It's so interesting to see that people are checking out BIGBANG later then much newer groups, since my kpop journey started with them. GD was my first bias and BB's music was what made me look into kpop more. I feel like BIGBANG was a huge part of how kpop is today, most 3rd gen idols (and even 4th gen idols, but they can't say it) look up to them so much, GD is the number one icon in kpop, no one can ever top his achivements, success and character. I'm excited to see them back in april, their comeback will be the best birthday present! this is interesting because Bigbang is a group that debuted in 2006 and is still active today after a hiatus of several years. hearing their songs made me feel back to the golden age where they were so revered. Their unique songs and equally unique style make them different from other groups. Bigbang is just a bigbang whose concept is difficult for others to imitate. They are the only legend group for me the best. And today... they're back. I hope many kpop booths nowadays will know more about this one legend.

You need to check out their live performances, they're the best when it comes to stage presence. To be honest, I've been into kpop since 2008, and I never seen any performance like theirs. That's what I really miss from them. Finally they're back!!! People are trying to drag them down, but no one can deny they're most musically talented in kpop industry. I hope this comeback is a fresh new start for BIGBANG.

About the collar/leash, that was the idea of their choreographer for this song, Parris Goebel. That's her in the MV. Both her and GD were chained to each other by the neck. She also performed the intro to BANG BANG BANG with her dancers for the song at an awards ceremony. As a VIP, as much as I want to let you watch their MVs but I suggest just react straight to their live performances. Their concerts are the best, VIPs don’t really watch MVs because we love their live performances. I suggest 0 to 10 Final in Japan or Seoul & MADE concerts. Also, MAMA 2015 is their last MAMA stage, and that was iconic. I’m so hyped. KINGS are really coming back! 👑💛

Here is a "brief" introduction and history of Bigbang: They debuted in 2006 from YG. They were not super successfull right from the start but with Lies in 2007 and Haru Haru in 2008 they catapulted to superstardom in South Korea. And they just grew bigger with each comeback and started to get international fame too. And this was before KZfaq and social media were huge like they are now. They really like to experiment with their music, you'll never know what to expect from them.... pop-rock to EDM to old school rap and everything in between. I think that is one of the biggest reasons why they are so loved by both kpop fans and the general public. Never trust a kpop fan who doesn't know Bigbang (or the other 2nd gen big ones). They are the blueprint that other companies use to form their new groups. The members are GD (G-Dragon): Leader, Lead rapper, Vocals, Producer, Songwriter, born 1988 (red hair in Bangx3) TOP: Main rapper, minimal vocals, Producer, Songwriter, Actor, Art collector, born 1987 (the deep voiced rapper) Taeyang: Main vocal, Producer, Songwriter, born 1988 (pink hair in Bangx3) Daesung: Vocals, Producer, Songwriter, born 1989 (brown hair, can't see behind his bangs in Bangx3) (most of his solo stuff is under the name D-Lite in Japan) ex-member Seungri: Vocals, Producer, Songwriter, born 1990 (white hair in Bangx3) (Left BB in 2019 due to a scandal (but he was our maknae for 13 years so I'm including him here still), if you want to know more I can write a new comment on that, but all in all it was a super messy, public and complicated thing that was part a witch hunt and part covering bigger issues and there was some small part that was the truth. There is A LOT of wrong info going around on this scandal so be careful if reading about it.) They don't really dance during their MVs and lives (like pretty much all other groups do) but they are talented dancers, especially Taeyang, GD and Seungri. When you get to know them more you will see that TOP is the greatest dancer of all!! LOL Seungri even had a dance academy and many idols trained there, like J-Hope (BTS) and Minzy (2NE1). BB are the kings of live performances!! They like to arrange their songs differently for pretty much every consert and live show. They have had the same live band with them since 2012. The band six toured with BB for years until they went to hiatus for military and the band has since toured with other YG groups, mainly Blackpink. My personal favs live are Café, Haru Haru (acoustic version), Tell Me Goodbye (specificly in Japan Dome Tour X 2014-2015 in Tokyo) and Sober (with Daesung on the drums in MADE tour). I highly recommend watching a consert, the Japan dome tour X 2014-2015 is one of the best ones and the MADE and 0to10 tours are also a great ones. But to fully grasp the impact they have had, here is a list of some things that are normal now but what Bigbang started: - Lightsticks (GD invented the concept and designed BB's yellow crown lightstick, the bang bong) - TOP was the first underground rapper turned idol (turned into a successfull actor) - Writing their own songs and producing their own music (GD, the musical genius, but all of them write and produce) - Different genres of music started to be more common in Kpop thanks to them (Hip Hop, EDM...) as they were exploring different genres and making variety of differend genre music. And started to combine different genres in one song. Like Bang bang bang. - Fantastic Baby started the EDM era in Kpop. - To have actual rappers (a real rapline) in a group and not a singer who has trained to rap here and there. The rapline GD&TOP (and they actually have an album together) are one of if not the best raplines in kpop. - Rapper combo with higher voice and a deeper voice and pretty much every group has a deep voiced rapper thanks to our Tabi (one of TOPs many nicknames) - Solo carees, back in the day idols started their solo careers only after disbanding, but BB members wanted to go solo and stay in BB. And they have done it super well.. All of them have a very successful solo careers. - International success. They were the first ones to have a real world tour, first international awards, etc. - YG made BIGBANG but BIGBANG made YG. YG ent is one of the "BIG 3" (or the big 4... with Hybe) all thanks to BB. They were extremely poor when BB debuted and thanks to their success they are now one of the biggest companies out there. At one point over 60% of YGEs income came from Bigbang and this was for a long time. - Also "the YG sound" came from Bigbang (and Teddy) - First mini albums - They were always themselves, goofy, a bit crazy and funny. So groups now can also be more free to who they are. - High fashion in kpop - Crazy hair colors - The list goes on.. They've had some scandals over the years (some real and some not) but in my opinion most of it is just South Korean media hating on them (they always have) and them being grown up men just living their life in a super conservative world of kpop idols (things used to be very different in the "golden era" of kpop when the 2nd gen was at it's peak). What I personally like the most about them is that they really don't give a f**k about anything anymore, they just do what they like the most and that is excellent music. With this modern era of kpop with the super conservative rules it'll be fun to see BB shake things up when they make a comeback on April 5th!! I would recommend to start either from the start or go with the most recent MADE album. All songs from that album (except If You, see the tour report for this one) has an MV. Also they all have excellent solo music with their own flare. Please check out Daesung (D-Lite) - Anymore (live Japan dome tour 2017) and TOP- Doom Dada (MV) for starters.

