Feel like this needs to be cleared up. The drugs in question was weed, it was two or three times in late 2016 cause he was dealing with anxiety and was nervous about going into the army, it wasn't his gf, but it was assumed they were hooking up. The girl in question has been linked to BI's scandal, Wonho's scandal, a 'scandal' involving Taehyung etc. She has been to prison for dealing and usage, but has rich, influential parents, so she gets off with things alot easier than anyone 'normal' would. TOP got two years probation for his weed scandal and was moved out of the police unit of the military and became a public service worker. He 'overdosed' in the army cause he was having issues sleeping because his scandal broke out in May 2017, I believe. The army and police tried to play down him almost dying so bad, saying he was 'just sleeping hard', so his mother had to personally come out and talk to the press outside the hospital to make people realize that he was actually in a coma and close to dying. People said he faked it and was just trying to gain sympathy for his scandal. GD was having a comeback and going on a world tour a short time after TOP ended up in the hospital, actually while in the hospital, and released a different song than he intended as a title track. He was looking very thin and a lot of fans were very worried. You should definitely watch the tour documentary for GD's 2017 MOTTE tour.

Hey Seb: I am VIP originally. Trust and believe there is only one Big Bang. They all have crazy backstories. TOP is fine. He left YG and wants to create a better K-Pop training system. You need to read up. Last Dance was before they went to Military and the Burning Sun incident with Seungri who isn’t in the industry. GD has an amazing clothing line and is the Idols Idol. They heard and are influenced by WU Tang Gang and GD is the highest decorated song writer in the Korean Industry. They are amazing. Their live concerts are pure adrenaline. oooh. so clarification. after the basic training for his military service, TOP got caught using weed (a woman was involved, but their exact relationship was unclear; also she was someone who already known to make issue/ badmouth other korean celebs). when the scandal got very public, the next news was that he passed out and was hospitalized. then next thing we know, he was getting treated for mental health things and he did military service as public servant in some sort of art therapy for children. at that time, we didn't know any official data. it's just now, before releasing bigbang's latest single, TOP did a magazine interview. i think he already had general anxiety (he mentioned taking meds for anxiety really casually in some interviews in the past). but in the magazine, he mentioned that he tried to od on pills (can't remember what, but it wasn't hard drugs). fortunately, he survived. but man, that was tough -- they were blurring his face in korean media! and in asia, the culture of public shaming is really big. right now, he's still part of bigbang, but he didn't renew contract with YG. he's releasing his own wine. he posts random clips of unreleased music.

I’m biased when it comes to weed being seen as a drug cuz I’m young and from the states so I’ll never really see that as a crime even though I know it is in SK. I hated the hate that GD and TOP got from that and the toll it took on TOP’s health. The mental health of kpop idols ALWAYS worried me but I worried more so during 2nd Gen era.

The worst part of the TOP "weed" situation: it was literally a handful of times yes it was illegal but it was not a habit. The pseudo girlfriend was a narc, and for several others also. She not only narced to save herself, she nastily discussed their private life in a bunch of public forums. She is in PRISON now, her REAL drug habit has had her before the court multiple times. The public shaming almost undid TOP, he ended up in the hospital. TOP's mother rebuked the public and begged the haters to leave him alone, imagine what courage that took on her part. Every "scandal" surrounding this group has been VERY public, they have had a media target permanently painted on their backs. In comparison to other idol groups, there is always negative hype that is often of no substance, I hate that attitude for these hard working men.

what i love about Bigbanh is each member has a very different vocal tone from each other,.....and they have at least 3 superb vocalists in the group, and their rappers can sing too, which is a lot in terms of kpop groups that usually have 1😅 decent vocalist. and in other kpop groups they may have more than 1 singer in the group but they sound like everyone else.
