So many thoughts and emotions as I absorb this video. Here I am at 82, and so often I say that no one gave me a manual for growing older and as I age, I realize, it is not for the faint of heart. Put your big girl boots on everyone. But, we must each one of do what is best for us. We can be influenced by others sharing their personal journey but in the end it is you to decide your own journey. I say to you all, GO FOR IT. EMBRACE what you choose. And if you have to change your goal halfway upstream, do it. Thanks for the inspiration dear friend. Of course I will join you.

I am 59 and have recently signed up for Health Coaching through our insurance. I also feel like I keep gaining weight and have never really lived a healthy lifestyle. I want to be able to enjoy my 5 grandchildren and see them grow up. So, I am embarking on a journey to get healthy as well. I came here for the decorating, but will enjoy following along with you on this journey. Drinking water is my first goal also! God bless you for being so transparent with us.

Dear sweet Anne, you’ve been through a lot! I have recently retired from the medical field (40+ yrs). During pregnancy, the gallbladder sort of “goes to sleep” and sludge can build up during that time leading to stones. One of the reasons women suffer from this problem more than men. (Just an FYI). I too have been practicing IF for the past year and drink one gallon of water per day. I’ve lost 25 pounds, but I try not to let the scale govern my so called success because in truth, I simply feel infinitely better. I need to loose another 50 pounds…so I’m with you sister. So we keep drinking water, keep fasting, get plenty of sleep and a little prayer now and then surly doesn’t hurt. Blessings to you 😊🙏❤️

Ann, you are an inspiration. And I know, being,68, it doesn't get easier, but I still work,and I feel OK most of the time. I approach ppl with kindness, and in return, most... not all treat me the same. God has his time for us all. I want you to continue what you do because I love your channel, and I started looking back at your beginning videos. I love them. So if you go back to that contant I'm here for it.❤ I have to add, my mom would always say to me, you have to drink water. And my mother did drink her water and she lived to be 98

Anne, I need what you are proposing more than you will ever know! I have been very sick for the last 6 years due to liver and kidney failure. I had 2 transplants at age 69. After my surgery I developed severe spinal stenosis. It is so painful for ;me to stand and walk. The last year I have hardly left the house, except to go to drs. It is very hard to get and keep my head in a good place. I live in a house that I love, love to decorate, garden and love my family and pets. You tube and watching shows like yours has kept me sane. I look forward to better health and doing all the things I love. I am with you on this journey!💝💝💝

Oh Anne, I really feel for you!! I just turned 87 3 days ago and I tell you, getting old is not for sissies!!! How can my body feel so different than it did just even 10 yrs ago?? I have done intermittent fasting a couple of times, the first time was about 10 yrs. ago and I lost nicely. Then I started gaining weight even though I was still on the program. Eventually, I just stopped and went back to eating the way I had always eaten. Now here I am in my eighties and gaining weight so started back on the intermeitent program again. I have lost about 5 lbs.& several inches. I am on 17 hrs not eating then am open from noon to 6pm. I am tired and can sleep almost at any time (ha, ha). I hope this makes sense to you!! Blessings.

Oh I’m so sorry Danita. From what I can tell, long term COVID functions just like CFS in the body. A viral load is so strong and your body holds on to it. It’s like an earthquake with aftershocks. Seems to be all the same symptoms. I find only alternative doctors have some treatments that help. I do think diet is key.

I just came out of the hospital Sunday after a Vertigo attack when l fell and hit my head because l was dehydrated. They did every test in the book including a cat scan to rule out a stroke( I’m 71).I need to drink more water, but to much water can be a bad thing because it can deplete your vitamins and minerals. When my husband died l lost 30 pounds, I was not on a diet but I stopped eating bread and meat because l didn’t feel like making meals. So l lost weight! But l wrecked My HEALTH! I ended up with low blood platelets because l had no meat which means no iron ,in my system, But when you take iron pills they really constipate your body,so l only take them once every 3 days and I’m starting to eat more red meat, I’m no doctor but l don’t think you should go that long without eating, l know your body can go into starvation mode and then you can’t loose anything. When my kids were little l ate 3 times a day and was a size 10. But l was constantly moving, l know when we don’t feel well we don’t feel like moving.but you really have to eat and move to loose weight. I still need to loose 15 pounds so we can be on this journey together,prayers for your health and oh l loved the last few videos with Mel and Lainey.