G-Dragon does seem like quite a weird name. People used crazy names in the 2010 era of KPOP HAHAH. but G-Dragon is taken from his birth name Jiyong. Ji (G) and Yong (means Dragon in Korean). He is also born in the year of the dragon (Chinese zodiac). 8 is a very important number to him and is used in a lot of his lyrics because he was born on 8/18/88. T.O.P is pronounced either or. People call him Top all the time but the correct way is as you say it T. O. P. And for Fxxk It. The Korean lyrics they were saying quite literally means "whatever...fuck it" (or just fuck it) in Korean so they translated it as fuck it which makes sense. There are parts where they are saying "I wanna get down" and not Korean "fuck it" but it was translated as "fuck it" in the captions though.

You dont even have to know them to know for yourself that they're iconic and legendary. I wasnt into kpop then but ive already heard and seen quite a lot of kpop stuff then and i knew right off the bat they were different. I'll always look back to that very moment as one of my fondest memory in life, they brought me to kpop and up to this day, they're still my standard. Bigbang is a whole genre in inself. Their discography is insane...ly good. Live performance unmatched by any idol group. And GD has produced and wrote most of their songs. They are levels above any idol group. GD mentored IKON when they were starting. You should listen to their old songs and see how far they have come.

It broke my heart when he called Daesung maknae... Actually BIGBANG kinda made maknae concept mainstream since Top and Seungri are both named Seunghyun, so members just started calling Riri little one - literally maknae (he was just 15 when he debuted). Anyway - thanks for keeping it respectful towards Riri. We always appreciate it a lot (especially since many people like to spread missinformations about him for some reason).

