G'day, welcome to another video! It's always a great day fishing when you manage to beat a personal best, and in this session I happened to upgrade it TWICE!
We're fishing at the Sunshine Coast in this video, looking for fish and bait holding up off the bottom on the sounder (which tend to be snapper). We're using a mixture of baits and Zman soft plastics, so watch on to see our techniques, bait presentation, gear, and some other tips on how to catch snapper. Also, check out the video linked below!

Thanks so much Wendy! Yeah we always seem to lose a couple when we hook the bigger ones, they are great at shaking the hooks and finding the reef! 😩 I’m sure when you’re back out on the water again you’ll smash them! 😁🙌

That's awesome Will, such great fish there and a couple of good ones lost too. Your Dad obviously took the loss of his big one to heart, I saw he took a seat for a second to recover. I reckon that would have been me also haha. What a great way to break up my work day, thanks for sharing that, I was hanging out all day.

Thanks for the great video - Do you have any brand of leader you like for Soft Plastics - ie what your 14lbs leader mentioned here - Thanks

Hi mate, thanks for the comment and I’m glad you enjoyed!! We use Berkley Vanish Flourocarbon as our leader. We use the 14lb for soft plastics, and 20 or 30lb for bait fishing for snapper and reefies. I believe you can get it in 250yd spools which works out to be fairly cheap! Tight lines 😁👍

Sweet video man , what’s the white float you have out behind the boat??

Thanks heaps mate!! That white float is just attached to our sea anchor/drogue. This is a parachute that you tie off to the boat and drag behind it to slow down your drift while out on the reef! This helps keep your lines going straight down rather than on a big angle out the back. We swear by it some days when the wind is making us drift too fast. Cheers mate and tight lines 👍🎣

@@mrawesome001 Yeah we barely ever anchor anymore, we just drift. For mackerel we’ll often anchor, but for snapper and reefies we like to drift so we can keep moving around to find them and drop our baits right on top of them 👌 plus it’s good to cover more ground. They are definitely a great investment!

Hey mate, no this wasn’t on Saturday, we filmed it a couple of weeks ago. I had some issues with my hard drive so only just got around to posting it up! That’s awesome that you got out there in some nice weather and nailed a few snapper. We were definitely happy to come across some bigger ones, some days it seems you can only find smaller ones and some days they are hard to find at all, so you definitely have to appreciate trips like this one. Tight lines 🙌🎣

Hey mate, yeah 100% ! I’m going to do a video on this because I’ve had the question a lot. I’ll walk through the settings we use and what we’re looking for pretty much! 👌 Basically though, we usually fish areas around 25-65m deep and just run standard downscan, with no zoom at the moment. Then just GPS with a track behind the boat so we can see exactly where we have driven/drifted 👌 Very basic, but gets the job done for sure. Stay tuned for that video, I’ll put one together asap
