In a way you could just hitchhike inside the boat in the shipping container. That way you're still technically making the Atlantic crossing in the smallest vessel

I think it's a bad idea to have (effectively) a spinnaker type set up limiting your direction of sail. I do wish you well however and hope you prove me wrong.

Shes just over a metre long, Tom who designed this had the record for the exact trip, in a slightly longer vessel - this was designed for this route and we've taken everything into account to make this go as well as it can. Believe me there been hundreds of hours of looking and researching weather patterns for the route and this seems the best overall.

There won't be any waves. The Atlantic will be millpond flat with a steady 12 mph westerly breeze all the way.

Well Kyle that would be nice, but shes designed for the Atlantic by Tom McNally who held this exact record in a slightly larger vessel, and had tested many different options of rigs, and this one worked by far the best. Ive sailed thousands of miles in vessels and across the Atlantic, in a 21ft mini transat, but have bowed to his knowledge on this as hes done it.
