I can't believe how many Missouri land records I'm finding for different family members back in the 1800's. Trying to do this manually would take forever and you would probably miss a lot of them because of all the different years it covers. I'm finding records from the 1840's through the 1890's that are spread out through about 5 to 6 different counties.

Summary: now you can do a full text search on Family Search of probate records, land records. Can help identify names. Experimental view experience; need a registered FS account. Won't have to rely upon index. Can go directly to documents. Cool.

Tried it out, while watching your video, and found what may be a GG-grandfather, in a deed in White county, IL! He has been a bit of a brick wall, because he has gotten conflated with another man with the same name, who lived in Effingham County IL. I will definitley be digging into this further.

The searchable feature from Famliysearch is exciting. I just tried it out whilst watching your video and already found 1 1805 land record that mentions one of my ancestors in a land transfer between 2 other people that wouldn't have shown up in the index. I wonder if AI will be better at reading some of this old hand writing than I am :)

I just tried this tool with a few people I'm working on, and although it is cool, you can't put in tags or locations NOT to include in the search. Also, being able to put in quotes name or phrases that you want to stick together would be great.

You can use quotation marks for an exact phrase. The problem is that if the handwriting recognition is a bit off (or if a word is spelled differently than your search) it won’t show up.

A lot of countries don't have births, deaths and marriage records until really late, for instance mid 1930's. Also, a lot of people in those countries have only one name. Family Search wants people to have first and surnames, but people just didn't have that for instance in England, the Poll Tax made the difference, but many countries didn't have that either. So, many dates are just best guesses, and people have just one name.

I just saw this and yes I was with so many wonderful classes that were presented. I don’t trust AI . Can I still get to the classes still in April? I just heard you say about the handwriting reading by AI and I am thankful for that!

The stream seemed to work well.. did not see it live... but the beackground noise is not too bad. your voice is coming through well... but the overall volume was kinda low.
