Celebrate a new life with this beautiful heirloom baby blanket! This design features big and little popcorn hearts framed by rows of crocheted cables and panels of popcorns and trimmed using eyelet crochet. The textures to see and touch will interest baby's senses again and again!
The written pattern can be purchased here: www.lovecrafts.com/en-us/p/bi...
Skill Level: Intermediate
Yarn: 5 hanks of LambShopKits "Prized" yarn (100% baby alpaca, 100 g, 291 yds/266 m). This yarn can be purchased here: www.lambshopkits.com/product/...
Feel free to substitute any DK or sport weight yarn for this project.
Hooks: G (or 6/4.00 mm), H (or 8/5.00 mm), and I (or 9/5.50 mm) Feel free to change hook sizes to match your yarn.
Note: If you find that your popcorns pull tightly even when going up 1 size, I recommend making the G (or 6/4.00 mm) hook your gauge hook, the I (or 9/5.50 mm) your largest hook, and the F (or 4/3.75 mm) hook your smallest hook.

Beautiful. Much more intricate than anything I've made so far but you bet at some point soon I'll have a go. It may be one of those projects that will take me a while to complete as I'll probably tackle it section by section. I love the fact you include the time stamps for the repeat rows. I've subscribed and will now probably be binge watching some of your previous videos over tbe next few weeks Thanks Bonnie. Greetings from London 💗

What a beautiful blanket. I have a question, you use the popcorn stitch a lot. Is there a reason why you don't use the bobble stitch?
@BonnieBayCrochet
@BonnieBayCrochet 10 ай бұрын
I do use both, but prefer the popcorn for throws and blankets to keep the stitch count consistent. I have far more experience using this stitch and know how it will behave in combination with other stitches. Great question!😊❤️

Hi Bonnie, I've started with the cables and end up with only 35 cables instead of 41 as you said and I pulled it out again and counted the stitch count which is 126 stitches. I have followed you closely so I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Can you please give some advice 🙏🏽😊. Thanks

Good morning Bonnie. When working the start of the cable stitch, the 3 chains we’re working into, are they just the back loop of the chain? It looks like it 🤞 Thank you ❤

@@BonnieBayCrochet thanks so the amount of width plus the amount of proper rows would need to be added. Still it could be doubled or tripled in length and width to make a bedspread sized or just doubled to make a throw size. I love that. The popcorn stitch was one of my mom's favorite. I like it too and cables. The way you do them is creative. Nice job of patterning I've been away from crocheting for decades and am starting back up. It's like I know how to read patterns and do some stitches but basically I'm feel kind of like a beginner all over. I do enjoy it. Thanks to all of you on KZfaq I feel safe restarting. 😉 so thanks.

@BonnieBayCrochet

Any acrylic should be fine. Alpaca is an allergenic fiber as long as it isn’t blended with wool or processed on the same equipment as wool. Alpacas are part of the camel family and very different from sheep.

Since I've started rows 35-53, my blanket is looking out of shape. I've found it quite difficult to follow, but I've kept to the 126 chains and 31 popcorns. I feel l really disappointed because I've tried really hard, and it's took me a while, and a few times I've pulled rows down, etc.
