The best way is to use White lithium which is a thickener derived from petroleum. Thicker than silicone lubricant, white lithium grease firmly adheres to metal surfaces. It keeps the parts moisture-free and acts as rustproofing. WD 40 is just a hack not a solution and so is with other things like normal grease or soap

@@ninjazshadowopnot really. Wd40 pulls out moisture but isn't a long term barrier. This hinge needs to be thoroughly cleaned, dried and lubed with grease ( lithium grease is better). Whether you use wd40 while cleaning is your choice but that doesn't matter much.
