In this video I take you up close and personal with the ROG Strix RTX 4090 OC Graphics Card with an unboxing, comparison with the 3000 series and also a feature inside the Lian Li O11 Air Mini!
The 4090 OC from ASUS ROG Strix is an absolute animal. It's sheer size and presence are intimidating, but for what it can achieve, it's truly stunning, a technological masterpiece!
You know I'm not here to give the benchmarks, there's a hundred other channels for that. I'm here to inspire and test hardware as part of Gaming PC builds. I couldn't resist the urge to see just how small of a case it would fit inside of... Low and behold, the O11 Air mini! With around 4mm to spare, the Strix 4090 fits perfectly!
Airflow is excellent, providing plenty of cooling throughout the case. Temps during a gaming session following this video never peaked over 64c on the GPU and 45c on the CPU (Intel i7 12700k). Very impressive indeed!

Overall I'm stoked with how this build came together following the unboxing. Over the next week I'll be putting the RTX 4090 from ROG through it's paces to see what it can achieve for gaming and productivity!

Guys, for all of those commenting “does the side panel fit on” or “you didn’t put it on because it won’t fit” - the side panel is fitted at 4:06 4:31 5:22 & 5:49. There’s enough clearance and the temps are perfect 👌

Sadly not Mack! The Z11 only supports GPU’s with a max length of 320mm 😞

Gpu is already a pc in itself with vram instead of ram, chip in the middle, and having a a pcb board as well, with cooling fans and heatsink

I put my 3090 founders edition on my 280x corsai crystal series case... I had to remove front fans first and than install it inside. I am waiting for my 011 air mini to be delivered so I can put it there. More space required..!!

Looks cool. I'd like to see how it looks from the cables side. ~200mm PSU + AIO. Did you remove HDD cage or it is still possible to use some 2.5's or 3.5's drives with such setup.

Matt brilliant video exactly what I was looking for. Do you think this would work with an x63. From the video it looks like the gpu just squeezes in front of the fan and rad. Did you need to alter anything thinner radiator fans for instance.

Gorgeous build, I'll need to replicate it for my personal enjoyment. Did you have to use brackets for the top fans due to VRM heatsink clearance? I'll probably get a Hero but if the Strix worked it should be fine.

I’ll try and maybe post something on my Instagram story, but I think the clearances will be too tight 👀

Hey man, i have the same case and monday the Amp Extreme Airo 4090 will arrive, it's 35,4 in length and as far as i see you got the slightly longer Strix to fit in the case. It would've been interesting to see how you got it in. Did you put it in before the CPU cooler and the Memory or how did you approach the put-in process? Or did you slide it in horizontally but angled towards yourself a bit? Like, sliding in the left side in and then the right side?

Nice video, the only concern I have is perhaps the card being too close to the frontal fans? Will that impact airflow / installation?

I guess the front fan can directly cool down the gpu heatsink so there will be no problem unless it touches the card. this case is very deep and actually not a mini-ITX so air ventilation should be good enough even for 4090.

Closing the case would ruin this video because smashed cables against the case look stupid. But no worries, only influencers can have 4090 or if you pay double to scalpers. Hot air only for now.

Thank you 😁 65c max on GPU under heavy load, gaming 4K. CPU reached 62c once whilst rendering this video. Otherwise sits around 43c through normal use.

@Mr Matt Lee fans do look nice, but plan to donate original lian li case fans to a friend, and buy Be Quiet Silent Wings 4 pro 140mm fans. As for other PC parts think case will become Quiet/Silent. Wish be quiet made very close case to this one.

Do you know the exact clearance from the glass panel to the gpu? The original adapter from Nvidia for the 4090 looks like it might press against the glass panel :/

No they are 120mm on the front. I could’ve used 140mm but sadly Lian Li don’t offer the infinity fans bigger than 120mm 😞

Great vid! Would of loved to see the build. With the fans, is it 2x 120 bottom, 3x 120 top. 2x 120 front, 1x 120 back and then 2x 140 radiator?

Looks like the bottom, front, and radiator use 140mm while the top and rear exhaust use 120mm. Going for same layout but with vertical adapter for 7900 XTX

Actually expected the temps to be much higher for the GPU given the small chasis here, but I suppose that the fans right below the GPU providing fresh air are making an impact.

Exactly that. Having direct airflow with cool air helps a lot. The configuration in this setup compliments well. The front fans are pulling air in then directly out the rad on the side keeping the CPU cool. Then the bottom fans are pushing air directly through the GPU and out the top / exhaust. Its almost perfect.

@@jktan78yeah. But the 4 intake fans are 140mm versus the 6 120’s. I don’t know the exact physics here, but I’d bet it balances out. If anything, the 4 140’s probably out perform the 6 120’s, so there’s probably more positive pressure in the case than negative.

All fans are 120mm, Front two are intake, bottom two are intake, three on the roof are exaust, back is exaust and AIO on the side has fans set as exaust.

Thank you! Yes, the power adapter phase will pass in due course once updates PSU's are more available, but for now we've gotta play the cards we're dealt :)
