When he says 'what it means to be a Geordie',I gulped. I'm a Scouser and I know that feeling so well,it's in your heart and in your soul. You are the bearer of the legacy of those hard working, often oppressed,mainly working class people who persevered through the adversity of the 20th century. Even to this day these cities are some of the most deprived in the country,often overlooked for regeneration in favour of the south.And whilst we may seem bolshie and aggressive at times,it is for a good reason, because we have been put upon for a hell of a long time. Having said that we are also some of the kindest,friendly,most giving people I have ever known, who would help anybody in trouble,and I say that as somebody who has travelled extensively, and seen how others behave towards each other.

As an Irishman from Belfast I spent the 1990s in Newcastle, usually running the GNR and especially in scruffy Murphy's pub underneath eldon square, definitely for me the best city in Britain and will always be home away from home to me . Thank you Newcastle upon Tyne for giving me some of the greatest memories of my life and wonderful friends I still have never forgotten.🇮🇪

My late son Nathan was like me a great fan of jimmy nail and he loved watching all the programmes he was in especially crocodile shoes and when I took him to see jimmy in concert he face lite up like a golden star 🌟 he would have loved this version and although it’s been 23 years this year he was killed by a police informer ( who never got prosecuted ) I still can see that star in his eyes bless him, thank you jimmy for all the pleasure you gave him not only in your programmes but your records too

I was a big "Spender" fan and because of this got some of Jimmy's music in the 90s, I'm a fast ford fan too, and as I've been watching a renovation of a black Sierra Sapphire RS Cosworth on a KZfaq channel it slow burned my brain to re watch spender, what a classy programme which passes muster even today. I will certainly get my cds out and have them on in the car. Jimmy is a talent that has been under publicised (perhaps on purpose for personal reasons) on the TV screens either as an accomplished actor or indeed as a wonderful singer and musician. It's time he was back on the TV or indeed charts.
