Sam I would NEVER move my aging parents to America to work, invest in them in Kenya, biashara or what they like doing, Kenya is relaxing and they will age more gracefully. America is tough for aging parents. They can come visit and go back as they wish but selling everything to move to America is a Veryyyy bad idea, it’s becoming more common!!

One test i do, if someone asks for money but never asks about your kids, wife is not your friend, they just want a piece of you. Most won't even acknowledge they received the money, they wait for you to ask and still blame you for not sending enough.

True story Sam! Myself I walk in America in 1997! I was shocked and went right back to Tz after 2 months! My siblings laughed at me and said mimi ni lazy! I rebuilt myself psychological America is tough world! I learned how to do everything from farming, cattlemen job, home cleaning, etc 1 year later I came back to US 1999! As soon after everything started shining ndugu wote want piece of cake! I gave them 🖕🏼! Ndio maana I insist in you focus on na mtoi wako na mke sio ndugu aisee! My greatest achievement in life is become American! I can do anything as I want! I refused to sponsor any relatives apate green card! They can do their own way as I did! 😂😢👊🤝

When I was struggling in Kenya 99% of my relatives never called me to check on me, I started a hustling at the age of 17 immediately after high school. Same relatives started calling me when they discovered that I made it to Mr Biden soil reaching out to me with collections of their problems. I made a decision to focus on my self, I will help where I can but non of them should feel entitled. Build yourself first. I am not a sponge, I can absorb that much.

Maze, coming to America is a crucial decision. Staying here too takes a lot of consideration. I think at the end of the day, you have to really look at the reason why you are coming and stretch it over the years to assess its impact on your family, finances and your view of life. While you are here too, your dreams change, and you end changing the original drawing book. So whats the final judgement, understand that you came to america for yourself, the rest comes later.

“Stuck between a rock and a hard place” is indeed fitting here. Haki hii story ni sad sana, and it happens all the time! It’s bizarre how she was able to sponsor and support her entire family but they couldn’t collectively return the favour when tables turned. She gave everything to her family and left nothing for herself. I am glad she found a somewhat happy ending. I am of the opinion that my parents don’t belong here. Let me guess, she’s a first born! Her parents should have been there for her for as long as they lived! Family will drain you and laugh at you while you struggle😢

Sam thanks for your regular content. I choose to disagree with you today. Give and don't want to receive back. I'm in Kenya, and in the last 6 years, I thinks I have given close to Ksh 3m. I've seen that the more I give, the more I receive. Now, here is my testimony - I'm based in 254, and primarily work online. Over just the last 7yrs I have been awarded research contracts from from across the globe worth close to USD150K. Mark you, the Corona time was my best period! Sam, you consider yourself blessed by the Lord - rights. Believe me, these opened doors were never your effort. Trace these favours you receive back to the good you did to other people earlier. Proverbs 19:17 - Mercy to the needy is a loan to GOD. So when you give, never expect people to pay you back - Not even to show you love in return.
