karnataka's Narayanapura dam. Heavy rains have lashed Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, Shivamoggam Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu and other districts. People have been evacuated to safer places.
