Also, I know you may feel pressured to make videos with great content (which you make!) but I wanted to let you know that I 100% would NOT mind watching a video of yours where you don't catch anything. A good trick I learned was to pat the shrimp dry and then put them in a container with a bunch of salt and let them dry up a lil bit. Not only do the shrimp stay on a lot better they have the saltiness to attract some fish. Can also experiment with different kinds of sugary additives. Kool aid and what not

It makes a lot of sense, its oily and has an emulsifier soy lecithin, which would make the smelly oils from your bait mix with the water better. Its definitely on the safe side of the scale considering some dudes will use WD40 instead🤮

I try to limit it to 4-5 rods laying across the passenger side of my truck, any more than that and they’re rattling around into each other as I’m driving and it drives me nuts lol. That’s the only downside to hauling my kayak in the bed of my truck instead of trailering it, I have to stick most of the rest of my gear inside the cab.

@@ndyakangler If your pickup has a cap over the cargo box, equip it with a roof rack. Once you start carrying your boat on the roof, you will wonder how you ever tolerated carrying it any other way. I've been a car-topping canoes and small rowboats for decades, and it's what my dad did also. Fishing kayaks weigh more than twice as much as a decent-quality canoe, but there are tricks to getting your boat on the roof that make it easy and simple for one person to do, even with such heavy boats as yours.

@@constantelevation_ It was many years ago i was fishing for Smallies & there was this old gent going for Catfish & nailing the heck out of some huge fish so i asked him what he was using & he said bluegill chunks . he had a 5 gallon bucket full of big cats so i if i go for catfish i do what he did & they do a hell of job & never fall off the hook. I'm not big on catfishing but they sure do give you one hell of fight when you get bit. Shrimp seem like an easy way to accomplish the same thing but how hard is it to just catch a few gills to use. Matt's one lucky guy to have so many great spots to fish that hold great numbers & sizes of the most fun to catch.

The guys at 'InFisherman' magazine started saying more than 30 years ago ago that cut bait is the way to go for big channel cats. They say that only the little ones like the "traditional" channel-cat baits that we all grew up having faith in. And nothing stays on the hook worse than chicken liver.

I don't know how it compares to cut bullhead, but I get to catch one kind of big, hard-fighting fish, while obtaining the bait for catching an even better kind of big, hard-fighting fish! And since everyone wishes there were fewer carp, it's not just a win-win, but a win-win-win.
