Which of these changes are you most excited for?

My biggest issue is I am NEVER going to pay $16 for a Big Mac fast food meal. McDonald's can do all these stupid challenges and changes but they have no hand on my wallet anymore. I feel like they don't care about us who have been supporting them for 50 plus years.

My biggest problem with McDonalds is that it now costs 17 dollars for a meal. I don't care how much they improve the quality, because that just translates into even higher prices. Also, much of their quality issues are due to the employees letting the food sit under heat lamps for hours instead of throwing it out. I can cook fresh food at home for much cheaper than a McExpensive Meal.

Not just overpriced but shrinking drastically, the regular patties are now paper thin and half the size of the bun, we don't need more sauce on the big mac we need them to put the burger back, as it may as well be a salad sandwich at this point.

In other news... They also announced that they will never fix the ice cream machine.

McD's missed the biggest thing to upgrade.....The portion size of their burgers has increasingly got smaller over the years but the prices have increased.

You didnt mention that due to inflation, the cost of a BigMac, large fries and a drink has gone up to a whopping $16.00. For a few more bucks, you can go to a nice up-scale restaurant and get a quality burger. In light of that, they damn well better do some improvements.

The biggest changes coming this year is smaller burgers for more money 🤑 a McDouble will cost 4$ a mcchicken 3.50 a 10 piece nugget will cost 8.49 wow smaller everything and they’ll charge more wow amazing 🤩

I usually don't have a problem with the buns being soggy, I have a problem with them that they are dry and stale.

Biggest problem with Mcdonalds along with every other fast food chain is it costs more than double what it did 3 years ago and the quality has dropped. Regardless of what changes they make, it is still a fast food meal that now costs $15+ for one. At this point,I dont care if EVERY chain restaurant closes tomorrrow. If the prices and poor quality stay high, that could actually happen. The federal minimum wage is still $7.25 an hour with the possibility of it changing to $10.50 an hour, still not enough to buy 1 fast food meal.

The biggest issue are the cold and soggy fries that they apparently don’t mind serving at the drive thru lane.

As others are saying it’s overpriced now. The only reason to go there now is convenience. It used to be good when you’re broke to hit up the dollar menu

Shrinkflation has hit McDonald's hard in Canada. The burgers shrank, and prices are stupid high now. $15 for a meal is insane. I used to get double cheeseburgers, they're like sliders now, so tiny.

The problem isn’t the bun is the damn price that keeps going up. I remember when you can go to McDonald’s and get out an entire meal if not for under $10. Now I’m spending $40 on three people.

But are they going to address the constantly undercooked French fries, usually served cold? Or the hamburger patties that aren’t even peppered when taken off the grill? Or the fact that it takes 15 minutes to get your order when there’s only one car ahead of you, and only one behind you? 😂

It doesn't really matter now what they change to try and stay relevant to me. I've got at least 3 local places where I can get a totally fresh burger, locally sourced, not engineered, made to order with care with handcut fries from normal potatoes for same or less than a Big Mac meal. And these folks live, work and spend their money in my area as well instead of going to a corporate pocket.

For a 17$ McDonalds meal you can spend 20$ or so and get 4 cheese burger meals at home

Even though it’s been a couple decades, from when I used to work there, the reason the cheese was so much “meltier”, was that in the 90’s and early 2000’s, they used “Q-ing Ovens” to warm the burgers after they were assembled and wrapped. Basically, they microwaved them. I don’t remember when they were phased out but attempting to make “fresher” burgers made to order meant the buns were now room temperature and the meat was just warm enough for food safety. And sometimes the little extra time they used sit in those heating bins helped but could also dry out the burger while the melted into the burger patty, partially looking like it disappeared.

No amount of changes will save McDonalds ! From soggy buns, to TASTELESS cardboard " meat " pucks to cold fries. I visited recently and the 2 big macs were cold and just thrown in the box. With fries and a drink were over $ 19.00 . That's it for me, I will never eat at McDonalds again !! You can never get "fresh" off the grill "HOT" burgers as they keep cooked burgers in a holding pan and use them as needed. When will big corporations ever learn, you can't cut corners on quality or you will lose your customers in droves.

If it means to choose between McDonald's or going home to open a can of beans, McDonald's loses out. That is how much I avoid going there. I refuse to pay outrageous prices for second-rate products . Why they are still in business is beyond me. They can try to rebrand all they want, it still changes nothing about the food itself.

My biggest problem is with the big mac is it never hot, maybe warm but not hot.

I haven't eaten at McDumpsters in decades and I have no plans on going back.

