@@tavopich6034 it would have been the other way around, they offered too, but btr couldn't because of the show, the damn show dude, if they didn't have anything to do with Nickelodeon they would have been the biggest boy band, they were at a tiny part in time but this time they're coming back after COVID is over with, no management, just 4 them in charge doing things they want to do it and they will be bigger than ever I just know it.

In my opinion BTR can actually harmonize better than 1D, don't get me wrong 1D sound great when harmonizing but tbh it's kind of mainly just Louis keeping it together, a person shouldn't carry a harmony, it should be a team effort, most of the time they usually deliver kind of a 3 part harmony and the other 2 are just, idk. BTR they all contribute to it and they just sound great.

I was a fan since the first commercial for the show came out and I didn't know they could sing like that, lol. Like the first reply mentioned, Nickelodeon drowned them in autotune when it wasn't needed. Disappointing!

They were steadily gaining attention in mainstream media in 2011 due to their hit singles "Boyfriend" and "Music Sounds Better" which both hit the American Top 40 that year. Columbia Records and Sony music orchestrated their downfall by signing One Direction in late 2011. "Worldwide" also hit the Billboard Hot 100. After signing 1D, they decided to put all their eggs into one basket, when really, there should've been a healthy competition between both boybands, seeing as how one band is American and the other is British. To add insult to injury, Columbia plopped 1D into the role of opening act for BTR's Better With U tour in 2012. Kendall Schmidt himself said that that was the beginning of musical tension between BTR and Sony. More sabotage followed, which eventually caused BTR's hiatus in 2014.

i only say this about a few people... THEY SLAYED this performance :D i mean they didn't kill it, they mutilated and murdered this song in THE most positve way. i mean it's incredible, i can barely type this my fingers are sweating. TRUE. TALENT!!!! this stems outside of being a rusher, in general anyone can tell they handled this performance like a boss.....

1D became bigger and bigger. Nickelodeon thought BTR couldn't compet with 1D and when the show ended Nickelodeon didn't extended their contracts and BTR decided to go separate ways. It's not 100% clear what was actually the reason but this is the most shared explenation of why.

I wasn't expecting this from them; their range wasn't hinted by unfimiliarity; they OWNED it. I love this version of the anthem; not many people today will willingly step up and offer to do this because they'll lose followers for being "too patriotic". This was most excellent!
