The slugs needed a host (little girls) to be able to survive so Andrew Ryan and his team of scientists came up with a way to do so, the reason why they had to do it was because they were running out of slugs to be able to make more Adam, and for the little sister to be able to survive in rapture they needed protectors (big daddy's) I suggest reading bioshock the book to learn more about the lore of rapture, how it all started and how the games take place in the story

@@fumothfan9 Thats not why you became a big daddy in either of the games. First game you became one so a little sister would trust you. Though you didn't actually become one. You just made yourself sound like one, look and smell like one. Actual process of making a big daddy is way more complicated than just putting on a suit, they get crafted into it, once its done you can't exit the suit ever again. Alpha series big daddies can take off their helmet but not the suit as its said its one way tricket even for them, though i imagine a big daddy under the helmet looks ugly, mutated mess due to the adam and who knows what surgical changes. Even uglier than spider splicers probably. People with a lot of adam go mad and become splicers over the years instead. Or you became a mutated bethemoth like fontaine i guess if you overdose on every type of plasmid and adam but he was the only one with enough adam to do it. In second game you were made into it against your will before the story started and before the person you play as actually came in contact with adam.

@@MisterJohnDoe Harvest is just a way to see how much of a scumbag you are. If you save them you get lots of tonics, resources, additional adam and plasmids from Tenebaum with her gifts. You actually get stronger if you save them and not the other way around. If you harvest you get only 40 more adam but in the end you get less things.

I've never harvested them.. nor seen what happens when you harvest them..

Yea Jack pulled off the impossible but in a 1vs1 in game scenario Delta wins. Jack has to change from gun to plasmid while delta can shoot plasmids and guns at the same time. Plus Jack is a normal human. Delta has a big daddy armor this means that he can take way more damage than jack. 1 thing is wrong tho: at the start of Bioshock 2 Delta gets ipnotized with the plasmid. Jack has that plasmid too. He can make delta kill himself.

Yeah, it is actually an alternate version of a Big Daddy. Obviously it works in the same way, that's out of the question. However, if you are interested in the backstory of the project itself, it's all explained in Burial at the Sea, which is a link between Infinite and the previous Bioshock games.

Luther Barrett it was a bundle on steam. Came with the original and remastered versions of bioshock 1 & 2 with Minerva’s den for bioshock 2. Also it came with infinite with all of infinite’s dlcs.

Me too, got them all and they are still my favorite games ever, up there with command and conquer kanes wrath . Loved pinning splices with that badass harpoon gun in the second one. Wish there was a chem thrower for bioshock 2. And in my opinion, 2 was way more streamlined with its controls and combat mechanics, was just a smooth crazy ride!!

Never played a bioshock game, played bioshock infinite since, well, I had it and never played it. Got to the bit where the nigga does exactly what he wasn't supposed to do and now everyone is trying to kill him. Shit game 2/10.

Little sisters have a sea slug in the GI tract that processes the Adam. It's why they carry those syringes, so they can drink their blood. Big daddy's don't process Adam like little sisters can.

they could but not nearly as well as the little sisters, one of the audio diary's at the orphanage cant remember which game probably 2 mention that they tried to do it with others but only little sisters were efficient in collecting adam theres even concept art for there to be little brothers its a pale dark haired boy with pajamas on but for some reason they never went through with it so they probably made some BS story to go with it maybe they didnt have the manpower time or maybe it would just fuck you up more if you were attacking little sisters rather than little brothers