MADE is the most diverse album that I've ever heard. Like, they really used numerous genre's within that album. You already witness it in these three songs.If you will also listen to LAST DANCE, LOSER, LET'S NOT FALL IN LOVE and SOBER, you will hear another set of genre's RJ. I also like to see RJ reacting like he is in another world watching those videos. Lol. Yeah, Bigbang is really different compare to other kpop groups out der. The lady and GD both had collars around their necks and were chained together. I forget her name, but she was a leader of an international famous dance crew from New Zealand. Royal something or the other way around. She and they performed with Big Bang and 2NE1 during the 2015 MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards) where Big Bang, as usually, killed it. You have NEVER seen an American music award show that comes even close to even a so-so MAMA. Or some of the others. Blew grannies mind and I can’t afford to lose marbles. Three hours of LIVE entertainment by the artists themselves and the most amazing staging. I happened to live where there was a couple of weird satellite stations that aired S. Korean programs at night. The one station aired the 2015 MAMA three times. Yes! Then I moved. Nooooooooooooo! Can’t even get S. Korean broadcasts in an extra package.😭😭 Big Bang are not only the 2nd Generation Kings but also are the best live performers. And I do mean live. They sing. I am not an impressionable teen. Am a 71 year old American granny who doesn’t know Korean. I saw the Beatles live at the Hollywood Bowl. Did not hear them because of the screaming, but saw them. Big Bang is in my top 5 all time favorites list. The Beatles are not even close. Big Bang are unpredictable. You don’t know what you are going to hear or see in the MVs or live performances. Only expect to laugh, need to dance, or cry. Try “Haru, Haru”, “Last Dance”, and “Flower Road” (no MV made) for songs that will make you sad. They all had solo careers and sometimes only a couple of them performed a song together. Zutter and I am a Bad Boy are two examples. Pretty much every boy group looks up to them. They are Ikons.

My ult group! I’ve been with BIGBANG (VIP) since 2006😭. They boys have started a lot of what is now the norms in KPop. They really have their own colors and really don’t care what the general public has to say on how they do their music which in turn the general public love lol it’s a love hate relationship. They started out in 2006 as a korean b2k, with r&b and hiphop roots, they popularized the genre to the mainstream public and are called the blueprint, because every kpop group is now based on what they pioneered (doing hiphop, having rappers in the group, having lightsticks) they are all successful solo artists apart from bigbang (only kpop group to achieve this). T.O.P is my bias. I love his deep voice and his flow. My favorite BB song is Haru Haru. If you like Bang Bang Bang, I think you will also like Fantastic Baby. It has a similar feel.

Things in KPOP that didn’t exist until Bigbang. 1. KPOP Lightstick, yellow Flower Crown was the first official group light stick. 2. Mini Albums, groups always released full albums. This allowed BB to release more. Other groups followed. 3. Live performances, because of them MNET and Inkigayo started forcing groups to sing live. Let’s just say, some companies (SM at the time) had entire fits about this. Watch BB live performances, really only group where the stage performances enhance the already great songs.

GDragon has been in the business since he was 3 years old. He's the original one and only King of KPop, in the same way Michael Jackson is the King of Pop in western culture. T.O.P - The Original Pimp - can be said as both top or T.O.P. Tae YANG, like tang. Yes, GDragon is chained to Parris Goebel, the famed choreographer. She put it like this: "Creatively it was so much fun. We were chained together by the neck to show we are connected together. That was an idea from G-Dragon, which I thought rocked." The subtitles in F**K It are wrong. Early days of subtitling what ya gonna do. GD likes to write phrases/words in English and Hangul that sound alike, he loves wordplay. So in this case he's using a Korean phrase for the Western phrase "F**K It" but there isn't really an equivalent cuss word in Korean. Then whenever they sing "girl" first, they are singing "Girl, I wanna get down" which sounds like the phrase ela moleugessda. We Like to Party was recorded while they were drinking. They shot the video while drinking and the scene in the Jeep was Instagrammed Live by T.O.P while they were shooting. It's very much about sharing their real selves with the fans. BigBang is a big reason why K-Pop is so big internationally right now! They are legends. Also trendsetters. They are the first K-Pop band to start the colored hair style.

Another throw back group is TVXQ who debuted in 2003:) they are sooo good I would recommend ‘Mirotic’ and their two members Max Changmin and U-Know both have bomb solos :)

The most important thing, off all of them, that needs to be said, and a lot of new people in K-pop don't know, is the fact that K-pop is what K-pop is today because of G-Dragon. This already says so many things hahahaha It was him who started like, every single thing that we have today. Colorful hair, different outfits, airport fashion, idols producing their own music, K-pop style itself, and so much more. For those who don't know about this, you can search for it. It's completely undeniable that he is the King, in every aspect. Period.

