Interesting advice, gonna give some of the tips a shot this weekend. Coming from South Florida to Jacksonville,FL was a huge change. Watching your videos has helped me adapt, very much appreciated.

I just have a comment about the boga. When you hang the fish verticle by a boga it cranks their neck, moves their internal organs, and it stuns the fish. That is why when you hang the fish on the boga, they don't swim away right away. This can't be good for the fish. I am switching to "fish grips" now and I just take the length of the fish. the fish grips are easier to use if you keep the fish horizontal. I believe my large trout are releasing better as a result. Reds seem to be a little tougher.

I have winter wade fished Baffin for years and I can tell you for a fact that working lures slow in the winter is not always the ticket. Yes I get it, it is a rule of thumb but sometimes they want it worked fast in the winter too. If you go out and just stubbornly stick with a slow retrieve you may be missing fish. Mix it up.

It would much more helpful if you showed what you were doing when the fish strikes as opposed to just showing you reeling the fish in. Good shots, but left me wanting to see more.

That's a great catch. I caught a 29 and 1/2 inch speckled trout that weighed a little over 9 pounds December the 27th 2018 wading in the water at Southport North Carolina. I had my GoPro 4 and filmed the whole thing. If anyone would like to see , it's under jammin Jerry's country tales .check it out brother fishermans.

This location looked like Holly Beach in deep south TX. I've seen a well over 50" spec landed out of there.. no joke. My pb is 29"3/4 at SPI on Dec. 28, 1998. Besides, if you pull up a fishing map of the Lower Laguna Madre, it'll clearly show that Holly is a monster spec spot.

Are you wearing a wader belt? It does not matter how good your waders are if you step in a hole. If those waders fill up with water you are in trouble. WIth a wader belt on and the right upper body gear on i have stepped in a hole or fallen and come out with nothing but my head and hands wet. A wader belt is just as important as the waders.

LoneStarGal100 You 're a girl so you would have to get to the shallows or get on the boat but guys don't care. If we have to go, we go and the cold ain't gonna stop us.