Oh my! What a scary experience at the doctor! If you put enzymes in your water you replace the salt, magnesium and potassium which you lose on a water fast. All the studies show you can safely fast up to 3 -4 days before your muscles start to break down. There’s a supplement LMNT that you can buy on Amazon that replenishes those electrolytes. Best of health to you!

I have had high blood pressure and metabolic syndrome for years, weight gain,etc., all the weight goes to my middle! Ugh! The only thing that helped me and made me lose weight, lowered my blood pressure was the keto diet and intermittent fasting. I fast for 18hrs. with a 6hr eating window. I wish you luck with this, you look like you already lost weight, your face looks brighter and thinner, you just look better, stick with it. It's hard but worth it. I'm 70 now and have felt my health going down, but improving with keto and fasting. Thankyou for sharing. (PS, there are so many channels on youtube about all of this, I have learned so much from).

The first thing I noticed when I started watching this video is your skin is glowing & you look thinner! Also you sound very excited & enthusiastic about this journey you are on. 😊I am 60 years old & I can relate to many of the health issues you mentioned. I had lost 60 lbs. in 2015 by eating clean, no sugar, gluten free , I felt so much better. Then in 2017 my husband was diagnosed with abnormal cerebral atrophy, Lewy body dementia & I started making poor choices with my eating, didn’t manage the stress of this caregiving journey I was on. My husband had a bad fall in Jan. 2023 & he has been living in a skilled care nursing facility since Feb. 2023. I still enjoy living in our 200 year old home & enjoy watching your videos for the antique, primitive decor, ideas, etc. but It is also enjoyable watching you, Tom, your daughters, your dogs, Cousin Mel, Lainey & Alice and your authenticity! I am excited about what lies ahead for you & those of us who decide to live a healthier lifestyle! My heart goes out to you too for how much you miss your sister. Prayers for strength & guidance on this new part of life’s journey!🙏💐💕

Thanks for sharing, Anne. Glad you are trying to find what works for you. It will happen when it’s supposed to. I have a friend that is older and in perfect health. She eats according to her blood type. It must be working since her weight has stayed the same and she has no health issues……..I’m 71 and feel great except due to maybe a bad weather day, it bothers my breathing a little. I’ve never bad. It turns out I have CAD with two stents. WTH? I had no idea anything was wrong. I still don’t. Now I’m on meds. I naturally have low BP. Now it’s a bit lower. During my yearly CAT scan for the heart, they saw something on the right side. Turns out I have asthma, a little COPD and pulmonary hypertension. I had no idea. The asthma can be a pain but nothing an inhaler can’t take care of. The asthma, etc didn’t show up until after I had the shots to prevent Covid! I cannot get a single doctor to investigate that. I’m still convinced the shots did something to my lungs. How else would it show up AFTER Covid? Might be something to investigate for yourself? Pulmonary is supposed to be in the genes yet not a single person in my family has it. Plus the last CAT SCAN showed improvement. It never improves. It kills you eventually. I hate the meds I have to take. I’ve gained a little weight from them. I’ve never had that issue in my life. I also am dehydrated. The bottle you showed…..I usually drink a 1/4 of that a day. I’m simply not thirsty! I’ve had to learn to drink more. It’s not working too well. Ugh. Anyway…….keep on keeping on. Good luck on your healthy journey ❤️

Dropping in to say that I’m 33, chronically ill and experiencing grief. I may be in your younger audience but I can relate! Your channel is like visiting a warm home to me. I love all the content. It’s been a relaxing refuge during hard times. I take my mind off of negative things by decorating and nesting, so it’s like having a friendly friend with me while I rearrange my apartment! My boyfriend (32) and I get so excited when theres another Cousin Mel seasonal reveal. He’s always asking what Cousin Mel is up to 😂 Thanks for all you do, take care

Hope you can turn things around and have many more years of health ahead of you! And thanks for all those wonderful things you said about my channel! “A warm refuge” is the best compliment I ever received!

