I like this theory. A lot.

This one seemed a bit easier...though also more difficult, so I’d believe they were hopeful we would try to uncover a few particular points, while not giving us much more. This one will be fun, as I’m looking forward to hearing everyone’s plot theories.

Yes they absolutely hoped we would try that, otherwise they could just have covered it or bluurred it to the extent where it would be indistinguishable as words. They made it challenging so that fans would have some fun trying to figure it out.

@@jwinget1999 yeah they didn't put the title page for one episode behind the one for another last year to give us a blurred title because they didn't think we'd notice. They know how paranoid we are.

For sure. This one feels more like a game...the Mat Script was much more difficult. An order of magnitude more difficult, so I doubt that one was as intentional.

Unless they were actually surprised at the start of unbluring that was done back in December and decided to blur it more this time, never expecting the community to go even further...

@@roxelaneelmira4678 Could be! I would say that us unblurring Mat's script likely came as a bigger surprise, than this dialog stuff. But I love that idea that we are wrong about stuff, so they'll let us continue to try to unblur real things for the speculation purposes. :)

It did! We tried...:(. The most we can say so far is that it is likely Rand and Dana, too. But that will likely prove too faint to get much more. That’s not to say I won’t try. That version did help with one or two more words in that sentence. “This town” are two words I am relatively confident about in the first of those two lines mid to further in on that line.

I do like that Thom is a mover and shaker that way early on in the books. Though, it doesn't have to be because they killed someone we met for all of a few chapters. But it could be. We'll see if they bring Dana into Season 2.

This definitely kicks off a bunch of theories. Is there a relationship? Or, just a nod? Will we see her after this? How long with Thom stay with the boys? Did the boys break up from the group before or after Shadar Logoth? Is Thom going to Fal Dara? Will we still get Whitebridge? Will she die in Season 1?

Thanks, Rebecca! I'm hopeful we still see her perform. I like the idea that it is a nod to fans, plus something possibly in the future. As far as filled with longing, all of those seem like great options. We did try song, music, and others. Though, we didn't focus on longing for food from what I recall. I could try some food related ones. My head canon is that it's about Dana...I hope to revisit it...I feel like we can get it...but it's tough to put that amount of time in, lol.

@@TheDustyWheel it’s a ton of work you put into it and probably drove you crazy at times. The fans appreciate it! It could be about Dana, maybe she is filled with longing as she looks at Thom or maybe at the stage. If again the Easter egg is that she wants to be a gleeman.

Yeah, they could be setting us up here for something that happens in Season 2, and modifying her name a little bit, because they've changed up her arc a bit.

Exactly this. I hope they decided to give her more screen time at the expense of other minor characters. She is important to Thom's arc and the main arc. So, The Compendium of Wheel of Time Characters lists 2782 distinct named characters. I could not find a statistical analysis how many have no dialogue; how many have one liners, etc. It is logical to remove most minor characters for the TV production. However I would guess the following: - Most minor characters will be removed. - Some will appear on screen played by extras (or multiple characters played by single actor/actress) I hope for some of those characters, that are important to the arc or loved by the readers - like Dena, they have decided to give more screen time and book actresses and actors instead of axing the character completely.

We looked at laughing, as we thought that made the most sense...but the word looks too long. Longing fits best. :)

I think I've tried eyes and the blurs didn't line up. I'll try that right now...it's not eyes to the left of "the". That word most likely begins with the letter p, g, or y. I think p.

@@TheDustyWheel On second glance, you are 100% right. I thought that dip was after a letter. In fact, it is at the beginning. You are a wizard :) I'm sure you considered this, but that word looks like it ends in a d. I agree on the p. maybe paid? that doesn't really fit well into the sentence structure, though it is before a comma. It could be linked sentences.

That line looks as if it starts with a name. Rand? There is definitely a capital starting it. And it looks like R. Maybe "Rand paid the ..."

@@rainbowsprinklez It's a fun game...until you are seven hours in, lol. We are annoyed that we couldn't match anything close enough to make sense. A "d" at the end is a possibility. I actually created a blur alphabet...and then realized how much insane amounts of time it would take, because it's the mix of the blurred characters that make the right shape...which I tried a bit...lol. Fun stuff right?

@@rainbowsprinklez We tried both Rand and Dana there. It's a strange word. It's somewhere between 4-5 characters long, so it seems like one of the letters might be widened enough to not be as clearly one or the other. Four seems more correct than five, and capitalized is likely. Dana looks much more likely between the two.

@@TheDustyWheel my take is they bring the romance foreword and more on screen so her death has bigger impact to viewers later on, rather than randomly appearing and dying in the same episode. The theory I less want to be true is that we only see Thom and Dena for an episode, in the town where they meet, and rushing into a whitebridge storyline wherever it is. Not sure how I feel about that though, feel like we need more time with Thom and Moiraine together and that road doesn’t give much chance for them

@@LyricalEmber I could go either way. I could see them bringing her back into Season 2 with Thom, and not having Season 2 where we first meet and then lose Dena, for the impact. And I wouldn't mind that at all. Though, no romances for him, showing him down on his life and luck a bit, where then setting the stage for later romance, would make sense to me, too.

It's definitely in Season 1, so that seems unlikely. It would be fun to chart where this is.

I feel like changing her name to DANA suggests they are changing it up. That’s not to say they won’t bring her back Season 2, but I lean towards this meaning we are NOT getting Dena as is. But maybe that does elude to more not less.

We tried all sorts of word combinations that looked like what we unblurred, like voice and music, but nothing fit great. It could be the atmosphere, the faces of the people there, all sorts of things. There was a question about whether it said laughing or longing...but I'm very confident it does not say laughing.

@@TheDustyWheel hmmm good question. The group is split before SL instead of because of events in SL. But there would need to be a defining event to cause the split and nothing big enough exists as written by RJ before SL. Right? So Rafe would have to write an event. Why write an event when SL provides the event needed? Unless, by splitting them up earlier and having just Rand and Mat go into SL sets up a much deeper/broader set of events around the dagger, padan fain/mordeth, and Mat’s arc to make Mat “more/richer/deeper” character in EotW. Many in fandom feel that there is not enough of Mat in the books until he is healed of the dagger’s influence. I could see Rafe using something like this to help build up Mat earlier for the series. Rafe might go so far as to heal Mat a lot earlier too. Although keeping him sick and in danger of the corrupting effects would lend to a bigger buildup of tension and cartharsis for the plot in the series.

I go back and forth. There are wonderful actors playing all of Emond’s Field and they can’t be in the show much more than a single episode. I like the idea that her name is a nod but that she is doing more, but I’m doubting more than two episodes. Maybe I’ll be shocked. Them trolling me would be hilarious, but I’m just some dude on a KZfaq channel. At the very least, I hope I made them do a double take.

The word "back" right before the comma is something we strongly believe in, but we couldn't find any other word to fit "is [four-letter-word] back, filling with longing" that fit right, and other words instead of back fit well to. It was close, but I decided not to include it.

The five letter word after the is not woman, but we tried that one.

I think Rafe said, "Gird your loins," about changes. Are you speaking specific to meeting up with Thom later, and him not being in Emond's Field, or regarding the theories behind this Dana character, or all of the above?

To be fair, for a TV adaptation they really need to be leaving the Two Rivers in episode 1. So that's, what, an hour? That's a lot to pack in and I can see why they might want to push Thom's introduction to later in the timeline, so we get to meet him in all his Gleeman glory. Out of all of the original party, he has the least reason to be there from the start.
