Great review but the bike does Really well on the High way it has the Capacity to overtake quickly and the revs start getting Higher after 120 it reaches 120 perfectly for me I have had it for 2 years now only problems you might face are your Throttle cable and clutch they snap often

I've ridden my 250 cc bashan motorcycle for 2 years now without the clutch cable. It is a motorcycle that mostly stays in the farm but it's a useful skill to learn how to ride a bike without a clutch cable. First thing I learned myself is how to change gears without clutch. This is easy enough as you just need to be at lower revs to switch gears and this doesn't damage your bike if you do it correctly. Now starting and driving of without the clutch is a lot harder. The easiest way for me was to put the bike in first gear and at the same time as I push the bike forwards with my legs I hit the ignition switch. The bike will lurch forward but then you are in motion. The other option is to put the bike in neutral start pushing the bike and jump on and then as the bike is rolling depending on your speed you can either switch to first or second gear whilst revving the engine. I've found on my bike if I switch from neutral to a gear without revs it just stalls. For me the first option worked best. This is good practice for when you are in a emergency without a clutch cable. I do not recommend this to any motorcycle over 250 cc though as I think it can be damaging ( switching gears without clutch whilst riding is ok on any bike). These methods are only good for emergencies and old farm bikes you don't want to spend money on .

I'm convinced to buy a small bike for my daily commute. I currently have a Tazz which is killing me with Maintenance and Petrol not to mention Insurance, 3rd party liability should the worst happen.

@@thebevbikeseries4347 I am also looking at the BigBoy TSR 250. For the odd occasion going on 2-spoor or the odd gravel - or dirt road. The TSR seems to be reliable too. I like the looks of the Superlight 200 much more than the TSR. It's just for the possibility of doing the odd off road ride. Not major off road rambling though.

Great review of the bike, what's the true maximum speed, I have a snipy 200zr gomoto,however cannot go over 110km/h

Hi and thanks for the comment. To be honest i am not entirely sure, i have pushed it to 120 but at that point i could feel that i was stretching it a bit too far.

Hi there, thank you...yes, but it might be a bit too powerful for a very first timer... I had a scooter before this and it also took me a bit of practice but totally confirm it is fine as a starter bike

Thanks for the review. You mentioned that it costs about R120 to fill it's tank but how many kms does it do/litres does it use between fill-ups? I'd also be keen to know its top speed, I e. the average speed of ridden flat out in both directions of a road.

I don't own one but from others experiences and my own knowledge of this bike I'd say it'll do a pretty comfortable 110 kmh in both directions and some guy said he's hit 140kmh on it. It's a great bike definitely worth it as a beginner bike

Have you driven the bike with a passenger? How did it perform with a second rider?

Yes i did but personally i wouldnt do it again as i feel the bike is too light for 2 people

Please explain to me right i have the same bike... how do you turn off the lights? Theres bright and dim but where's the off switch?

most bikes dont have a way to turn off the lights. its for your protection so your more visable on the road @@zetacomtechnology3309

A lot of bikes have a light that stays on all the time, some scooters too and then just high and low, I always ride with lights on day or night, it's safer and some may say the law supports it.