Most of McDonald’s problems revolve around employees that don’t care about their jobs and have a serious “ not my job “ mentality

The only thing McDonald's could do to even get my attention would be lower prices and better employee treatment so they don't all seem to hate life when I go there for a $7 happy meal

I always wait for coupons. The problem is I haven’t seen any coupons for a long time. Burger King always has a coupon.

If they infuse onions into the beef patties they will destroy at least half of their consumers from returning. This is a stupid move. Thank God there are other fast food choices.

McDonald’s is constantly experimenting. The soggy buns could be from them trying to pull the quarter pound patties from the grill without any “rest” time, like how cooks recommend for steaks and roasts. Even with the clamshell grills, the patties continue to cook for a minute after being pulled from the grill and still a bit pink and juicy. When we tested the first patties after breakfast, giving it the rest time, they would be no longer pink, the juice clear and the center had reached 165°.

Agree with the others. McDs is fast food but at too high a cost. Everyone will look elsewhere for a better deal

They shrunk half of their food items. Including the chicken nuggets! They are tiny now...hopefully those are on their 'must improve' list for 2024. Paying a larger price for less food is less than exciting. Looking forward to the changes...hopefully.

I live in the Netherlands. McDonalds here is now more expensive than a Chinese Restaurant. If i order Chinese takeout it will cost me 18,- Euro's for a menu that feeds 4 people. Containing a sweet and sour pork dish (Babi Pangang),a chicken skewer side (Chicken Sate), Bami Noodles or Nasi rice and a side dish of vegetables. That same amount of money will get me 2 Big mac menus.. So, to feed 4 people it would cost double at McDonalds vs a Restaurant.

At my McDonalds I always ask for a receipt. The receipts have a survey when you fill out online, they will give you a code You put the code on te receipt and on your next visit you can buy one and get one free as long as it is equal or lesser value.

Not worried about them. We call Chili's to go and get a Real Hamburger with fries for 10.99. McDonald's has become so expensive it's cheaper to go to regular restaurants to get a better meal. Even Taco Bell has become to expensive. I can get a meal to go at a local Mexican restaurant get better food free chips and salsa for around 21$ for 2 people. Jasons Deli has some good deals also. All you can eat Salad bar or you can get a half sandwich with salad. Even Golden Corral is cheaper than eating McDonald's

Will the buns keep going to be smaller and smaller like each year?

Maybe they should focus on improving customer service, which has gone way downhill at many locations. Also instances of screwed up orders is becoming more and more frequent, as in missing items, incorrect items, etc... Burger King, Arby's, Hardee's and Wendy's are far superior to McDonald's when it comes to these issues.

One of the locations I go to hasn't changed any of the drive thru operation, but has re-modeled the inside area. The front counter area is smaller, and the side counter which had the fountain drink dispenser, drink lids/straws, catsup dispenser, and napkins is now gone. Also used to be a mounted big screen TV on one wall, that is also now gone. And the prices have really gone up in the last couple of months. So now I don't go there.

I gave up McDonald's for 5Guys, years ago. Yes, they are a bit pricey but at least the quality and taste is worth it 🤗. Who wants to pay $17.00 for 2 small slivers of meat and a bunch of slop ? I once worked for McDonald's when the food was still good and having a "Big Mac attack" was still a catch phrase. Once great revered companies are losing their focus and they are forgetting what made them great. So sad. 😞

The burgers and chicken sandwiches always have too much and/or too little of many of the items/condiments. Too little or too much mayo and hella lettuce. For the burgers: hella ketchup and maybe one pickle. The buns can be a problem too. Price:Quality ratio aside, it's all a bit annoying. The staff mostly just don't care, haphazardly throwing everything together, and I'm not sure I'd blame them. It's all just super meh and I never expect anything of quality from them.

Personally, I have an issue with their fries. Obviously, if they aren't fresh, they suck! But another major issue is that one, two or even three fries may be longer than 3 inches. But I don't pay top dollar for those fries to be less than an inch long. I used to always ask for, "Fresh Fries, Please". And I'd get them. Doing the same nowadays gets you cold fries ran through the fryer again - briefly. This making a warm, soggy fry. You lose, or you lose big!

McDoonald's will not be getting my money. None of the changes will get me to order from there..

Well, that made me go back to just ordering McDonald's for Chicken McNuggets and sausage biscuits. Instead of adding onions to every burger, even if you hate onions like I do, why not improve the seasoning mix?

The onion patties actually sound tasty, but I think I'll stick with Burger King. The Whoppers are much bigger than any Big Mac I've ever had.

