Lies was a song that changed kpop industry . It was the first time an idol was having success writing and producing their music . Like you said kpop has a certain image and it was the same in Korea because idols are trained and the company is in control , give them a concept, an image , songs . Then BigBang came and proved idols can be artists , make their music . They brought freedom and atracted a lot of creative people into the industry . Is really a shame they dont apear to be interested in promotions as a group anymore because they could really blow the stereotype of kpop for the general international public just like they did for Korea . People would not know what hit them if they done promotions now like in 2015

Yaaass!! Live performance of Bigbang! they never fail! The voice, the energy... each presentation is really unique, they never repeat a formula, so you never get bored watching them. Companies used to send their groups to Bigbang concerts to learn from them. I really liked your choice, I personally love Café (I think all VIPs do), and Lies is the song that changed the Korean music scene many years ago, GD wrote it when he was a child. It's a really iconic song (although I've never seen that weird presentation with the chairs hahaha. I personally prefer the acoustic version, but this version is also original, they have made a nod to their old choreography, which they don't usually do anymore) I love it Bigbang is well known for their Bangers, like Bang Bang Bang or Fantastic Baby (I recommend this live performance if you want something stronger: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oqicn5Om3JibmoE.html. Bigbang has a rock soul lol. And that performance is crazy, the emotion... wonderful), but their ballads and mid-tempo songs are second to none.

What i like bout bigbang is, while trying to adapt the western sound, they see to it that it's still 70% kpop. And boy how I love each members' vocal variety, which you would only hear from them. You don't find it in the 2nd and 3rd gen kpop groups or even most of the 4th gen kpop groups. But i would like to say that you'll find it in every YGE honed groups.
