Jax, if you go back to Avengers: Age of Ultron, during the scene where Iron Man picks "Friday" as the new voice of J.A.R.V.I.S, you will see memory disk of "Tadashi" laying on the desk behind "Friday". So Iron Man, knows of these guys.

One of the members of the Big Hero Six team in the comic books is Silver Samurai, so in a way there's also a connection to the 20th Century Fox X-Men movies.

According to google though, the film Big Hero 6 isn't a part of the MCU. So the Tadashi bit in AoU is just a fun reference really.

Correct it is not part of the MCU movies...but it is party of the Marvel Universe. So Iron Man does know about Tadashi.@@LuckySmurf

8:50 The point of Hiro going to the school wasn't so much about him needing to learn robotics, but more about him needing to be around other people with similar interests, make friends and keep on the straight and narrow. He needed to learn to use his skills and intelligence for more than bot-fighting and hustling mobsters, which was dangerous in and of itself. Basically he needed... not so much discipline, but support and structure; A place that could help him reach his full potential, and where he could learn how to become a more productive member of society. He needed to expand his horizons beyond just thinking about short-term monetary gain and prepare for adulthood. As for Callahan, his quest for revenge cost him his reputation and ruined his life, and because it turns out that his daughter is alive, that means he threw his good name and future away for no reason. Big Hero Six is loosely based on a Marvel comic book series of the same name, which is why Stan Lee has a cameo as Fred's dad.

I wouldnt say he threw it away for no reason. If he hadn’t built the machine again (even if for revenge) they never would have known she was still alive.

@@liamisaac1152 True, but the point is that he chose to commit arson, kill Tadashi, steal Hiro's technology, etc. He was a respected and well-regarded professor and a pillar of his community, and he threw everything good he had done away out of a selfish need for revenge.

@billbill6094 That would be one of the biggest benefits. Hiro is brilliant, but at this school he would have access to resources that he wouldn't otherwise. Plus, while he is exceptional, he doesn't know everything. Still a lot to learn. One of the things about professor Callahan that, I feel, gets overlooked a lot is how he was willing to kill his student without hesitation. When he saw them at the dock, he HAD to have seen who they were and tried his best to kill them. He had no loyalty or sympathy for them being in the wrong spot. He really threw everything away on this quest for vengeance.

If you think that Callahan got everything he wanted, look at his expression when his daughter is wheeled past his police car. He should be overjoyed at her rescue, but instead, he's ashamed. Ashamed that he spent years seeking revenge instead of searching for her. Ashamed that when she wakes up, he won't be with her because he will be in jail. And ashamed that Abigail herself will have to live with the burden of all the terrible things her father did.

I know Disney is hesitant to make more animated Marvel movies like this since it wasn’t a massive box office smash (it did well it just didn’t break records). But if they ever try this again, I think Kid Kaiju would be a perfect candidate for an animated movie! A kid who can summon and even create monsters by drawing them in his sketchbook?? That’s rad!!

Big Hero 6 is based on a Marvel Comics limited series after initially appearing in a one shot comic in 1998. This is why Stan Lee appears in the film since it’s from a Marvel comic

The judge in The Good Place was played by Maya Rudolph (which is such a good show!). Yes she was the voice of Cass... And I love TJ Miller(Fred) always voicing funny/comedic relief characters. Tadashi was teaching his brother to help and be the bigger person even even at risk to himself. Good message. Also in response to your "non-verbal" question at 5:59: For Baymax to activate, you have to say "Ow" in the first place, so I am not sure if non-verbal people could get Baymax to activate. And if they did and couldn't get him to deactivate verbally, then eventually he would run out of battery! ;)

The scene where Wasabi cuts through the wall is pure gold. I cannot count the number of times in cartoon or movie where the character cuts through a wall or door and makes a perfect circle. I can however count the number times I have successfully free hand cut a circle out of a piece of paper. Zero, the count is zero.

You were talking about how detailed it is. If you look at the entrance to the hall where the inventions are being shown off when they all come out after Hiro's presentation, you can see the banners RIPPLING IN THE BREEZE. They put a hellacious amount of thought into everything for this movie, even into the background things.

Marvel Comics' version of these characters doesn't come close to Disney's. I think if one day they decide to introduce them in the MCU, I hope they make a version closer to the Disney version they can make.

cool fact, the reason why Baymax is so different from the comics version (which is basicaly a robot dragon) is because Stan lee inspired himself from one of his earlier project that had been discontinued before it's completion (they had to stop after 2 seasons wich is sad since the end of the last episode was left open to intoduce a season that never came). The project name his "Heroman" it's a japanese manga and anime made jointly by marvel and a japanese studio named "Bones" (I think that was the name) in which a teenager named "Joey Jones" fight off an alien invasion with his semi-sentient robot "Heroman" (a small toy-like robot that, once activated by Joey, turn into a big white humanoid shaped robot with electro-magnetic powers but turn red and goes absolutly berserk whenever Joey is hurt). One thing for sure is that Stan lee lived his life to the fullest😂.

