I'd have to disagree, he took the straightest path possible even following the previous cars line and that painted apron did not affect his grip. His speed into the second turn and lack of adhesion is what lead him to spinning out.

@@jeffnist9921 IMHO what he did is either entering the wet curb too fast (for wet) or he lifted on the curb. It can be seen that he wasn't able to follow the wet tire mark on the a tarmac so he wasn't the one driving anymore. When he realized he hit the curb too fast, he most probably lifted so he wasn't turning under power, upsetting the rear end. But technically, whatever he messed up, he was doomed at the very moment he hit the curb.

As he came *off* the curb there was excess standing water causing aquaplaning.

It was at that point he knew he screwed up.

It was too late as soon as the video starts, before the curb

also the "rubber" on race lane is very slippery thats why we have the so call "wet lane"

Nothing, Ayrton Senna went faster. This was an amateur mistake that even the pros still do. You dont use momentum in the rain period. His line was wrong as he came off the ramp in stead of holding that through he followed the curve to find that straight, shoot for the apex but that point of acceleration is exactly what threw him. Instead if you look at the line he hit the ramp at the top end should have followed through to the 2nd ramp and that would have extended the apex out giving equal traction by staying on the accelerator to allow him time to adjust for the straight on the tarmac not the paint job, instead it seems he floated at the end of the ramp to allow a slight adjust of his front end (look for it) as you would in the dry to push harder into the apex point as he tried to do but a deviation from the line at a wrong point even with all things being equal little thrust of power at exact deviant is going to give you same result everytime!

@@KrillinRoshi that’s kinda the point I was making, only briefer. Also, Senna was virtually a unicorn in the wet, I’m not sure anyone has been able to drive as fast as he could when it was raining!

After all, that will be racing at those same speeds in that same weather 🥃✅ gonna have to lay off the gas and find the perfect breaking point at the maximum speed to make the corner and power slide without losing control control

Andererseits arbeiten alle daran, das Auto so schnell wie möglich zu machen. Der Mechaniker tut auch alles damit es möglichst schnell ist! Wäre also auch eine gering Schätzung, der Arbeit der Mechaniker nicht zu vertrauen und nicht voll zu fahren. Was wiederum zu solchen Einschlägen führen kann… Tja und im übrigen, wenn nichts kaputt ginge, wozu wären die Mechaniker da? Das ist genau ihr Job wofür sie bezahlt werden! Also, der Fahrer hat seinen Spaß bis über die Grenze ausgereizt, und die Zuschauer haben was zu sehen bekommen für ihr vieles Geld. Die Mechaniker haben wieder einen schönen Grund an der exklusiven Technik rum zu schrauben! Also alle was von gehabt! Was willst Du jetzt noch mehr?

A car behaves so, so, so differently on the limit or close to it than when you're just driving fast, so you need to go to the limit and do hard laps to figure everything out properly.
