🔍 Keeping Your Focus
It's essential to remember that everyone has their unique recruiting journey. In a world where social media amplifies every commitment announcement, it's easy to feel anxious or pressured. Remember, it's not about the noise around you; it's about sticking to your strategic plan and staying focused on your path, whether you're an early commit, a common commit, or a late bloomer.
📈 Understanding the Timeline
The recruiting process technically kicks off in freshman year of high school. It's a journey that spans until you set foot on campus as a college freshman. But it's not just about getting there; it's about being ready to contribute to your team. Remember the five P's: Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance. Stay prepared!
🚀 Rule Changes and Early Commits
College baseball recruiting has seen significant rule changes in recent years. The days of commitments from as early as seventh or eighth grade are thankfully behind us. Now, the earliest a player can commit is August 1 at the end of their sophomore year. This allows for more thoughtful decision-making and less pressure on younger players.
📚 Freshman Year Focus
In your freshman year, focus on acclimating to high school and your baseball team. Understand your coach's expectations and team goals. This is a foundation-building year, setting the stage for more active recruiting efforts in your sophomore year.
📅 Sophomore Year: Starting the Process
Sophomore year is when you should start actively engaging in the recruiting process. Begin by reaching out to college coaches and sending out your information. This year is crucial as coaches start to notice players and consider them for future opportunities.
🌟 Player Profiles: Early, Common, and Late Bloomers
We discuss three types of player commitments in our video:
The Early Commit: This player commits around August 1 of their junior year, following extensive evaluation and interaction with coaches.
The Common Commit: Typically commits during the spring or summer of their junior year, after thorough exposure and communication with college coaches.
The Late Bloomer: Focuses on commitment in the senior year, exploring options beyond Division I if necessary, including Division II, III, and JUCO.
🎯 Staying Proactive
Regardless of which category you fall into, the key is to remain proactive and focused on finding the right college fit for you, not just athletically, but academically, geographically, culturally, and socially.
🙌 We're here to guide you every step of the way. If you have any questions or need personalized advice, feel free to reach out. And don't forget to watch our detailed video for more insights!

Just to clarify, there are no issues with Freshmen/Sophomores sending recruiting videos to colleges?

Is it possible for you to do a tier list or a "top 10" of the travel ball teams/organizations you think is worth getting the kids into? Cost vs performance/wins/development? I know many people have their opinions of travel ball vs showcases vs camps vs rec ball vs high school, but I havent seen anyone do a ranking of who they think are great travel teams that would get you seen vs the ones who are just there for the business.

That's so hard because each of them are there to make some money and just because a kid makes it on the second best team doesnt mean they getting playing time. Paid coach vs volunteer, off season training programs... Even the same travel program can have different experiences from team to team.Suburb of Chicago here and there are literally 10 different travel programs within 10 minutes of my house.

@@chasmn84 Oh, I agree, its purely subjective ranking system. I am just amazed no one on YT has actually made that type of video especially when you can get a nice back and forth conversation with other creators and get a ton of views off some banter. Its a huge market out there, and having a opinionated dispute of "Canes vs 5 Star" or "Team Eliete vs Scout USA" may garner some fan fair to the videos.

What I will say is just have to do homework and see where your kid fits in, some travel programs will have showcases for college recruiters others don’t, what seems to be different with travel ball imo is there’s not much room for politics like in hs, either you’re good enough to make nationals or you’re not, from what I’ve seen in HS is the politics, now I’m not saying every HS, but I’ve personally seen it.

@@Alphaghost-SP1 Very true. My son wasnt going to do the travel team this summer till he was recruited for a higher tier team which will pretty much act like a college program where he will be staying with them, traveling with them and playing almost non-stop all summer or working out and training non-tournament days.