You will never seen BIGBANG doing 100% dance choreo on their live or MV (maybe back in their debut era 2006) One and only BIGBANG MV with the most dance is LA LA LA (debut)😅 They just enjoy and going wild on stage. Let's YG dancer doing their job lol

It’s so crazy seeing people react for the first time to Big Bang… I’ve been a fan of BB since before Kpop was a thing so it’s so mind boggling to me to see new kpop fans check out BB now. But even though their songs are dated… you can see their impact and how their music still resonates today. They are trendsetters and pioneers. Most 3rd and 4th gen kpop groups are somewhat modeled after BB.

Watching We like to party made me miss them more. I will never regret stanning them. Their brotherhood is in another level, I can see how much they love each other. I just love them so much and I can't wait for their comeback this April 5.

I really appreciate for you checking them out, i really recommend you to react their other MADE album songs, which is Bae Bae, Sober, Let's Not Falling in Love, Loser and If You, also Zutter (but it's just GD & TOP). I could say that MADE album really represent Bigbang discography since every song is different and very unique. Thank you for the very thoughtful reaction.. Big Bang was my 1st kpop group about 10 years ago. They are true artists and brought into kpop so many things we see as "normal" or expected in today's groups. 1) High tone/low tone rappers together. Before GD (G-dragon) & TOP, this was not a thing. 2) Artists composing, writing & producing their own music. YG trusted them, basically GD, and let them loose to create in whatever genre worked for a song. 3) Varied hair styles & colors. Keep watching them and you will see. I find it amazing that some of them still have hair after all it has been through. 4) The "YG" sound - strangely out of place drops for the choruses that weirdly work, the party ending, and (mostly) deep lyrics, especially in the raps. 5) Wild MVs. Yes that was a woman on a leash during Bang, Bang, Bang, but if you notice, both she & GD were connected by collars. Her name is Paris Goebel, a highly respected choreographer. She has done a lot of their dancers choreography. 6) Doing huge venue tours around the world., not just in Korea & Japan, starting in 2012. By the time they got to their MADE album, they were the gold standard in kpop. Not to say that their road has been easy; media created/exaggerated scandals (oh they love to hate YGE in the kmedia), having their music banned on different music shows, being told they were an ugly group when they debuted, stalkers, etc. I think the MADE album was their answer to everything negative that the media and netizens said about them. Their attitude was: this is us, like it or don't, we are who we are. They flung open doors for groups that came along after, especially at YG, to be creative artists and be true to themselves.

Newer kpop fans have no idea just how innovative and influencial this group was and still is within the industry and Korean culture at large so I just thank reactors so much for reacting to them because it just matters that they're name doesn't fade or be overshadowed by other things. Especially with a comeback in a week from now haha. G dragon broke so many barriers for idols, including big bang being a self producing group, dying hair crazy colors, getting and displaying tattoos... What's great is there is no age limit or demographic within their fandom, and the Korean public doesn't really consider them "idol music" they are truly the cross overs. That festival sound in yg songs? Yeah its a yg thing but that's because of bigbang. They started with nothing and built an empire and changed the landscape of kpop forever. They are one of the first groups to go as global as they did, and are. Sorry I've been a fan since 2010 lol so I have a lot to say about them haha. Can't wait to see what you check out next. I'd suggest "if you", "lies", "blue" and "love song" as well as pretty much anything they've done lol. They all have solo work as well.

Btw, they have that bad boy swag stage persona, but they're softies, very humble, and crazy funny too.

As others point out try a live performance. Look up MAMA 2013 Big Bang. It's a 16 minute performance. 4 of the 5 members do a bit of their own solo songs and they wrap it up with all 5 members doing one of their big hits, Fantastic Baby. You'll get to see how versatile they are.

I love them, I saw them in concert in NY three times. They are my ult group. For GDRAGON's concert I was so sick I ended up in the hospital, almost died, but still made it to the concert just to hear Untitled 2014 live. It was worth it. I missed Taeyang's concert though even though I had tickets. I was still in the hospital.

Bigbang got me into KPOP back in 2012 with their ALIVE album.. it was not "Fantastic Baby" the popular one that got me, but "BLUE". I didn't even understand the lyrics at that time but it went deep into my soul and made me cry ❤️ still one of my favourite Bigbang's song..