There’s a problem when it costs more to eat McDonald’s than it does at In N Out. It’s crazy. Not only them. BK, Five Guys. Family of 4 at a fast food place shouldn’t cost $50.

Those of us who are lactose intolerant cant have brioche buns. Also if you put onions in the burger, we cant ask for no onions.

The fact that other countries do McDonald's better than us is sad. I had it in Milan and the burgers actually tasted like beef. Go figure!

My girlfriend and I ate at Micky D's last week. We ordered 3 double hamburgers, no cheese. Two for me and one for her plus two cups of coffee. The total was $14.00. I hadn't eaten at a Micky D's in years so I was shocked at the price. Three plain burgers and two coffees. $14.00 dollars. I told friends about this and they said that price was typical across the industry and that I needed to get out more. One friend who loves Burger King said a Whopper Meal was ten bucks. I won't pay that for fast food. It's way too McSpensive.

My problem is the fish sandwich usually has a half slice of cheese with most of it hanging outside the bun, and a half teaspoon size blob of tarter sauce.

I haven't been to McDonalds in 30 years and I can't say I miss going there.

Yeah, if I could get a fully cooked quarter pounder I’d consider going back. I haven’t had a fully cooked burger since they went to fresh patties.

The prices for McDonalds is seriously out of control. This cheap fast food is competing in price with sit down restaurants now.

Everyone complaining about the price needs to understand: This is what a $15 - 20/hr minimum wage gets you. Their bottom-line profit margins are razor thin to begin with; the only reason the parent company makes so much money is those ~40K restaurants. And yes, corporate greed is a real thing. And nobody feels sorry for them (not that we should) when they spend a billion dollars to research and bring a new item to market, only to have it utterly *bomb* and be gone in two years. So that works both ways.

One of those clips shows a young lady on a skateboard ordering at the drive-thru window and then skating on to the pickup window. McDonald's makes it completely clear that you may not do this. If you are not in a motorized vehicle or on a motorcycle, you must come into the store.

The problem with all these plans is the employees. If you do not properly train your staff then all these plans are a waste.

Soggy buns could also be from them constantly experimenting with the buns. At different times they’ve tried to save time and man-power by removing the bun toasters, using “specially developed” buns that weren’t supposed to get soggy, but that effected the taste, so they’d bring the toasters back. And maybe the bland meat might be them cutting back on seasoning the meat. They used to have a special blend with an exact ratio of salt and pepper but might have cut that step out for health reasons (but still really salt the fries) and remove the chance the grill person might over season the meat.

Low sodium would be nice. Food doesn't need to have ridiculously high sodium levels to be delicious. In fact, they could replace table salt with potassium-chloride in most items for flavor that's indistinguishable and help the nation achieve healthy potassium levels for general health. Also, dropping all the soy would be amazing.

McDonald's rewards/loyalty program isn't even that great. They add up quickly, but they also expire quickly. And since they cannot be combined with other deals, you'll usually save more money by finding something in their daily deals.

Haven’t had McDonalds in 18 years now, and I don’t see that changing. And I’m sure meals were around £4-5 back then, I doubt that now…

I can imagine going to CosMc's and wanting something from McDonald's, then leaving and just going to a McDonald's lol.

Make all the changes ya want to... doesn't mean a thing if what you order is always different from what they throw in your bag.

The Big Mac sauce recipe has never been a secret. In fact, there is a youtube video where the official McDonalds chef gives the recipe out.

Chik-Fil-A is even worse 2 spicy chicken meals with milkshakes cost me $25 High way robbery and let’s not mention the supermarket sky high prices and empty shelves got people gravitating more towards fast food restaurant🤦🏾‍♀️ I surely do miss the good ole days!

If McDonald's is trying to become a high quality fast food restaurant with the quality and quantity of the food matching the price, sure go for it. It's good to be ambitious. I'll miss the cheap fast food that had a good enough taste. Guess I'll have to find a different place to get my cheap easy food

What about people who hate onions?

My problem is that I cannot count on the prices from one location to another. At one, a double cheeseburger is $2.49 and adding two half strips of bacon is $0.79. Go a few miles away and the DCB is $3.49 and adding that bacon is $2.00. So $3.28 versus $5.49! Really? Guess which one I never go to?

As others have already said, their big issue is prices. McGreed is thriving at the chain and it is pushing people away.

Love McDonald especially the Big Mac . But the cost is way out of hand . I use to go McDonald’s a lot now with the cost y lucky maybe twice a year .