@@AnneClay it’s a lot in life to deal with health issues at a young age! Mine started at 17. A lifelong battle of constantly rebalancing nutrition and routines and attempting to get enough rest in a day (spoiler alert: there’s never enough time in a day to feel rested..!) I love what you said about how 10pm-11am is YOUR time, your sleep time, and how you’re meeting your needs. While I adore your channel, I hope that you’re able to never feel like you owe your viewers anything and that you can prioritize your rest and wellbeing. You deserve it! Some days we just can’t do what we wanna do and that’s ok!
@AnneClay

You are so wise and so right! Yes it can be a lot… 17 is really young to lose your health and people who have health have no idea how lucky they are. It’s easy to take health for granted but when we lose it, man we know what we’ve lost! And how sweet of you to give me permission to rest… we need that sometimes. I have had time in my channel when I had to step back… like when I was having terrible migraines a few years ago. And I instinctively know to step back when I run out of steam. I think one of the smartest things I’ve done for myself is to bring on my group of friends because there are times when I just can’t… and they help and reinvigorate me. It’s always a balancing act isn’t it?

Thank you Anne for sharing that with all of us♥ I was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome along with fibromyalgia in my thirties. Doctors have no Answers and you just want to give up after years of not being able to stop the weight gain or the incredible tiredness, pain and depression. I have found that vitamin B 12 injections and good amounts of vitamin D3 are helping. There’s a really good doctor out there, his name is Dr. Joel Fuhrman and one of his books is titled eat to live and he believes you can turn around almost any illnesses with the proper diet. I’ve started my own Journey so I would love to follow you on yours! BTW you already seem to have a healthier glow about you! Looking good and looking forward to your up coming videos❣

I started it to feel better with it as well because yes it starves the virus and creates new blood cells .It feels good to finally hear someone with my same issues .I will follow and listen as usual and pray for you !Im so glad you put this video out !

I know I'm in your younger audience of viewers, just turned 42, and I started a similar health journey to yours with the intermittent fasting and such last fall. My research involves Dr. Mindy Pelz, Barbara O'NEILL, Dr. Pradeep Jamnadas, and others that promote fasting and more natural ways of treatment for all sorts of health issues. Thank you for your health update, Anne. Prayers sent your way for this fasting diet and I hope it gives you your health back. I do believe water is the key to keeping our health in check, as I have consumed water all my life, living in the desert is a must to keep you hydrated and prevent heat stroke. In fact my little purse as a pocket for water bottle, which is taken with me running errands..luckily at 70 I take no prescription drugs and still have good heath..great genes from my parents too. You know your body, just listen to it and keep up the water with electrolytes, a must to prevent dehydration..sending hugs from Arizona 🌵

Anne, I found that eating gluten, sugar, and bad carbs like potato, rice, noodles, is not really good for anyone. I'm eating only good carbs, meats, eggs, fruit and I am still losing weight and inches. And plenty of water with a slice of lemon, which helps to pull parasites that causes all kinds of problems. Just some food for thought, prayers for your health journey. 🤗

Meat, eggs and veggies are best...but if the meat is full of steroids and fed a bad diet the meat is no good (and only wild fish, not farmed)....same as the vegetables. Dr Berg is a great source for cortisol issues and fasting info. Azure Standard does sell clean food. But buying local where you know the source is best. Hope you get better soon 💗
@AnneClay
@AnneClay 20 күн бұрын
Absolutely!! All solid advice! We buy from local organic farms and the food is so much better. We found a farm way back when I was 35 and on my last trip to Michigan I bought a ton of chicken feet there to make bone broth soup. I filled a cooler with dry ice and chicken feet. My mom and sister were so afraid we’d get stopped at the border and that they would look into that thing hahaha

And absolutely local...and please everyone support your local farmers and watch what is happening to farmers...they need all our support.
