Yes Big Bang were the original legends. I was a VIP before I was ARMY. They're still around, just serving their mandatory military service. Big Bang were the first to receive world recognition in Kpop. GD aka GDragon(Kwon Ji Yong) is the leader and he is an amazing talent. He has a work ethic akin to Beyonce and I love that. He was and still is THE fashion icon of Korea. He's a producer, singer, rapper, dancer and lyricist. He doesn't just write for himself/ the group, he also writes and produces music for other people throughout YG entertainment. Fantastic Baby is THE most iconic kpop song btw, I feel ike you guys weren't really feeling it though as a song lmao. And yes the concept was superhero's and some concept like that but I cant remember.

IDK if you noticed but GDragon CHANGES HIS HAIR COLOR SIX TIMES in the mv with also a full outfit change each time to match obviously. legends only tbh. also this was the only kpop song (besides gangnam style) that I had ever heard before I started listening to kpop. and i didn't even know it was kpop. you would hear it in clubs and mixes and tv commercials and shopping malls. i remember when i first looked up big bang and found this song and was like WAIT I KNOW THIS SONG????

That music video may seem nonsense, but it's not. That was their comeback after struggling from a lot of controversies. Those guys wearing gas mask in the mv represents the VIPs (fans of Bigbang) they are fighting the Antis. And the scene where Daesung fell but the VIPs caught him, that was mere meaningful.

okay, so the story behind the mv that has tons of metaphors regarding the groups history and position during 2011-2012. In 2011, GD and Daesung had some serious scandals (most idols would be kicked out from their group or the group disbanded cos South Korean is quite conservative) but BIGBANG pulled through after they won 2011 MTV EMA Worldwide Act thanks to VIP (their fandom) voting. YGE kept the group and they made BIGBANG Alive album (which Fantastic Baby is a song from). After the scandals, and the fact that BIGBANG's last group album had been in 2008 (they all had solo activities in music, acting ect), there were alot of Anti's who wanted BIGBANG to disband. So the army that wants to stop music are these Anti's and the rebels hide their faces are VIPs who stood with BIGBANG through this hard time, and defended them online through all the hate. The fight to free music is actually a fight to have BIGBANG keep making music. To help the fight for musical freedom, the 5 sleeping Kings awaken. GD, locked on a throne (from his solo singer activities that he had to suspend after his scandal) waiting to awaken (hair long to show time has passed) and ready to fight. In his second solo verse, he's on his throne, wearing a traditional korean crown, chest bandaged from injuries of being hurt by the scandal and the hate thrown at hime repeatedly. Taeyang is the frozen in meditation (from his solo activities) and defrosts surrounded by followers (he had no scandal and a sucessful solo mini-album). He sits on his own throne after he awakens. TOP is locked away in paintings (TOP loves art and it's a metaphor for his acting in series and films) until he's released (returns to BIGBANG as a rapper) and he sits on his throne. Daesung is chained away (Daesung had the worst scandal. He was involved in a car accident late at night and the motorist passed away. He had ungone a full police investigation and was found innocent in teh whole accident but the public shunned him and he was called nasty stuff online. He was pull from all his solo activities and didn't appear even with BIGBANG for months.) until he frees himself and Seungri appears from obscurity (he promoted alot in Japan, he's surrounded by woman and has scratches cos his scandal was about a woman he had been hurt by it) to stand by his throne. There is some powerful metaphor thrown in there. Daesung and GD by the car wrecks. (GD wrote a solo song for Daesung on this album to encourage and support him.) TOP donning his "old coat" of a rapper and no longer an actor. Daesung falling and the rebels (aka VIPs) catching him. BIGBANG rally together, and created this album that forced people to acknowledge their music. Then it's a dance party where BIGBANG are themselves, having fun, the rebels (VIPs) take off their masks (get offline cos BIGBANG have concerts now) and celebrate with the group. BIGBANG end on their (reclaimed) thrones as the 5 Kings, awake once again. extra fact: yes that is a dragon ball tattoo on GD's shoulder. Yes he a fan.

Yeah they did that, 6 YEARS AGO. Bigbang is always trying to make something that is timeless, from the songs to the music videos. They hope that ppl can still enjoy their music even in years ahead, they want their music to always sound “new” whenever we listen to them.