If you are on foot they don't serve you, even during covid when the dine in was closed, they refused to feed people who were not in a car. Some truckers reported they couldn't find fast food places to eat, or use the bathroom while they were on the road.

Mc D's Prices are INSANE....$17 to18 for a Big Mac Combo....Give me a BREAK !!!......How about VALUE for Money...That would be a Great Change for 2024 !!..........

For the price, you better off going to a portillo's. They have great burgers. There is a reason every location they open up the line is around the block.

I stopped by a local McD a few weeks ago in Wakefield,MA...my wife loves the coffee. I ordered her coffee and a single cheeseburger...I almost dragged my jaw on the floor when they charged her $1 for her coffee and me $2.77 for a cheeseburger that I remeber costing .89 cents when I was a kid.

My dad used to say in the 90s, a big mac meal will be 13 bucks in 2020

My biggest pet peeve other than the price increases, is that in my area they are forcing you to order from there computer screen in the lobby. They have also remodeled there dining area to say we don't want you or your families in here . I am older and just want to go in sit down and have some food not sit in my vehicle and stink it up with grease. The sonic locations we have here as well makes you go through a drive thru and not pull up to their stands like it was designed. Our sonics have lobbys they no longer open it is sad.

I have not eaten at McDonald's for over 8 years no plans on going back either 😕

The prices are now as expensive as eating anywhere else, and it's always dry and never made fresh unless you know a good location

My biggest issue is that the options on the mobile app are NOT THE SAME as they are on the kiosk in the dining room. The mobile app should be like having the kiosk in your hand. Just like Taco Bell. Their mobile app options are exactly the same as their in store order screens. But not at McDonald’s. It is as if they have 2 separate teams working on the same products and not communicating with each other for a consistent customer experience.

Cooked to order is the only way to get a really good burger.............like In and Out. There has been way too many times I have gone inside or the drive thru and the burger is almost cold. In today's world these kids have to have everything right now. You get what pay for.

Prices have gone up quality has gone down and portions have gone down. I know it varies state to state location to location even though it's supposed to be the same in every franchise restaurant...

The problem with McDonalds Food, other than the usual, is the price. I can out for a nice Mexican meal at a sit down restaurant for around $20. Last time I went to McDonalds they wanted $18.49 for a hamburger, fries and a drink. And don't even get me started on the $0.25 hash brown patty thing they want over $3 for now at breakfast time. In the last 3 years prices have gone up so much that I now eat fast food about once a month when before I probably ate fast food 6 days a week. Thanks to the price increases I'm probably 80% healthier.

Like others have said... I can't justify McDonalds without a coupon. And even then, I'm usually often disappointed. It used to be a way more enjoyable experience and justifiable when it was affordable. Fries on their own are 100% to expensive. They should cost half of what they are charging. These companies are way too greedy.

Say goodbye to MCDONALD’S, everyone! This is a company that’s going to seriously kick its self in the ass. They are going to raise their prices with all of this and on top of that employees still won’t make enough to afford to make the cost of living. The restaurants are going to remain short staffed and it’s going to continue to take forever for you to get your food, and even if it sits in a heat lamp. No really, this is the end of the McDonald’s that you knew.

They already use the new Brioche buns where I am and I honestly don't like them so we don't go there no more for our monthly treat, the buns just felt too dry and hard not to mention it plays havok with my lactose intolorence, not nice at all.

I don't look forward to anything on my local mcdonald's menu. They haven't had the steak, egg and cheese bagel sandwhiches for almost a decade now. That's all I ever looked forward to

I can make a large Big Mac in the comfort of my home. Furthermore, I can make more of them for the same price of a Big Mac at McDonald's.

Back in the 80s, eating at McDonald's was both cheap and convenient. There was an outlet at the end of the street I lived on, so when coming home from work, I was getting off the bus just across the street from it. So it was very easy to talk myself into getting a meal there for dinner quite often. That's just not the case any more. Prices have gone up. They're no longer conveniently everywhere. And I've discovered so many other foods since then, like tacos and bibimbap and falafels and wraps and burritos and pho and so on. Like, I wish McD's luck and success, but they're never gonna regain the market they once had.

I worked at McDonald's in the late 90's. We would microwave the burgers for a few seconds to make sure everything was hot and the cheese was melted. They dont do that anymore

Visited a nice restaurant this past weekend and ordered their double smash burger with fries. $16.00 It was ~so~ very good & fresh and priced just a smidge above a McDonald's equivalent. Haven't been to a fast food joint in nearly 2 years and I likely won't start going again anytime soon.