The reason Hiro told them to target the microbots instead of the mask...is because then Callaghan can't defend himself. If they all go for the mask, then Callaghan only has to defend one thing...himself. If they attack the microbots, he has to split his defenses six ways at all times, and always loses something in the exchange...because if he DOESN'T engage them, he'll leave himself vulnerable. It's a perfect plan, given the circumstances. Because of the portal, the microbots become a liability rather than an asset when the team starts attacking them instead of him.

5:41 never seen Ghostbusters ?!? 7:50 i see, You have a cup of Yourself ;) 24:05 all was in control, until callaghan said:"that was his mistake" the disregard of his brothers attempt to save callaghan as mistake, was just to much... he is a pubescant youth, that just lost his brother, and now callaghan says such a horrible thing.... i don´t blame hiro 27:20 then what, does not exiyst in callaghans mind anymore... his loss and grief led him to anger and now, that he has the power, to get his revenge, it is all that he feels, the need to get revenge... there is no more thinking aboud after that, or consequences... if youhide away, your grief and anger, it builds up and builds up until it boils over, which happened when callaghan saw an opportunity to exact his vengeance.... 29:04 the same words, as the last words from tadashi to hiro "someone has to help"

27:00 The reason why Callahan went after Krei's building to "exact revenge" was because Krei is very, not quite arrogant, but somewhere along the lines of that, he cares a lot for his business/money (shown more in depth in the series), and honestly it doesn't look much like he has anyone that Callahan can "take away" so Abigail was Callahan's everything and Krei Tech was Krei's everything. Honestly though before I really paid any attention to that fact I would have to agree with that fact that could you really compare your daughter to the building? But after thinking more about Krei's character and then watching how he is in the series, it made much more sense as to why Callahan did that.

This movie is based on a group of heroes from marvel that are Disnyfered so when you said that a certain character needed to be in the mcu you weren't far from the truth And the Brother that died Is a hulk in the comic

😎👍 You really can't go wrong with Disney/Pixar. Now that you've seen this, "Wall-E," "Lilo & Stitch" and "Zootopia," it's time to move on to "The Incredibles," "Monsters Inc," "Ratatouille," "Wreck It Ralph" and a whole bunch of others. The only one to avoid is "Strange World," and although I haven't seen it yet, I hear that the latest ("Wish") also isn't any good.

I haven't seen this in a minute but I finally connected Fred's voice to the expanding MCU, as he is Deadpool's buddy Weasel, the bartender. Also appearing in Deadpool 2 is Alan Tudyk, who was Krei in this film. You can't make a movie these days without someone who has been in something Marvel it seems.

After losing his daughter, Callaghan wanted Krei to suffer the way he did. But since Krei didn't have any children of his own, he instead targeted his company (which could be viewed as Krei's "child", so to speak).

There is no winning in revenge. Usually the objective is just to destroy others life, to make them suffer like they did to you. A lot of people who seek revenge are well aware that they will obtain nothing from it, neighter joy nor peace, but again, that is not their objective. So Callaghan would have never "won", he already lost everything. All he wanted to do was to make Krei lose everything and because Krei is a materialistic person he cares a lot about his "properties", so destroying the work of his life was the thing that would have made him lose what he cared the most.

Since you were questioning Callaghan's logic, one thing I think is interesting is that it never seems to occur to him that rebuilding the portal might be a chance to find his daughter. He's so lost in grief and hellbent on revenge that the idea that there's a chance to just right the thing that went wrong is totally out of his thinking. And regarding the idea of him "winning", I don't think he does really, I don't think destroying Krei's building was gonna bring him any peace, and now he has to live with having betrayed everything he once stood for, including knowing it was all for no reason. I think without his grief and anger to cloud his judgement, he'll carry that guilt for the rest of his life.

The comment about never wanting your family to leave the house again made me think of the 2018 tv series called The Haunting of Hill House. I love that you caught that the rich kids father looks like Stan Lee in a super hero movie. Also if you want an excellent movie that has the same directors as Infinity War I'd recommend you check out Everything Everywhere All at Once.

I really enjoyed watching Big Hero 6 with you again as this was my fifth time watching this movie. I loved the brother relationship between Tadashi and Hiro, the lesson of being unique with your mind/in the way you think when it comes to coming up with ideas and being brilliant and a genius, the other characters/his friends as Fred is my favorite. I loved the song ‘Immortals’ by Fall Out Boy. Loved your reactions/analysis, take care, stay healthy and have a good one
