With ideal conditions, we headed to one of our favourite Sword spots and successfully tagged and released our first hook up for the season - and the biggest I have fought! We got it within 40m of the boat pretty quickly and initially I thought it might be a nice 120ish kg model. Then it dumped 80m of line and dogged it out for the remainder of the time between 20m and 120m, remaining static for almost an hour at one point. Stubborn! It was a tough battle and it soon began to feel a much more decent size specimen. I thought I might be in for a long haul, but after 2hr 10min of hard work, and grunting, I had the large and lively fish boat side. We took the first opportunity to jab a tag in (not ideal placing, but it was in), then held on as best we could. Its thrashing bill broke the 400lb line and away it went, taking a dive, swimming strongly and fading back into the depths of the deep blue. So good! Enjoy, and thanks for watching! @itswizza
